So I just looked at the warrior ranking, and realized that the minimum level to get on there is now level 150. I can still remember that when I got to 4th job, just appearing on the ranking was a big motivation for me so those early levels went by really fast. But back then the minimum level was 131 I think, and 150 just feels really high for just being rank 100. So I want to suggest a change of how the ranking works. It's good that banned people don't appear on there but what about all those inactives? (I see atleast 10 people who seem to be inactive.) I think we should have a check that, too appear on the ranking you have to log in say, once a week or a month. This will clean up the ranking a bit so that to new players, it doesn't seem to unrealistic to reach it. And if inactive people still want to appear on the ranking, they just need to log in for a minute per week/month to stay. Edit: As suggested by multiple people, a better idea would be to extend the rankings to 150 or maybe 200. So feel free to discuss that idea instead.
150 isn't exactly out of reach, even for new players. If you reached a high enough level to appear on rankings you deserve your ranking, whether you are inactive or not.
I think a better alternative would be to expand the rankings to multiple pages and hold the top 200 on it. I felt the same way about rankings when my bandit first got on them - but at that time, top 100 thieves was in the 7x range and top 100 overall wasn't even 120. I really liked when my bowman was climbing the ranks, as there were people to pass almost every level, and I knew many of them so friendly rivalries could develop. Not the same now that he's on the all class ranks. As mentioned though, 150 really isn't out of reach.
Yeah that's a very good idea as well. I feel like new players should be able to get somewhere on the rankings. And 150 is reachable, but by that time you're not really a new player anymore imo.
Inactive players shouldn't have their achievements taken away simply because they no longer play. I'd be more inclined to vote for a larger ranking list (top 200, 500, whatever).
