ALL Your Character Names: Plus10Rapier (Level 50 Spearman) and some alts that I don't remember the name of Last thing you did: Run around random FM channels dropping onyx apples and giving random people white scrolls for free sometime in early 2023. Why do you think you got banned?: The only reason I can think of for why I got banned is a GM thinking that I'm doing some sort of RWT/RMT (real world trade/real money trade). The only time I play this game is to log in every 3-6 months, spend ALL my NX I accrued in that time on NLC gachapon, then give away the WS to random people like I'm some sort of MapleStory Robinhood (or sell the WS for onyx apples and drop those in random FM channels). I am with 100000000000% certainty that I have not shared my account, hacked/cheated, RWT/RMT, botted, or anything else that breaks the rules. So it's either a GM thinking I've been trading my scrolls for real money and manually banned me, or my account has been compromised because my password was bad (which it is lol). I am positive of my innocence, so hopefully this can get resolved soon. Ban message when attempting to log in: This is an ID that has been deleted or blocked from connection What GM banned you (optional): N/A Edit: Quick edit, since this might actually be useful information. Sometime around the last time I logged in, I received a new router/modem combo from my ISP since our old one was no longer supported. I have no idea if this changes my IP and makes it seem like I'm logging in from another location, but I figured at the very least I could throw it in here in case it helps.
how come there is no chat of you trading ws for apples? where did you get the money to buy more ws from merchants from if you only do gachapon and do giveaways?
Hello, Tim, thanks for your response. In order to properly answer your first question, I think I need a tad bit more clarification on what you mean by "no chat". If by "no chat" you mean just regular old general chat in-game that everyone can see publicly, then I can see why you would ask this, since I don't recall ever sending messages there about trading white scrolls for apples, mainly because I distinctly remember this being a case where they were sending "T>apples for WS" messages in FM, to which I promptly initiated the trade. That being said, there were definitely chat interactions within the trade window, as well as buddy chat. The reason I'm bringing up buddy chat is because the most recent person that I traded my white scrolls for apples with (which would have been the last time I logged in around February or March) added me and said to come back to them later on if I decided I wanted to trade more of my white scrolls for apples, which happened one or two additional times after the first trade, all in the same night, even likely within the same hour. Also, my apologies, but I'm a bit confused with your second question, since it carries the implication that I purchased white scrolls from other players in order to do more giveaways. I re-read my original post to see if I implied anywhere that I purchased white scrolls from other players, but what I wrote doesn't seem to reflect that, so I need a bit more more clarity sent my way since I appear to be missing something. My acquisition of all of the white scrolls was entirely through the NLC gachapon, over roughly 1.5-2years of voting. I never required purchasing white scrolls from other players because the gachapon always gave me all the scrolls I needed in order to fulfill whatever giveaway I felt like doing. So while I never purchased white scrolls from other players, I can answer how my wealth was accrued, if you desire that information independently of the question you asked. In the early days of my "every few months gachapon spree", I was originally selling off the white scrolls for mesos, and had amassed roughly a 2-4b net worth off of the white scrolls alone. The reason for doing this as opposed to immediately giving them away (as my post would likely have someone infer) was because I figured one day I might eventually come back and play, and would have the ability to fund my Spearman with some gear so I could actually compete in end-game content. It was only slightly later down the line that I came to the conclusion that it was more fun to give away what I had obtained from NLC gach than to keep them for myself in storage, unsure if I would ever actually come back to play. Only then did I start hard-focusing on the "giving away", as opposed to the "hoard indefinitely" part, which hopefully explains leftover mesos left in my storage or on my person. Sorry for being overly hyperbolic in my original post, I realize that my wording seems to explicitly state outright that I ONLY ever gave away stuff for free from very start to very end. Apologies for the long response, I'm trying to provide as much info as possible, albeit with a bit of unnecessary exposition mixed in. Thank you for your time, hope to hear from you soon. Thanks!
when looking at your history there's purchases of various things including white scrolls, but no sales of any
Final edit: I let my passion for writing go way, way overboard, so I'm gonna be deleting just this post I'm typing in specifically. I'm aware that admins can still see all posts and edits made, even after deletion, but I guess I'm just embarrassed I let it get this far without realizing that this is ridiculously overkill for a video game ban appeal. I do 100% still stand by everything I said, but I really wish I hadn't let it reach the point where I spent literal hours typing and editing just to get my point across and prove my innocence. This could have easily been done in 1k characters, not 15k. The imgur links should still work fine on your end, but let me know if you need them again, and I can still also upload the 15 minute video I referenced yesterday if it's required for evidence examination. Sorry for the trouble, hope to hear from you soon.
I'm assuming you read the edits before I axed that entire comment, so everything I say after here will be based on that. Was what I sent not enough to get me unbanned? I'm obviously innocent of what I'm being accused of. I don't possibly know what else I can post after that that doesn't allow me to get unbanned. I get that I went absurdly off the rails with my explanation, but have I not provided enough at this point to at least have you or anyone else on the team to assume that I'm telling the truth? If we completely ignore the unnecessary 4-5 paragraphs I sent about my account not being compromised, everything in the comment before that should be compelling enough to at least entertain the idea that I'm not guilty (the screenshots about the apples, inquiring about what "purchases" and "sales" mean, etc.). Like, are there any questions left you need to ask me at all so I can try and further prove that I'm innocent?
Fair enough. I haven't looked back on this post since I wrote it, but I know it's definitely cringe in most places. The evidence is there though, so I guess it is what it is. This is the post from Saturday or something. It's painfully long, since I'm not good at keeping things concise in instances like this, so if takes an eternity to get back to me after today's message, I understand. Anyways, here it is. . . . I feel like there has to be some sort of mistake here, are we sure there isn't some sort of mix-up between me and another player? Also, how far back is it possible for you to check my trade history? You would definitely see transactions of me trading white scrolls to other players and getting mesos in return sometime in maybe late 2021 to early 2022. The only other thing I can think of that may explain the mesos part of your response is what I remember to be the first time I dropped like 800k NX on tickets, and did Showa town gach for the first 400k or so NX, and got some chaos scrolls there. There was a guild that helped me out when I smega'd for best places to gach, and I'm positive I gave them gach stuff for free in return, so it's entirely possible I chose the white scrolls to give for free, and sold the chaos scrolls off for actual profit. I know this isn't my place to be making requests, and my apologies if it sounds a tad rude, but could we maybe cross-check to see if we're analyzing the right player? The only thing that I have actual evidence of a date and time are when I did my first actual giveaway that wasn't just nonsense running around dropping apples or trading WS to people that looked like they needed it. I did a "game show" where I smega'd people to come a certain FM channel, and I wrote down questions to ask, and a correct answer would be a white scroll. I found both the notepad I wrote the questions in, and the recording I did of it, both dates on them say 24th of September, 2022. Could you use that date to make absolutely certain that I'm not being confused with another player? Outside of that, I'm almost positive I have at least a few more MS videos lying around on an external HDD somewhere that may have my white scroll transactions in them, so I'll be digging through those in the meantime while I await your response. Thanks for your time, hope to hear from you soon. Edit @ 6:55 PM on 3 June, 2023 - I feel like we've moved past the onyx apples part of this appeal, since you didn't reference it in your most recent post, but I found a recording I have from the 30th of March this year where I went around dropping onyx apples in random FM channels. Thankfully for me, the name of the person I traded, as well as the chat interactions within the trade screen, are documented in this video. If you take a look at the screenshot of just the general chat on its own, you'll notice that they are sending messages asking to trade 50 onyx apples for 1 WS. I watched the video and didn't see any messages between the vendor and I in general chat, which answers your question you had in your first post about why there were no chat interactions (since I'm assuming that's just limited to general chat and the other types of chat you scroll through with the tab button I guess?). The second screenshot of the actual trade screen itself shows chat interaction between the vendor and I, thus corroborating my statements made in my previous post. The third screenshot is me giving the same person a white scroll for free, not that it really proves anything on its own, but it doesn't hurt to throw more evidence (for lack of a better term) onto the pile. Imgur album link below. (Side note, I could upload the video unlisted on YouTube if you need to see anything from it, it's roughly 15 minutes in length, but is pretty much just channel hopping, making stupid one-liners to AFK players about apples and the like, then dropping onyx apples and repeating the process) I can't find any recordings or screenshots of selling the white scrolls, since that was a bit before my time of documenting things that I deemed important, and on top of that probably didn't consider wealth acquisition through white scrolls/chaos scrolls/regular scrolls/etc. being called into question 1.5-2 years down the line as something that I would definitively need. I will continue to keep looking for more proof, but as it stands, it looks bleak in this regard. I still hold firm to my previous two statements, being that I sold the white scrolls off, or I had a slip of the mind when writing up my Master's thesis length second post, and ended up selling the chaos scrolls. That being said, I'd like to briefly turn our attention to your most recent message: The reason I'm hyper-focusing on this is because you said there are "purchases" of various things, and no "sales" of any. What exactly do "purchases" and "sales" mean in this context? Trades? FM personal shop? Some other way of player-to-player trading I'm unaware of? I understand I'm being a bit pedantic with analyzing your wording here, but considering that the very first question was this... ... it implies that zero interactions were made between the other player and I in any capacity, period. However, now that I'm able to provide evidence to the contrary, it now leaves other aspects of the accusations open to interpretation. If "chat" does not include chat within the trade window, does that mean that "sales" and "purchases" mean something specific as well? I make this argument because I am now under the assumption that "sales" excludes player-to-player trading, and most likely means anything related to, let's say, "Player A" having a player-owned shop, and "Player B" purchasing something from "Player A's" player-owned shop, with me being Player A in this context. Without a shadow of a doubt, I never had a player-owned shop, so my example from the previous sentence could have never happened, which would entirely rule out a "sale" occurring where I received money from a player-owned shop if my suspicions as to the wordage being used are correct. However, notice that this does not rule out me "purchasing" white scrolls from a player-owned shop, since it's entirely possible that there was a situation at one point in time where I felt like draining whatever wealth I had at the time, buying white scrolls from a vendor, giving away the scrolls for free, then dipping for another 3 months. At this point, while not being explicitly stated outright by neither you nor Bacon, I have to assume I'm banned under suspicion of some sort of RWT. With this in mind, I'd like to propose something. Let's play Devil's Advocate here for a second and assume I did break game rules. If I were guilty of what I assume I'm being accused of, wouldn't it be as easy as going back in whatever logs you have access to, looking up my player name, looking for a trade I made with a player that provided me with tons of mesos/white scrolls/etc. with me giving nothing in return, permabanning me, telling me good luck on my future endeavors, and calling it there? I'm playing against my own hand here because I know a trade instance like that doesn't exist, because all of the money I obtained on my account was through selling items obtained from gachapon, on my character alone, while following every single rule in the terms and conditions. Edit like 5 minutes after the last post: idk what happened to the imgur link, I just copypasted what I had in notepad. Should be fixed now.
I might be off by a smidge, but somewhere in the ballpark of maybe 25-35ish, plus or minus 5 in either direction? I never kept actual track on paper of the number of scrolls I got, so I kinda just have to do a very rough estimation. Since I remember getting 6 or 7 on my very first dump of 850k or so NX, then on my "game show" a year-ish later I gave away 6, and my character currently has either 7 or 8 on them. So we could add those together and safely round up to 20, which leaves a bit of wiggle room for my 35ish estimation, since there's bound to be a gap of time where I gach'd and had no intention of doing anything at that moment and held onto stuff. I'll think more on it and see if anything comes to mind, but that's all I got for now.
we unbanned you since your case is odd, but plausible sorry for the inconvenience, I hope you can understand that seeing lvl 50 characters with a lot of white scrolls rises suspicion
No, I completely understand where you're coming from. I'm quite the odd fellow, and my actions definitely deviate from the norm, so I can see why my case raised eyebrows. I apologize for being very unnecessarily aggressive with most of my phrasing, as well as making you have to read so much lol. An additional apology for re-opening the thread, but I have an issue that appears like it's directly related to the initial ban. I read this post here https://royals.ms/forum/threads/read-first-making-a-thread-in-character-issues.195221/ about not being able to make it past entering my PIC and it appears my desktop is still MAC banned as a result of the initial ban, so I can only play on my laptop at the moment. Is there any way to reverse this so I can go back to playing on my desktop? And thanks again for all your help. I'll try to not be too much of a nuisance in the future.
