Disclaimer: This quiz is just for fun and should not be used as an authoritative source for T&C information. It is based on V3.2 of the Terms and Conditions and thus will eventually be out of date. Any rules mentioned here or indeed in the T&C itself can be superseded at the discretion of MapleRoyals staff, pursuant to section 3 of the T&C. Hey there! Sorry to bother ya, but I've been tasked with a mission of utmost importance! Yup, that's right, by the Maple Admin herself! I am here to ask you a few (hopefully) simple questions about the Ter-What's that? You say you already know the Terms and Conditions and this is your fifth character? You're tired of answering my stupid quiz?OK BUD. Let's see how you like HARD MODE. Click on only one hidden answer for each question, and keep track of your score as you go. 1. What is the maximum number of accounts one player can have on MapleRoyals? Spoiler: 1 WRONG. Spoiler: 10 WRONG. Spoiler: 99 WRONG. Spoiler: There is no maximum specified CORRECT. The T&C does not specify any limit for the number of accounts a player can make. 2. What is the minimum age requirement to play MapleRoyals? Spoiler: There is no minimum age specified WRONG. Spoiler: 11 years WRONG. Spoiler: 13 years CORRECT. Section 2.2 of the T&C states that you must be over the age of 13. Spoiler: 18 years WRONG. 3. Which of the following character names is legal according to the T&C and the MapleRoyals client? Spoiler: nut WRONG. Section 2.II of the T&C explains that the client will not permit you to use a name shorter than 4 characters. Spoiler: TriggerWarning WRONG. Section 2.II of the T&C explains that the client will not permit you to use a name longer than 12 characters. Spoiler: DAZIUNDA2.0 WRONG. Section 2.II of the T&C explains that the client will not permit you to use a name with characters other than a-z and 0-9. Spoiler: comprarmeso WRONG. Section 2.V of the T&C forbids any name advertising real-world trading, and this name is spanish for "buy meso". Spoiler: JoeBiden CORRECT. While section 2.IV of the T&C forbids the use of real people's names in conjunction with an attempt to impersonate them in-game, the name itself is legal. Spoiler: MortyGM WRONG. Section 2.III of the T&C forbids any name that implies you have GM privileges. Spoiler: BeefCurtain WRONG. Section 2.I of the T&C forbids any name which is vulgar. This name is an uncommon euphemism for female genitalia, so it is not permitted. Don't believe me? try creating this character- the client won't let you. 4. Which of the following is NOT a major infraction? Spoiler: Recording client-server network traffic on your PC WRONG. This act falls squarely under Major Infraction #7: Game Monitoring. Spoiler: Pretending to scroll another player's gear for them, but keeping their clean one and giving them a previously failed one CORRECT. This scheme is merely Moderate Infraction #7: Scamming. Spoiler: Helping your little brother by completing the Zakum jump quest on his account WRONG. While you're unlikely to be caught, this noble deed is technically Major Infraction #10: Account Sharing. Sorry little bro, time to git gud or start farming for the alt-quest. Spoiler: Successfully playing the game with last version's game files from a month ago WRONG. This act falls squarely under Major Infraction #9: Improper Files. Spoiler: Writing your buddy's homework assignment if he agrees to leech your HS mule for you WRONG. Even though you didn't pay real world money, and didn't recieve in-game items or mesos, this is still considered Major Infraction #8: Real World Trading, because you traded a tangible advantage IRL for a tangible advantage in-game. 5. If you went into the FM and started joking you were a famous banned player in hopes of getting some quick fame, what would your crime be? Spoiler: Solicitation (Moderate Infraction) WRONG. Begging for fame is not considered solicitation. Spoiler: Scamming (Moderate Infraction) WRONG. Convincing other users to willingly fame you for free is not a scam. Spoiler: Ban Evasion (Infraction by Extension) CORRECT. Admitting to be a user who is already banned is clearly Ban Evasion, and even joking about being such a user, could be considered Ban Evasion due to the "Believable Claim" infraction by extension. Spoiler: No rule was broken, it was just a joke WRONG. "It was just a joke" will not protect you from the consequences of your actions. (Search the ban appeal forum for "just joke" to see how often this excuse is unsuccessful) 6. Which of the following does not fall under the category of the minor infraction of "Objectionable Behavior"? Spoiler: Multi-clienting a mage gang to make a constant blizzard in FM WRONG. The entry in the T&C for Objectionable Behavior specifically mentions "spamming or flooding with chat or skills". Spoiler: Smegaing a tinyurl link to your lewd Naruto fanfic WRONG. The entry in the T&C for Objectionable Behavior specifically mentions "transmitting any sort of content that is inappropriate, sexually explicit ...". This could also be considered solicitation if you stand to gain from people visiting your link. Spoiler: Using monster sacks to repeatedly kill a botter WRONG. While we can all agree the botter had it coming, it's not your job to discern who is botting and who is not, and you're technically guilty as the T&C states "Use of monster sacks will be considered harassment if the individual is either targeting the same player multiple times or targeting multiple players to disrupt their gameplay." Spoiler: Using your alt to roast yourself in guild chat, making jokes about your gender, race, and religion. CORRECT. According to the T&C, guild chat is considered a "private space", and thus an infraction can only result if the comments are targeted and reported by the target. As long as you don't turn yourself in, and no one else in guild chat feels targeted by your jokes, you're right on the edge of what is allowed. 7. Which of the following key configurations is allowed? Spoiler: Using a hotkey program to map "jump" to a DDR pad under your desk CORRECT. The appendix for the major infraction "Game Hacking" clarifies that mapping a single in-game action to a single real-world button 1:1 is legal, no matter how strange. Spoiler: Using a script to repeatedly say what you're selling in FM so you don't have to buy a chalkboard WRONG. This falls under the moderate infraction of "Robotic play", since it allows your character to function in some capacity (chatting) without your input. Spoiler: Using a hotkey program to cast heal whenever you stop pressing a directional key WRONG. The appendix for the major infraction "Game Hacking" states that only 1:1 rebinds of keys to game actions are allowed, and this scenario involves 2 game actions. The fact that it is a key release instead of a keypress is irrelevant. Spoiler: Using a hotkey program to set up a telecast button for a keyboard that normally can't perform them WRONG. The appendix for the major infraction "Game Hacking" states that only 1:1 rebinds of keys to game actions are allowed, and telecasting involves 2 game actions. If your keyboard cannot telecast due to anti-ghosting settings, you could remap teleport and cast to a different controller or mouse that is capable of pressing both quick enough to telecast. Spoiler: Using a hotkey program to double-click by pressing mouse button 3, to make it easier to use and equip items WRONG. The appendix for the major infraction "Game Hacking" states that only 1:1 rebinds of keys to game actions are allowed, and this scenario involves 2 game actions (even though it's the same action twice). 8. If you follow someone around and kill-steal them repeatedly and keep getting hit with minor infractions, what is the total amount of time you'll have spent banned after 10 consecutive infractions? Spoiler: 30 days WRONG. Spoiler: 250 days WRONG. Spoiler: 670 days CORRECT. Kill-stealing is a minor infraction, so the ban time would be 3, 7, 30, 90, 90, 90, 90, 90, 90, and 90 days for each respective offense. Spoiler: 900 days WRONG. This number would only be true if the user had 3 or more previous minor infractions before these ten. Spoiler: permanent ban WRONG. Kill-stealing is a minor infraction, and no amount of minor infractions should result in a permaban unless by special discretion of staff. 9. How many times in a row can you safely defame someone before it's considered "mass defamation" and therefore the minor infraction of Objectionable Behavior? Spoiler: 2 CORRECT. The appendix on Objectionable Behavior states that "Persistent mass defamation will be considered three or more defames by an individual". Spoiler: 3 WRONG. Spoiler: 9 WRONG. While the number of defames requied for "mass defamation" used to be 10, this rule changed back in 2021. Spoiler: 99 WRONG. Spoiler: Not an infraction unless it's also combined with stalking/harassment WRONG. Stalking is it's own Moderate Infraction, and any harassment would be a separate minor infraction. Mass defame on it's own is a minor infraction. 10. Which of the following is NOT considered RWT (real-world trading)? Spoiler: A twitch streamer giving a chaos scroll to a random subscriber of their channel WRONG. Since the streamer received an out-of-game benefit (subscribers to their channel) in exchange for an in-game benefit (chaos scroll) this could be considered RWT. Spoiler: Trading mesos in another private server for mesos in Royals WRONG.Since you received an out-of-game benefit (neopoints or something) in exchange for an in-game benefit (mesos) this is considered RWT. Spoiler: Giving another player some items as thanks for showing you a good training spot CORRECT. Since you received an in-game benefit (training spot) in exchange for an in-game benefit (items) this is just an ordinary trade. Spoiler: Trading mesos for today's Wordle solution WRONG. Since you received an out-of-game benefit (seriously, cheating at wordle??) in exchange for an in-game benefit (mesos) this is considered RWT. Spoiler: Giving items to someone to thank them for making your forum signature image WRONG. Since you received an out-of-game benefit (forum signature image) in exchange for an in-game benefit (items) this could be considered RWT. 11. What does the T&C say about multi-clienting (having multiple windows open at once with different characters/accounts)? Spoiler: Should only be used for storing items and using buff mules WRONG. Spoiler: It's completely fine on MapleRoyals to multi-client WRONG. While it's true that it's fine to multi-client on Royals, the T&C does not explicitly say it's allowed, and it does mention at least one situation where it isn't allowed. Spoiler: You can't use it to join the same event map on multiple characters CORRECT. The only mention of multi-client in the T&C is in the appedix for "Glitch Abuse", stating that you can't join an event map with multiple accounts. Spoiler: You can't use it to "afk farm" with summons on multiple channels at the same time WRONG. While this might be a jerk move that could get you blacklisted by other players, it is not against the T&C. Spoiler: You can't use it to join the same PQ party twice and pretend to be 2 different people to get extra drops WRONG. The T&C does not mention this precise scenario. However, it could be considered scamming, particularly if your party is suffering from your scheme. 12. Which of the following glitches is not considered "Glitch Abuse"? Spoiler: Joining CPQ when above the level cap WRONG. This glitch is explicitly mentioned as an illegal glitch in the addendum linked to in the appendix for Glitch Abuse. Spoiler: Bringing summons into event maps WRONG. This glitch is explicitly mentioned as an illegal glitch in the addendum linked to in the appendix for Glitch Abuse. Spoiler: Ghost walk (multiple of your characters walking around at the same time from the same keyboard inputs) CORRECT. As long as you don't use skills or gain an advantage from it, this glitch is harmless. Spoiler: Meso explosion glitch (using meso explosion on the same set of mesos multiple times) WRONG. This glitch is explicitly mentioned as an illegal glitch in the addendum linked to in the appendix for Glitch Abuse. 13. Which of the following scenarios could potentially qualify as "Minor account sharing", resulting in a 30-day ban instead of the usual permaban? Spoiler: Logging into someone else's discord account to shout slurs on the MapleRoyals discord voice channel WRONG. According to section 3 of the T&C, "Unless stated otherwise, the rules listed in this document apply to the MapleRoyals venues in their entirety (MapleRoyals Discord, MapleRoyals Forum, and MapleRoyals game server)". This means that, read as written, Account Sharing applies to this situation. Even though you'd normally be guilty of the minor offense of Objectionable Behavior, doing it from another account technically constitutes Major Account Sharing (scenario 6), resulting in a permaban. Spoiler: Logging into your big brother's account to borrow his cilbis while he's away on a camping trip WRONG. The appendix for Account Sharing explicitly defines this as major account sharing (scenario 4). Spoiler: Giving your login details to a few of your guildies in case of emergency (but they didn't log in) WRONG. The appendix for Account Sharing explicitly defines this as major account sharing (scenario 8). Spoiler: Having a guildie quickly log in to check if your account is actually banned or just IP/MAC banned CORRECT. The appendix for Account Sharing lists eight scenarios that are guaranteed to result in a permaban, and this situation doesn't fit any of them. Example case here. Spoiler: Transferring ownership (for free, no strings attached) of an account containing a single Lv150 bishop to your friend to help them get started on Royals (they change the password/PIC so you no longer have access) WRONG. The appendix for Account Sharing explicitly defines this as major account sharing (scenario 5). 14. Suppose a user phished another user on the MapleRoyals discord server by pretending to be an admin and sending them a keylogger disguised as patch files in order to steal their account, and then used that account to help perform a duping exploit, and then used the mesos from the exploit to purchase from another Mapleroyals user (who happens to be a regional manager at KFC) a whispered message containing the recipe for the Colonel's 11 secret herbs and spices. How many different major infractions would they be guilty of? Spoiler: 3 WRONG. Spoiler: 4 WRONG. Spoiler: 5 WRONG. Spoiler: 6 CORRECT. The user is guilty of: Account Hacking (for accessing the other player's account); Account sharing (for "logging into or otherwise using an account owned by another person, with or without permission, regardless of whether or not the information was directly or indirectly shared"); Duping (for performing the dupe exploit); Malicious Content (for sending a keylogger disguised as patch files); Illegal Content (for allowing transmission of KFC's confidential recipe); Real World Trading (for gaining an out-of-game benefit (secret chicken recipe) for an in-game benefit (mesos)); Spoiler: 8 WRONG. Are you sure you're not counting all infractions instead of just the major ones? Spoiler: 11 WRONG. You know there's only 10 different major infractions, right? Spoiler: Who cares? They're permabanned either way. ANSWER THE QUESTION. Prize Section Spoiler: 0-6 points Spoiler: 7-13 points Spoiler: 14 points
