I mean this in the kindest way possible:

What was the strategy behind offering them 3b less than the raw offer I put in this thread? Why not just refer them to the thread/me/11063?

We've been trying to get ahold of this person for 24 hours straight, and the first response we got is a result of a slew of one-sided messages containing a significantly lower offer than the current one listed here.

I really wish that your efforts were to refer them to at least 11063, so that we could try and negotiate.

This is pretty disheartening to hear as I wasn’t able to receive a response at all despite my attempts however, I now know who the individual was that purchased my xbow and am aware that they do not intend to negotiate it’s return to me.

Nevertheless, thank you so much to everyone who rallied behind me or reached out. I really appreciate it!

I'm 100% sure this person is aware to the thread, and I was trying my best to help in this situation by actively searching for him as well.

I am actually quite shocked you responded in that manner, and I almost feel attacked for trying to offer an addition of my own gear to help out 11063.

20201019 actively ignored 11063 so I was trying to approach the said person, and searched for him for quite a while, even in the middle of the night (the conversation that was posted earlier on was around 4 AM my time).

you think he/she didn't see this thread and didn't see your 8b offer?

I was attempting to speak to his/her heart, and that's all.

I apologize If I screwed things up in some way, but the answer wouldn't have changed regardless on who's the person contacting him - either me or you or anybody else who approached him - the said person is determined not to return the weapon, and that's it.

I understand that blaming me for the failure is quite easy, but If the intention was never there, was it really my fault?

 

If this xbow actually is worth 13B like the dude in your merch said (im not sure about the orice myself), the total amount people has offered already surpassed that. You can just ask him to resell it to you for the whole price, might get him to be responsive

I feel you.. I did the exact same the other day, although it wasn't as expensive as your item. I put yellow snowshoe worth 1.5b for 150m and it got sold immediately lol.. but I was lucky enough to contact the person who bought it, and offered to buy it back for 400m and he accepted At the end of the day it's just a game we're trying to have fun after busy day at work and the life stress, try to be nice to people, and it will come around.

 

Okay update for those following:

1. We have identified who 20201019 is. It is, in fact, 19921224, tagged earlier in this thread by NANI1. The name is a date format. Their profile is public. If you go to a thread dated OCT23, 2020, or 20201023 if you follow the date format, there is a long thread of items being sold. On there is one, cute, level 43 maple xbow. In the screenshot you can see 20201019, inventory open, in the screenshot. That person has come to this thread, saw we were looking for it, and decided not to respond. That is where this will end: Xbow is not being sold back. Which, to be clear, is their right. I just wish we could have been dignified with a response.

We are now changing direction.

2. We have started a fund for 11063 to get them a replacement Xbow. As it stands, its at about 13b (5bcoin, 14ws, 2cs). If you are wanting to donate to help them in replacement, you can reach out to me (IGN: Golfcart), and I'll make sure it gets back to 11063.

Again, appreciate the attempts in both tracking down and trying to negotiate.

The buyer is from NNNN guild and they do watch this thread just for entertainment purpose. And they do not want to resell the Xbow anyway whatsoever mainly because they hate women, ppl funding for this, and some other weird reasons. Some people's true colors are just horrible.

Seen this sort of thing happen before on this server and in other games and basically always follow the same pattern:

1. If an unknown/no-name player makes this mistake and sells or drops a high value item accidentally (in any online game, not just Royals), the game community's response in an online forum would typically be like "who cares" and maybe 1-2 people tops would even respond to the thread and be like, "sorry the sucks".
2. If a relatively well-liked, apparently earnest player (such as OP) makes the mistake people may start rallying behind him/her to try to coax the person who got the good deal of the mistake to return it.

Obviously in Royals since it's a small/tight community compared to most online games, I've seen people do #2 response a lot more compared to most other (larger) online games. If memory serves correctly, I think I've seen it happen once in Royals before when a veteran player dropped a high value item, a small witch hunt happened against the random player who picked it up to the point of guilt tripping the more casual, random player who picked up the item until he gave it back to avoid being vilified/shunned by the community and he probably quit after that. LOL.

I'm not trying to be a dick towards OP it's just this kinda situation basically follows the same script every time and kinda depends on how much the community cares about the person who made the mistake, how much the person who got the misplaced item cares about this game, and how much they feel badgered by the community to give it back.
To OP, sorry that happened and you can genuinely try to recover the item as much as you want but bottom line is since this is a game and not real life, there aren't necessarily the same rules/laws or morals to protect accidental loss of property as there are in (developed) countries. For instance in real life, if someone accidentally entered one more zero when paying a bill online (i.e. paying $10k rent instead of $1k rent), or something similar happened when signing a deal on a car payment ($300k instead of $30k), I believe there are generally laws to help protect the individual in that kind of situation if it was clearly a genuine mistake.

 

You're on point with your observation, I fall into your first category, I tried to post & smega my situation on both forums and in-game but the general reaction from everyone was kinda like "deal with it, lel". I moved on and somehow I bumped into the guy who bought my item recently and we actually joked about that, he offered my item back, I refused and made a new friend in Royals.
