    Hi Everyone,

We would like to remind our players to never use the same account name and password on MapleRoyals as you do anywhere else. We have recently found strong evidence that leads us to believe that account names and passwords from a different private server are being used to attempt to access accounts here on MapleRoyals. If you know that you have used the same information somewhere else we strongly urge you to change your password immediately. Even if you are unsure - we still recommend that you change your password.

Click here to change your password now.

Top tips to keep your account safe:
    • Never use the same login information on any other private server or website as you do for MapleRoyals.
    • GM's will never ask for your account name or password in game. In rare circumstances we may require your account name to resolve a problem but we will only ask for this via private messaging on the forum. All GM's on the forum have an image of a GM hat [IMG] next to their name.
    • Only enter your account name and password on websites which start with "royals.ms" or "http://royals.ms" in your browsers URL box. [IMG]
    • Only use the MapleRoyals client from the MapleRoyals website. Do not download or use clients which are not from "royals.ms".
    • Keep your virus scanner up to date and scan for viruses on your computer regularly.
    • It's not recommended to use public computers, but if you do, it's highly recommended to change your password when you are back on your home computer.
    Regards,

    The MapleRoyals Staff

You can also make your account so worthless that hackers don't even think of hacking you in the first place

Best way to keep your account safe!!!!!!!

Great though this sounds, sadly it doesn't stop someone who has gained a bunch of account names and passwords from another private server from breaking into your account to take a look. It doesn't protect you from the hacker throwing your stuff overboard or stealing it for the lulz. It won't stop them from using hacks on your character, nor will it prevent them from helping themselves to your NX and keeping whatever they spent it on. The one thing an account hacker fortunately can't do here is delete any of your characters, because we've currently got character deletion disabled.

The best way to stay safe is never to use the same account name and password on other private servers, never share your account information with anybody, and always avoid entering your account name and password anywhere that might be a phishing site.
