Since the start of Alpha our MapleRoyals has encountered many bugs and many are still being reported on a daily basis. Over two hundred threads have been created, and our Bug Reporting section of the forums has turned out to be almost, if not, over 10 pages long and is starting to look like it needs some organization. Recently, a new Bug Reporting System has been implemented and the old way of reporting bugs (create a thread and talk about it) is being organized into various subforums/categories so that they can be accessed and viewed with ease by everyone, most importantly those fixing the bugs. I would like to ask everyone who finds a new bug to use this new system, and give back some feedback afterwards. At the same time, take a look at the work in progress that is occurring in the original Bug Reporting section of the forum and try to formulate an opinion of which you would prefer or see as a better fit. Also, we would appreciate it if you leave some thoughts and opinions about your experience with reporting bugs on the forums and if you think you have a better idea or a suggestion, don't be afraid to say something ! Afterwards, come back and vote which you think is better! New Bug Reporting System? The new system was implemented just recently. You can access it via the Support section of the forum. When you go there, you will see a fancy new subforum called Bug Reporting (NEW SYSTEM) with a different symbol next to it. When clicking it, you will be directed to http://royals.ms/forum/vbugs.php and will be able to see all the bugs reported, fixed, as well as their severity. You are able to reply to existing bug reports submitted by others. Remember, two heads are better than one! If the person who created the new bug report left out something you think is important, simply give a reply and fill the moderators in on more information about the bug. If you wish to submit a new bug report via the new system, simply go to the page and in the top center in blue you will see [Submit New Bug]. Old Bug Reporting System? Here is a basic summary of the existing bug reporting system: 1. Make a thread 2. Make sure prefix is [Bug Report] 3. Give a descriptive title to the thread 4. Talk about the thread 5. Moderator sees thread and confirms that the bug exists 6. Moderator moves thread to specific category 7. Moderator(s) work to fix the existing bugs Step six is new. It was created since all the bugs were in one spot at the same time. To better organize the bugs, subforums were created so that bugs can be "filed" into specific categories and accessed in an orderly manner in the future.
I like the new system because it looks like a sleeker way to add bugs and get them reviewed quicker. It also takes away the unnecessary bulk of the posts and allows you to just get to the point.
