Has there ever been discussion on possibly removing the gender check for some equips? I think it would add a interesting, quirky distinction to this server... and also I get sad that some of the most common equips to invest money in are gender locked (e.g. bathrobes)
I didn't go through all those links but the distinctive (M) and (F) armor of the game is one of the things that really set it out. In later versions of the official one these things were more or less phased out too in exchange for higher level common type overalls /tops/bots. It has a certain charm to it, and whilst it is harder to find certain things for (F) it adds to the game. It gives you something to strive for. Sure not everything has to be gender based (like most NX) but in terms of the basic existing armor of the game I think they should remain how they are. Another option could perhaps be future events where people can design certain weapons/armor, not necessarily end-game ones right off the bat, but early level - late midgame job/common type ones, for Gachapon or new store NPCs (like Shinta in Showa). For collectors in general and to spice up the game a bit. The official MapleStory has deviated far enough from what it once was anyway so I don't see a problem adding new and fun things to the game, but changing such a core existing element is unclear waters imo.
Wow, so many hateful comments in those threads. Also 1 reply that might explain why this hasn't been done, in probably any server: "Not possible due to client limitation..." It seems like it would be mostly a manual labor intensive project with little to no gain, where every piece of equipment would have to be coded again.
