No it doesn't work like that. The probability of getting a chaos or white scroll doesn't change regardless of anyone's actions.
If you toss a coin you have a 50% chance to get head or tails regardless of the amount of times other people have flipped that coin before you and what their outcome was. However if you decide to flip a coin X amount of times you can calculate what is the probability that out of those X times you will get a certain amount of tails or heads. This is essentially what this table shows.

You cannot increase your luck in any way, you can only increase your chances of getting something by increasing the number of tickets you use.

 

Unless pseudo RNG is in play. Is there any evidence to suggest either way?

 

True. Could be higher chance on even seconds vs odd seconds

 

In theory you're right; if it's not true RNG you can use it to your advantage, but in reality this is not something applicable (pseudo RNG that is used in codes is "good enough" to be considered true RNG).

That's really situational.

I remember reading an article a while back where Apple changed their randomizer fomula from true random to not even pseudo-random because customer complained too much that it didn't "feel random enough."

True RNG tends to be difficult to grasp for most people, so a lot of software tends to use pseudo-rng as a replacement.

To take a clear example that I know of, I remember in Dota 2 "priming" your pseudo-rng critical strike before a large fight was a niche but demonstrable strategy. I suppose all of this is to say that I wonder if your chances materially improve if, for example, you see someone go 300 tickets dry and gach immediately afterwards, your chances of landing that ws improves.

 

A lot of games use Pseudo-RNG in a form like

p(crit)=0.05

if crit, p(crit)*0.95
if not crit, p(crit)*1.05

Or whatever operation is favoured for the situation.

Never have I had the idea that there is not true RNG in Royals.
We feel about 3 times as bad about bad experience as we feel about good ones. So the 600 gacha dry streak will stick in your head for years while the 2 CS in 200 tickets is soon to be forgotten.

 

Now that I think about it MapleRoyals' client is kinda old (v83 came around 2008) so I do wonder how "good" is the RNG implemented in it. This requires some source code digging though

 

I always thought there's something really odd with the RNG in Maplestory in general; for example the Stance skill for warriors have a 90% chance to work at max level, though it never feels like it's truly 90% because you get knocked around too many times (could be a psychological thing similar to what you described though)

 

How about chaos scrolls? With 650k NX I managed to get 6 CS XD probably my best gach run ever.

 

I don't recommend going to gocha with 35 tickets, I usually wait until 8*35 to start gocha, btw ws is more regular than cs
