As some of us experienced through the years and many amazing anniversary events, people prefer to AFK in Cake Boss maps instead of the dedicated Lounge.
While everybody would like a free piece of cake, our time and effort should be equal.

Annoyance example: I entered the Cake Boss map late, 40mins on the clock, 4 players are engaging in an active battle while the others allow themselves to benefit of behalf of others and go AFK.
Not one, but many of those AFKers are spread across the channels. The only way to get your piece, is to use smegaphones and hope for extra forces deployment. Due to limited amount of players in working hours (not everybody is working from homeoffice), I offered some meso to joiners. I defamed the AFKer after trying to call them into battle, there was no response.
After a while, I get defamed back by that person, and they continue to AFK. I expressed my concerns to them regarding the situation and the explicit reason for my defame, to which that person has responded and continued to AFK, by choice. Letting others know that they value their private time above ours, which should not be the case.

So, to spare all drama and resolve things by the love of our community and democracy, I believe a /votekick command should be introduced during the anniversary event or if also applicable elsewhere, there as well. Such feature should be very limited, to avoid exploits. One time a day, per ip, only in the same map with the person you vote to kick, or in general only in Cake Boss map, need at least 5 votes or w.e etc, etc, etc...
The Report button can be also modified to act differently in different maps I believe.


Did not open a poll, because it is obvious that AFKers would not like the idea.
But you! The hard-working people, what do you think? Is that the time to start schooling spoiled people?

 

Instead of this, make it a requirement to hit it an X amount of times when the boss still has ~10% of its HP before the boss dies instead of across the entire span of the bosses life

 

I thought you need to hit the boss like 150 time to get the piece of cake, cause i've experienced a few times not getting the cake cause i didn't hit it enough

 

You do.

But most people will just hit 150 times, then go afk, and that's what i think OP is alluding to.

 

tbh a /votekick command would incite much more drama than cake afkers ever could

so that's a yes from me

 

Being bound to Cake Boss map only, I do not see how it will incite much more drama. Either kick, or paid mass defame. Better civil than violative.

 

The better solution is probably some sort of dynamic contribution requirement based off how long it took the cake to go from 50% HP to dead (50% means most, if not all people attacking it will be in the map by then, meaning later cakes don't have far too high of a requirement since they've been sitting mostly untouched while earlier cakes got cleared)

 

If someone deserves to live the hope of getting a free cake piece, just to get disappointed at the finish line. Then the purpose is served!
No mass votekicks with IP Address limiter.
