IGN: Sylafia (SyLafia) Problem: Recent update makes me very sad about my belt D: Details: In the most recent update, VL belt 60%s have been changed from +1 stat to +2. However, my belt was scrolled with them before the change. I was wondering if there's any chance that I can either have my belt reset back to clean stats, or just have the extra int added directly. I'd be fine with either, as even scrolling again from scratch is better than trying to reloot another belt nearly as good I don't have exact timestamps/videos of me scrolling it, but there's these 2 posts in latest accomplishment: Clean belt: https://royals.ms/forum/threads/latest-accomplishment-thread.2508/page-464#post-1343476 Scrolled https://royals.ms/forum/threads/latest-accomplishment-thread.2508/page-465#post-1348856 Meaning all the scrolling happened in a roughly 2 week timespan All 4 60s passed, using white scrolls if that helps verify in the logs. Additionally, it can be verified that this belt was int 60%'d instead of chaosed by the high magic defense on it - each int 60% provides 20 mdef, meaning this high of an mdef stat would be impossible to achieve with chaos. Additionally, in shoutbox Matt says that the int would be added if it was possible to determine if it was 60%'d instead of chaosed: If ws logs exist, then that with the magic def provides 2 ways to verify that it was INT 60%'d and not chaosed. So any chance I can have a better belt?
Hello, sorry to disappoint you We are unable to accede to this request of manually adjusting the belt stats
Is there any chance I can get the reasoning behind this decision? After all, when Spectrum Goggles (and other eye accessories) and Von Leon boots had extra slots added, existing ones were adjusted. I understand that this can't be universally done across all belts, but I also doubt very many people have used the stat 60% scrolls and would ask for an adjustment - they were pretty worthless on any class besides mage.
Can you please explain why and provide a reason for this decision? The community member has given a valid reason for the request and 2 valid options for how to proceed? The server owner even suggested as per the image that it could be done. You cant tell me their isnt a way to check which scrolls were used. The goggles were adjusted and all goggles scrolled prior got adjusted so precedent had been set. So why has this request not been fulfilled? This seems very unjust, and to close the thread without justification is not only wrong from the players perspective but also ridiculous from a long standing community member who is only asking for FAIR TREATMENT. It has been said many times, communication from Staff is very poor at the moment, and posts like this only fuel the fires.
It’s been like 2 hours from Sylafia’s post where they asked for a explantation, they might just not have had the time to respond. “The goggles were adjusted and all goggles scrolled prior got adjusted so precedent had been set.” But the scrolled stats were not changed, they just slapped on two slots. We just didnt have any eye scrolls back then, only CS. Changes come and go. Like all the people who rushed to finish csing a VL belt (awlz, donnie, montague, etc.) before the burning energy adjustment won’t be refunded 250BE per exchange. Sylafia and Matt said it themselves: “the int would be added if it was possible to determine if it was 60%'d instead of chaosed” WS logs do not exist. Drop trade logs don’t even exist. CHARACTER TRADE LOGS don’t even exist (see new RWT rule shenanigans). Our logs are a joke I think it is valid for Sylafia to get an explanation but Dave Deviluke probably isn’t the best person to relay it. He’s a forum admin. We’re probably best waiting for a response from Matt, Kenny, or a game balancer. That being said, personally, think things should be heavily tested and even feedback adjusted (from game balancers, not us losers) so stuff like this doesn’t hit live servers. Those scrolls were so underwhelming when they hit live and they were kind of a joke. Spawning new items is kind of a scary black box (shoutouts Purple Slimes), but if Sylafia has any recordings of her finishing her belt, which she might, she streams. I think her stat change deserves a reconsideration
Very bizarre decision. 1. Probably fewer than 5 bishops bothered with relooting/looting and even fewer with ws60ing the belt. The staff don't have to leaf through hundreds of INT scrolled belts to update them all. 2. This is not like the eye int scroll change where total magic attack given by the scroll was unaffected. 3. It's not like people can sell their belts, there's no effect on the market. 4. Why is a dedicated VL runner being punished for getting lucky/working on her belt early? For the record I'm not even close to Sylafia. In fact, I find her luck with untradables pretty darn obnoxious. #kopeemustdie
Not exactly this scenario but I have a set of broken glasses from lpq which I'd cs-ed ages ago when they were all 1 stat, with only 4 (?) dex remaining, the str and luk vanished. Fast forward to when the glasses became +3 stat to all, I had the str and luk added back by 2 to the glasses. So yay consistency
It is absolutely the case that they did not VL cs it. The magic defense cannot go from 37 to 117 with just Von Leon chaos scrolls, which can only provide up to +2 to any stat - only 60% VL belt INT give +20 magic defense. So based on @Matt's own post about it, that would satisfy their requirement for it to be changed
As said before, I shouldn't need videos as the magic def on it proves it's been 60%'d instead of chaosed. I wasn't streaming when I scrolled it, but I did manage to find videos for 3/4 slots on the belt, with just the first slot after soul (and soul itself) missing. Note that this was during the update where the server clock caused crashing issues (or was removed, can't remember) so there's no ~servertime timestamps on them - I just took a video for proof incase WSing went wrong as there were a couple claims at that time, so I wanted video evidence just in case. Do note that I've left the file timestamps in, which is going to be PST Slots #3 and #4: Slot #5 (finished): Yeah overall I'm quite happy with my untradable luck - finished with pretty much everything except krex ring (and VL belt, again I guess )
After seeing the few posts above it was for certain VL 60%'d just off of the magic def alone, I guess now we await the news from Staff. I only mentioned if you had any videos it would only help your case. It's a shame that it comes down to self-accountability to record stuff.
Will forward the above for the Admins to review Note: I cannot guarantee anything as a Forum Mod As there are some misunderstandings about Matt's reply, would be seeking clarification for this as well The closing of the thread doesn't mean I am locking Sylafia (or any other player) out for reviews by Admins or other Staff for the request Also, I have reopened the thread Yes, communication is indeed important - players do have the right to ask for the reasoning (not disagreeing about that) About the fuel the fires, I am not sure what you mean - I have been closing [Character Issues] with reasoning for the threads (in the situation if I did not do so, players would request for reasoning and I would always reply, you may refer to the previous [Character Issues]) Made the post/reply at midnight and went to sleep About the reply made, I did confirm with the Staff team, including the Admins before posting it However, I do acknowledge my issue of not including the detailed reasoning - apologies for causing any misunderstandings (will check in with the Admins)
I understand that closing the thread doesn't lock it, it just gives the look of "we have made our decision, and that is final" Appreciate the thread being changed back to open and for open discussion to now be taking place My comment about fuelling fires, from my perspective, is to highlight this is not the first time in the past month in which lack of detailed staff communication has caused friction between players and staff ( I note the change to VL CS as exhibit A) this was in no way supposed to be directed at any single staff member more of the collective staff as a whole. I appreciate as always your comments and time in being forum mod. To me it seems at times you take the "brunt" of the community dissatisfaction with decisions made, which i dont feel is fair. I really would like to see Staff/Admins provide comment and details on situations such as this and item/game changes as well. (I also note this is just my opinion and may not be the general consensus, just my 2 cents) Probably should have done a feedback rather than piggy back on my friends character issue, which is something I will take note off. (Sorry @Sylafia)
Understand your concerns about the matter, I can only re-direct you to the right channels such as the Feedback for Von Leon stuff https://royals.ms/forum/threads/feedback-request-von-leon.210514/page-18 If you have concerns about multiple Feedback, may also consolidate like what this player did (or add on to his post) https://royals.ms/forum/threads/imp...-community-regarding-feedback-threads.229119/ Unfortunately, I am unable to comment much on the VL belt + scrolls, or any other high-level content (Rose Garden/Bossing etc) due to my playstyle on Royals I have forwarded Sylafia's concerns to the Staff team (including Admins), just waiting for their reply
Regarding the request to adjust the belt stats, we regret to inform you that we cannot fulfill this request for the following reasons. 1) it would be unfair to other players if Staff were to make adjustments for one individual without extending the same courtesy to everyone else facing a similar situation. 2) such manual changes on a case-by-case basis might create disparities and breed feelings of unfairness among our player base, especially in terms of refunds or adjustments. 3) even if a player possesses sufficient evidence of the item's history (scrolling), many others may not have similar documentation (video or screenshots). Making adjustments solely based on individual evidence could disenfranchise those who are unable to provide such proof.
It seems like all your points are related to it being potentially unfair for other players, which may or may not even exist. Seeing as literally no one else has made a thread about this, I severely doubt they do, or if anyone did use a stat 60% they didn't really care much and used it as a temporary belt while they work on a better one. I think someone on discord put it better than I can So as it turns out, for most belts it should be possible to trace the exact balance of CS/stat 60%s that were used, if anyone else ever does want theirs adjusted. This should remove any claims about adjusting it being inherently unfair. I understand that fairness also may be a concern for future items and scroll changes, and that if my request is accepted, they might point back to this thread, and ask for an item that can't be proven to have been scrolled with the adjusted scroll. To handle these future cases, I strongly recommend 2 things: Being extremely confident when adding new scrolls that they won't need to be buffed in the future Keep logs of scrolls being used and the results of them (pass/fail/cs stat changes). This is something that should already exist, and it's a shame that they don't seem to. Would probably help a lot in confirming scrolling activity for some suspicious activity RWT cases as a side bonus. As for previous changes, as far as I know the only scroll changes that have happened besides this on the server were the face/eye scroll changes, mainly changing eye accuracy -> eye HP, and changing eye int to give some MA instead of full int. Since both of these changes make the new stats weaker, I don't think anyone is going to ask to have their equips changed. In summary: There shouldn't be any past scroll changes that people would want edited, so no unfairness there Anyone (= probably 0 other people) who wants their belt edited should be able to have their scrolling path confirmed, so no unfairness here Adding logs to scrolling would make things traeable for the future, so any changes in the future should be able to be compensated, so no unfairness there. As such, who is this unfair to? As has been pointed out, it seems like I'm being unfairly punished for daring to actually work on my gear. Also, if we're bringing up fairness I'd like to point out that every single person I have told this about, including people who don't know me well, say that it's unfair that my belt isn't getting adjusted. I don't have an exact count, but I've probably told 20+ people about it. In an attempt to be fair to unknown people who most likely don't exist, staff is instead being unfair to a dedicated player who's been running Von Leon for over a year.
Im just gunna say it......this is the biggest bullshit response ive ever read. The Staff should be ashamed of themselves. yes this is a free mushroom game but fuck me, people put a lot of time and effort into this game and to be swept away with 3 relatively bullshit points is shameful. As sylafia has already mentioned, NOT A SINGLE OTHER PLAYER has queried this, yet you are unwilling to assist??? What you are telling the player base at this point is to never scroll anything ever again as if you take it upon yourselves to change scrolls your not going to update current gear???? Cant you see how insane that is??? DO BETTER! Edit: Hiding behind forum mod is woeful. Not a single GM/Admin has commented. Pathetic.
I have forwarded the above comments to the Staff team I would also like to clarify this part, the GMs and Admins are not hiding behind me (Forum Mod) It is just that I have always handled the [Character Issues] as a Forum Mod while the GMs handle [Report Abuse] or patrol for hackers
