Hello all, I was thinking to myself today how much I love this server, how long I've been apart of this game. And then it daunted on me, the reality is this is just a Private Server. Despite how near-perfect this game feels as a Classic Server - from the full FM, consistent core party quest, very healthy game economy, etc. It's insane how full the game feels with such few players (1200 or less), even my friend I got to join from Web3 world, is enjoying the shit out of it, he already donated over $100. How long could it possibly run for? If it was up to me, I would hope it stays open for eternity, but I know that is unrealistic thought... I've put a fuck load of hours in dedication into the server as have many others, and play as if everyday will bring a new tomorrow. I try my best to donate to help keep server up and running. Would love to hear input from the community on their thoughts on this, and even from the people who work here. How long do you think this beautiful server can keep running?
I donated somewhere about couple hundreds, never manage to count them exactly, not because I donated too much or too many times, its just I simply don't mind to count them, which like most people never count how much they spent in a restaurant for dinning when they just want to enjoy that moment with they loved one. It's pointless to discuss how long this server will continue it's running, I don't mind or feel sad/hate if they gonna end this server by the end of this year, or even this month, because like most players, I already got enough of joys since the date I joined this server; The original me already dead long-long-long time ago as my very main account got hacked in MapleStory. What I've got, created, or reached in this server is what I've always wanted, but suddenly got ruined and had no choice but to stop in original server. Jack once said "To make each day count" in the film Titanic, if you had made each of your play day count in this server, then why should we care if the server won't last long? You and I already had enough joy that we would never have long time ago.
It was April/May 2013, Matt had the Idea of making a private server because we all pretty much quit Europe Maplestory after our small server Demethos started to crumble and die off [EU Maple Lore: 2 servers only, Kradia was 95%+ the population total of EU Maple, Demethos we all knew eachother and stuck together like a family]. We all Started with a closed beta testing which got combed over for a few weeks of no lifing which we were about 25+ players at first, by the time open beta started Royals already achieved a steady stable 100+ Users reaching top 10 on Gtop on a V62 build , It was only upwards from there. Having it almost been 10 years ago since this server opened not only has it Evolved into a bigger more ambitious server but for me i haven't stuck it out for the whole nearing 10 years but i have kept my eye on it for the whole length whether its to randomly vote, jump into the game to check out the content that was once not there or just skim through the FM and see whats for sale in the server or checking who still plays or is still around it'll always have me coming back. However long things may stay always remember never to take it for Granted because one day it will be all be gone whether the plug gets pulled or legally it has to end, This server has outlasted pretty much all Maplestory private servers and always stayed up on top. People can say the Economy is strong or the server lacks this or that but don't forget to appreciate those who you will get to meet and those who take up their time to try and provide you with more content whether its for the next time or last time. Regardless you shouldn't go worrying about how long this servers going to last for but instead just enjoy it whilst you have it, nothing is forever. Like a single player video game, you'll only get to enjoy playing it for so long but eventually you will grow out of it or come back to it another time, for me that's what this server does for me, i crave maple? i jump into Royals until my craving has gone away then i'll be back whenever it comes back to my mind "may i can do this, do that" Continue playing and look forward to the upcoming Easter event (im actually hoping Richies is included lol) before you know it'll you will be playing into the 10th year Anniversary and being a milestone year im sure that's something for the team to putting some nice surprises into it. Thanks Matt and the others for keeping it up this long.
