Hello! For some reason when I jump on the platform in the picture below I instantly die regardless of my hp or being in dark sight. I am not sure if this is a bug or if this is how it is supposed to be. Thanks for your time!
It's because that thing is an area boss: I'm kinda surprised it kills you through dark sight but I know some mobs are capable of ignoring it (e.g. paper lantern ghosts in Zipangu)
Being a boss or area boss is not an indicator of ignoring dark sight's touch damage bypass (as far as I can tell). In fact, I'm not aware of any mob whose touch damage goes through dark sight (off the top of my head.) I've also tested Paper Lantern Ghosts and that's not the case there. Of course, we know that magic attacks do bypass dark sight. Not sure why the OP has died on that platform. I do not get hit on my shadower, I jumped around and moved several times. I'm unaware of any map or mob property which prevents dark sight from working properly. However Drake Area does not have any specific map property (field limit), and I don't see the snack bar boss having any weird property either. I would be interested to see a video. Perhaps you hit a drake and it's magic attacking you? There's also this: https://royals.ms/forum/threads/dark-sight-not-working-in-specific-map.139083/ which hints that perhaps there is some client bug, or there's just some nuanced way the client handles dark sight. Edit: Seems crimson balrog hits. Not sure why the snack bar pre-mob didn't hit me, but crimson balrog did. Unfortunately (or fortunately for me ) I don't have access to a test server so this is as far as I'll investigate, maybe someone else knows more.
Thanks, everyone for your help. I had no idea that was a boss. As for the dark sight, I believe I had activated it, but there is a slight chance that I did not, killing me like it did the second time.
