I wasn't doing it to grief, honestly just played around maple island for a bit. I'm a computer scientist and have been really interested in client/server interactions lately and hacking seemed like a decent way to learn a bit. I didn't actually see any people while I was hacking. The account I hacked on was called "muchlegit" and the character was "muchlegitwow". I was banned for monster drop vac on that account. However, when I went to go login on my main account (the one I am posting from, okiyama) I found that I was not able to. Looking in the troubleshooting guide showed that I had a MAC ban on my account as I got all the way up to selecting a character, then it would drop me. I'll level with you and just say with honesty that I was not looking to hack for any harmful reasons, it was just for educational purposes. It was dumb and I'm sorry for it, but I have no interest in doing it again.
That's great, but you will not be unbanned. The Terms and Conditions state that a person is permanently banned for hacking, and we never unban hackers. As a fellow computer scientist, you should know that you never experiment or play around with hacking on something you don't own or have permission to hack on. I guess it's good you learned this on a simple game server rather than when you try hacking into a school network without their permission...
I'm finding myself missing the server quite a bit. Is it at all possible to get this revisited? I really am just a dude that likes the server and wants the best for it. I made a stupid but completely harmless decision and I don't think that should be enough to warrant a total ban for life. I've even been maintaining a guide while banned. I tried server hopping the past few months and honestly every other server just kinda sucks in comparison. I really, really like the community around here so much better than anywhere else. I would love to be a part of it again, can you guys reconsider?
