Sorry this doesn't fit the recommended layout. Issue: - Laptop discrete GPU not being utilised by royals. - Only integrated GPU is utilised. Situation: I was trying to help troubleshoot someone with a performance issue on their laptop with a 1650 dgpu and 11th gen intel cpu. Forcing royals.exe to be run with the discrete gpu (165o) in nvidia and windows settings would still only result in the integrated gpu being used. Setting changes didn't make any difference. I then found that my laptop that uses an amd cpu and discrete gpu also has the same issue. Setting all relative settings to force royals.exe to run with the discrete gpu fails to work. Royals will continue to only use the integrated gpu. Same with a hp pavillion x360 with a 10th gen cpu and 250m dgpu. Other observations: - I didn't have an issue with an old laptop previously over 2 years ago but I haven't had to use a laptop to play for a while. Previously never had an issue. Suspected to be recent, another play has noted no issue previously before the latest files. - Potentially related to not having a mux switch but regardless, windows should recognise royals as a game. - Other servers have had similar issues report too. Not a big issue but may negatively affect a person's experience.
This probably ties in with https://royals.ms/forum/threads/nvidia-dgpu-vs-intel-igpu.212869/ The game client is probably somehow ignoring/bypassing what's in the windows settings and simply using whichever display adapter the default monitor is connected to.
Experienced same issue. client is not running on external gpu. already set graphic reference to high performance gpu, but not working. spec : asus laptop (i5-11400H/ RTX3050 laptop , win11)
