Introduction Hey people! My name is Kaizen "aka" Kamii, and I've decided to have a giveaway before I quit. I think my money will be more useful in someone else's hands when I'm not playing anyways. (I will keep this thread as short as possible to increase the chances that people actually read this..) I recently posted a thread in the "community" forum asking how people want the prices of this giveaway to be, and I finally decided how I want this all to work (taking your opinions into account). What I've decided is that I'm hosting ONE event, and not several small ones. I believe this will make people more motivated to participate compared to if I would just host several ones with small(er) prizes. If you don't want to read everything, only read the RED TEXTs (and pink..?) as they are important ones. When and where will the event be? Time: (writing several timezones to help you figure out what time it is in your timezone.) CET, Central European Time: 7pm, April 18th, Saturday. (7 o'clock - evening. In case of any confusion.) (This is the Server Time. CET = GMT+1) GMT, Greenwich Mean Time: 6pm, April 18th, Saturday. (6 o'clock - evening. In case of any confusion.) EST, Eastern Standard Time: 2pm, April 18th, Saturday. (2 o'clock - mid-day. In case of any confusion.) Place: Stage one will start at CH 4 FM 4. Participants that advance will be informed where to go next. How will the stages work? Stage One: I will ask questions (related to maple) and the first one to answer it correctly (correct spelling and punctuation) will advance to the next stage. The kind of maple-related questions may vary A LOT through this stage. For example, the answer to one question might be an item, and a whole sentence that an NPC says for another. 15 people advance to stage two. (This number can be changed to a lower number if not "enough" people participate) Stage Two: (Edit: Currently trying to change this stage to a question-based stage aswell, being as fair as possible. Won't be any requirements on being able to write fast on a keyboard, so on. Still 5 people advancing to stage 3.) Russian Roulette. This has been a part of events that GM's have hosted on this server. There will be platforms that I have given numbers, and I will tell the participants to spread out on whichever number they feel like. With a random number generator I will "choose" a number and everyone that stands on the platform with that number loses and won't be allowed to continue. What I explained above is what I like to call one "round", and there will be new rounds until there are only five people left. 5 people advance to stage three. Stage Three / Last Stage: This stage is very different from the others. The remaining 5 participants will battle for the prices in a "board game" in Maplestory. I started thinking about this idea long ago, and have always wanted to do it. Players will be guided to a map where they will play a turn-based game. I will explain the rules for the people that advance to stage three. It's more fun if it's a surprise! :3 3 people win prices in stage three. What are the prizes? Prices will be given to the first three people to finish the last stage, meaning that 2/5 people that make it to stage three does NOT get any prize. 1st Prize: 700m OR Mini Shinsoo Chair. I will most likely sit on it when hosting the event. 2nd Prize: Either 700m or Mini Shinsoo Chair depending on what the 1st place(r) picked / didn't pick. 3rd Prize: 300m - 3RD PRICE HYYPE sorry.. To wind this up I would like to say the following: I admit that I got inspiration from the HOLLYWOOD guild's giveaway event and I appreciate them hosting something like that. If you know whether or not you're going to participate, please answer the poll question as it will help me get an idea of how many people that will participate. I wanted to do something more interesting and fun for stage 2, but I couldn't figure out anything that would keep it as fair as possible. I'm kind of disappointed in my choice too. Sorry.
I looked up the server time, and you're right! They have changed it! My bad English isn't my mother tongue.. I'm working on it!
There are going to be both advanced and easy questions in stage 1, aswell as short answers (so you might have a chance). Would be happy if you participate anyways
Currently trying to come up with new ideas for stage two since people seem to think russian roulette will be a bad idea. I myself have realized it might be troubling, and decided that I will try to change it into a question-based stage aswell. You won't need to be able to write fast on a keyboard either. So far it looks like I'm going to have the "new" stage 2 all planned out today.
This its justy personal opinion. I think a nice event.will be killed 999 mobs (on danger quest on dungeon), and im not meaning just one 999 quest.. I meaning the 4 dangerous quest of 999. i never saw that so its kinda fun see that .. Maybr when i have little more of money i will do that. in anycase..
