Hey all! Just came back after about two years. Kind of got hit with the nostalgia bug and here I am.

I wanted to return and just play the game how I did waaay back then. Without selling and buying leech.

So what im wondering is how is the levelling process from 1-135 for people that choose to grind it out instead of leeching.

Do people even choose to do this if they have the necessary funds to buy leech?

Is leeching significantly faster as opposed to levelling through the content?

PS: I know leeching is the meta and I have nothing against it. Just want to play it this way.

    Thank you!

I personally came back just recently, after a long break, and did not leech at all, although I could.

Got to level 105 by grinding, questing and PQing in about a month and a half I assume.
It is much much slower than leeching, but I still prefer it this way.

Nonetheless, to me it seems the VAST majority of players who can afford leeching choose it instead of grinding themselves.

Just play the game and do what you enjoy.

Not too long ago I've started ny Ironman NL Journey (no party, no trade challenge) and it took me about 10 days to get to level 80 without any attempt for my leveling speed to be optimal.
I just did any quest I could do.
From 80 to 100 I've grinded at Himes and Galloperas pretty quick as well.

Levels 110-120 are a pain to grind on any char as far as I am aware since you've most likely passed your major power spikes (such as getting max Shadow Partner, Avenger and Flash Jump on NL).

Most of us choose to leech because we have very high meso content available on other chars and its not really worth our time in meso to grind it out ourself and why not HP-Wash while you're at it.
You don't need to HP Wash if you dont want to, there are many viable means to gain additional HP now.
Level 170+ can enter Rose Garden, relative new end-game daily content that can make you about 800m-1b per week.
I recently asked some guildies about it and appearently it's about 8b to get a char leeched from 1-135.
With multiple chars doing RG and other dailies, that amount of meso is not that big of a deal anymore.
For newer players it's possibly faster to solo grind a bishop to 120 and leech your new char to 135 than to make 8b meso.

If you choose to grind I higly recommend checking the guide "Quests worth doing 2.0"
    Join a guild.
Make friends to do content with.
Don't listen to people that tell you that you need to HP-Wash
Do get a Zhelm at 50 and HTP at 120.
Play whatever the fuck you want.
And most importantly, it's a game, have fun ;)
    Good luck and wb!

I'm soon level 90 Hermit and i haven't leeched a single time yet. I also don't HP wash either. I've been doing fine so far! Join a guild, make friends, play like it's still the old maple we used to play :) leeching kills the joy in my opinion, no point in rushing.

If you have a party of 4-6 grinding in a map its MUCH faster than leeching.

    I really miss this!
Good old days when all 20 maps in Forest of golems had a party of 6. Same for sotongs etc for higher levels.
Seems rare to find a party of 4-6 training here

yea, i miss those times too. it's really only replicated here if you have a group of friends or convince some strangers to grind with you. This server needs a culture change as it has been a solo-type leech/hpwash playstyle for years.

you'll sometimes find low-level clerics in MP3 or Coolies just soloing maps instead of being in a party, then complaining that leveling is too slow. They either have no idea or refuse to communicate with others to party. It's wild to me.
