The ~mapowner command should be changed so that a character can only be the ~mapowner for a single map. That is, once a character hits a mob in a different map than they are the ~mapowner for, the previous map stops having a ~mapowner when the new map gets taken over. This keeps the intended functionality of ~mapowner for keeping your map, while preventing any more of the multitude of conflict we have had because of it since times immemorable. A character holding many channels is not behavior from the original maplestory, I don't think it was intended when ~mapowner was created, and frankly I think it's very abusable.
I remember about a year ago being a noob trying to kill bigfoots in a map and a bishop would cc through all the channels and take mapowner of them while his buddy would be killing the bigfoots one by one. I would try and find an empty channel with a bigfoot only for him to cc to my channel, use genesis, and show that its been under his name for the past 30 mins. Hogging like 10 channels was pretty unfair and ~mapowner definitely can be abused this way.
I don't actually agree with this because you might want to run and do some other things before you come back to your map, maybe in other channels! Only when you attack a mob in a different map/channel and starting holding that one instead.
I agree with the suggestion that ~mapowner should disappear upon acquiring another ~mapowner (in a different map or on a different channel)
