I've noticed there has been a lot of misconception in regards to what this new scroll, available from NPC Cody's "Party Quest Gift Box" introduced in Patch #90, really does. Spoiler: The Box Spoiler: The Stat Due to the half-correct description of the item, most people seem to think it makes your character not slide around in El Nath and just that, while that is true, it does a lot more than only that: Reduces your KB distance by almost half This is what makes this stat really OP, as it can save you the time and trouble of frequently repositioning. Regular shoes KB distance: Spoiler: Click me Spike scrolled shoes KB distance: Spoiler: Click me ==================================================================================== Makes your character constantly walk at max speed Sounds a little confusing, I know, it essentially makes your character constantly move at maximum speed even when quickly switching directions, or lightly tapping the arrow key, whereas with regular shoes your character will slowly 'accelerate' and have a slower walking animation for the first 0.5 seconds or so, this is not as useful but can come in handy in situations like avoiding rocks in VL. Switching directions on regular shoes: Spoiler: Click me Switching directions on spike scrolled shoes: Spoiler: Click me ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- All in all, I really recommend scrolling this into your main shoes ASAP, but if you're not lucky enough to pass it yourself then do not worry, @cremcrem is selling Spikes on Shoes 10% Scrolling Service!
+1 vouch from a satisfied @cremcrem spiky shoes service customer here. Really enjoying my new pair of cleats, and I’m whiting anyone who’s too busy sliding around in my boss runs with this MASSIVE DPS BOOST!
after days of thinking about this I'm no longer sure if all of this post's comments are pure sarcasm or not besides the obvious humour. these are only worth to use on von leon boots/red socks since facestompers already have said effect, which means, we're better off just switching to facestompers instead of wasting tokens of teamwork for a 1/25 chance item that's just 10% success rate. these party quest gift box rewards are starting to feel really fishy. either just trying to be ironman-friendly, or simply dumb. EDIT: didn't want @Tail 's effort on creating this thread to go unnoticed. really great insight into the mechanics of the game, and made me reconsider wearing snowshoe-like shoes for the first time ever.
Facestompers actually do not! only snowshoes naturally come with this effect, you can test out snowshoes vs regular unspiked FS and you'll notice the difference
oh god... turns out I'm dumb and I've been living under a rock this whole time. sorry for that! guess I've found my new grind then. so much fun... .. .

I got 1 scroll for spikes on shoes within 21 boxes and it landed. first scroll, first try since I have no plans on going above 10 w. att on my shoes as a marksman, I couldn't be happier with these boots as a result!
I appreciate the attention to the fine details of the scroll's effect. Usefulness probably overlooked by some. Thanks for posting.
Yup! only the scroll itself is untradable, so you can still transfer and scroll the shoes on an alt if you happen to have scrolls there
