Community Blacklist

Now that's a spicy take.

 

1. This is a little different, so I'll list in order what happened to me
   I was being persistently SMOKED by him even before I left a comment on his FORUM ACOUNT. I was uncomfortable because he would do it for days. One time he smoked me as usual and I was watching him at the time. As soon as it happened I told him to stop with a character named etumimi. However, he did not return my pm so I commented directly to the forum.
   He then replied with a message of apology saying he didn't mean it, and I confirmed his reply and forgave him for his actions, but he remains on my own blacklist (which is not an in-game blacklist), because I want nothing to do with him. I don't know why his comment was deleted and he only has a picture of that reply, but as you can see from my very first post, his reply of apology exists and I remembered it because I confirmed it.
   He probably know my IGN at this time and I told him that I don’t want anything to do with him.
   I kept saying this happened in last August.
   As others have said, sometimes PMs are not returned for various reasons. I don't mean to be rude, but I have had experiences in the past that my pm’s getting ignored/ignoring someone’s pm.
   I’ve seen both shadowers fm, at that time im not 100% those 2 are the same person but I’d like to lower the chance that I might be playing with someone that I don’t want to get involved with.
   And as a result of my continued ignoring him, he sought me out and came to lower my FAME. I am outraged at the actions of someone who has gone out of his way to find me ingame just to lower my FAME. I have two clients on so I saw this happaned. I was so angry here that I sent him a pml to the second shadower and told him not to lower my FAME. (I apologize for the cussing in Japanese).
   He didn’t reply after that, and I was still angry, so I smegad about it. I used a word I shouldn't have used at the end of a sentence. I apologized again.
   I told him that I no longer want to be involved with the past. If he promises not to get involved in the future, I have nothing more to say.
   As the person who replied above concluded, the basic premise is that I was harassed by him for days (which I found offensive), he was not blacklisted because he lowered my FAME!
   As others have said I am at the center of these incidents for some reason. So when I’m recruiting for boss run I’d check if the ign is on my blacklist or the community blacklist. This is being done by asking other guild members to check with me. I also limit the number of people on my friendlist to prevent something like this from happening. I normally ignores any friend request because I’m taking every precaution possible.

So if there was any possibility redo smoke screen, make it only visible to the players that affected by that skill?

 

Even if there is, I don't think this should be of any priority..... There's basically no upside for spending time doing this

it's also kind of off topic as it's not so much a discussion on whether smoking is toxic or not (personally think the majority are indifferent to being smoked anyways)

I don't think this matter should have been handled publicly.
I don't consider the actions of either party blacklist worthy ( at least in terms of the community )
Personal and Guild Blacklist are obviously enforceable in such matters but involving the community because you couldn't follow your own advice of 'ignoring' the player feels a bit hypocritical.

 

Even a forum profile post is public to others and can cast a one sided story.
PM's exist for this very reason.

I don't think it's appropriate to assume what his intentions nor thoughts are.
This is about what actions he's currently conducted NOT what he might conduct in the future.

I strongly disagree with this point.
The community blacklist and report feature should be used to punish players who have conducted themselves in a harmful way to the community NOT because two children bickered about some imaginary fame score.

 

I have no problem with Etu not wishing to engage with Veen but making a blacklist post about the incident is counterproductive to that very concept.

I feel like the issue was resolved(ended) after the defame/smegas but then escalated once more due to the blacklist post.
If they are incapable of communicating their frustrations and complaints to one another than they should simply avoid one another for their foreseeable playtime.

I'm not suggesting that we silence people's voices but I wish small disputes were promptly dealt with.
It shouldn't take three pages to clear up this incident.
Particularly when a large portion of the community views this submission as 'petty'.

如上面所說的，問題不在他們原先發生的經歷，而是事後的 OP廣播、被舉報者PM沒得到回覆後而去扣名聲。OP 『憤而私信他並要求得到回覆』

如上所言及，您的話語都是繞著etumini的權益出發的，這是後來我想@您的最大原因，請您真正公正的討論，如果您無法，就請讓blacklist的版主來就好，謝謝。

it's giving "have you tried talking to your harasser"... the only thing this possibly accomplishes is making the victim feel like their feelings aren't validated while attempting to push them into a confrontation that they have already expressed that they don't want/find uncomfortable. I fail to see how this is constructive in any way, especially being uttered by someone with a staff tag to their name.
