I wonder if a witch hunt could be classified as falling under the rule saying:

• Hacking or attacking any user or moderator with the intent of interfering with their ability to properly make use of the server

Surely a witch hunt like you described it hinders a user his/her ability to properly play the game, while having done nothing outside the rules to deserve such treatment.

Are you seriously defending the buyer after what 19890604 previously said? We are not trying to incite a witch hunt against him, but if it’s true that he is completely uninterested in returning the xbow even at a good price and has sat back and watched for entertainment as 11063 (Julie) has desperately plead for the past 48 hours for him to resell the xbow to her since it was a mistake and on top of that dislike the fact that her friends and other kind players in this community are willing to donate their own money to support her so she can get back on her feet then this guy absolutely deserves to be shunned and ostracized for such disgusting, vile behavior.

I understand that this information has not yet come out of his own mouth, so if he would like to either confirm or deny this stance he should do so in this thread. However, it seems that 19890604 is a credible source since they are also in the guild NNNN (which btw had many members visit Julie to see her waiting next to 20201019 while he was afk and ignoring her). I also understand that this is not the first time something like this has happened in mapleroyals, but we need to put our foot down to send the message that we don't want to tolerate the excusal of callous free market behavior.

 

nah really cuz like its just a private server of an old ass game that we're all just trying to enjoy - it's not that serious as to just blatantly take advantage of some obvious mistake, you're robbing someone's time and energy and that's like straight up evil lol

 

I think you better off take whatever the people in here can provide for you and start making a new xbow. getting it back from him prob imposible. learn from this mistake, at least its ingame and not irl!

I hope you at the very least pull a saledor and re-sell the xbow back to OP because 1) it's difficult to find a perfect xbow for OP now and 2) you are going to have a hard time selling it since you will need to explain the origin of this item in the due diligence without lying

I don't mind being the middleman if you both agree to it. Tho I hope you return the xbow to OP in the first place

@19921224 Thank you for confirming your inability to do the right thing despite given multiple opportunities and showing us that you have no empathy for the OP who spent months of saved money to scroll the xbow and one day after a long day of work and taking care of family was exhausted and accidentally listed their xbow at more than 20b below the market value. You are a great service to our FM community and I hope you enjoy selfishly spending your newfound billions.

It’s clear they watched the thread.

It’s clear they had no intention to respond (whether it’s not caring or not wanting the drama).

It appears that, once sleuthed out and identified, they had no reason to stay anonymous anymore. (Ex. They responded promptly to me).

I just wish, in all of that time we spent trying to hunt them down, they would have just told us “not interested in selling back to you specifically.”

In their defense, it would have been a bad look to immediately come here upon the posting of the thread and to say, “Yeah, you can have it back for 20b”. We’ve seen how badly that’s gone.

I wish we’d have gotten that time saved, but such is the cut of this.

I do want to use this opportunity to say we’re up to about 18.5b collected now, and we’ve had like 10 people in the past 24 hours contact me when I smega to say nice things about 11063, hoping they won’t quit, and wanting to help. It’s been very very nice to read. I’ll be making a thank you/restoration post giving credit to all those who donated once that’s completed.

11063, we got you. We’ll get this replaced, despite the circumstances. We want you here to stay. <3.

People tried buying that xbow back from you from this thread and you just gave them a big NOPE and just sold it to someone else and not even saying who's that person.

I'm not gonna lie - It's starting to be really easy to believe what that dude said about you (the NNNN guild member).

 

Who you sell it to? How much you sell it for?

 

Reprehensible behavior, truly brings shame to the Taiwanese community. The item will be recovered in due time, contrary to their reputation.

Wow, I didn’t expect this thread to blow up in the way that it did…

I have been a player on this server for nearly two years and I look back on the majority of that time fondly. Those who know me know that I am often online but usually unable to commit time to do much content- such is the reality of being a full-time working parent with young children. I’m sure many can relate to this! My focus has always been friendships and treating others the way I’d want to be treated.

I have enjoyed being here and know that the majority of the community is kind. That was the reason why I tried to appeal publicly and find the buyer. I can’t stress enough that I understood what happened was entirely my fault and that there was never any obligation to return my item. My post wasn’t intended to start a witch hunt so I’m sorry to anyone who thought it came off that way. I just have very passionate friends and guildies to whom I am super grateful. It was a long shot and I ultimately didn’t achieve what I set out to do but I wanted to at least try.

I had accepted what happened and stepped away, was honestly just going to either take a long break or stop playing altogether. Afterall when you have so minimal free time as I do, the amount of progress lost in that single item is staggering and it was daunting to think of having to work back up all over again. However the overwhelming support and generosity that I have received from friends and strangers alike has been so insane..

I struggle so much with the concept and idea of gifts whether large or small so the fact that people came together to amass so much for me is so moving. I can’t say enough how thankful I am to everyone… you’ve all helped to keep this little hobby of mine alive and if there’s anything that I can do to repay you I will. The guilt carries though that this is all because of me and my mistake and for that I’m sorry. Thanks so much to everyone.
