IGN: KingFog{Daniel} KingFrost {John} Last Thing you did: Both grinding at Petri's on our own claimed map.\ Why do you think you got banned. Frost and I were falsely reported by a player {rambo0021} and subsequently ban after rambo came into a map that we had been training on for an extended period and abused the ~mapowner function in order to pretend that he was already on the map. Furthermore he only showed a partial view of the chatlog further using deception in order to appear without fault. Ban message when attempting to log in: Your account has been temporarily banned for harassment and/or kill-stealing. What GM Ban: John Extra Details: Frost and I had already been on this GS2 Map for along time. We only newly came to this server and didn't know we had the ability to claim a map which is clearly shown when I attempted to use the nonexistent function ~claimmap. This shows I really didn't know it was possible for us to do in the first place, which is the only reason we had not done so. Rambo enters the map most likely aggravated all the channels are full and abuses the function to pretend that he was already on the map that we had been using. This ban is not only off just the word of a player but one who incorrectly sited his ban skewed the screenshot and chat log and isn't even willing to put in a correctly written sentence to explain why we should be punished for his abuse. Here is a screenshot of the log that shows me attempting to explain the situation to him. Furthermore Frost's remark{ while slightly rude} has been sited as somehow evidence that we are a "toxic duo" when in reality we are friendly and in no way abusive KSers.
http://royals.ms/forum/threads/report-on-gs2.24116/#post-141056 I would like to reference to this thread as it is highly important to the situation. I address my misunderstanding of the ~mapowner system and still address why this situation in no way warrants a three day ban.
I'll reiterate a lot of the same things that I did in that thread here as well; The way ~mapowner works, for the players that do not know, is that it records the last interaction every player that is 1) on the map and 2) has had a relevant recent interaction regardless of current location, and when the command is used, it regurgitates this information to the player who used it, as well as giving a mapwide message to all players who "owns" the map, based on that same information. Relating this to the situation at hand, now; ramboTW2 used the ~mapowner command and it showed that he was the owner of the map; this means that all other players on the map had not actively done anything to interact with the map (read: hitting any monster at all, or even using an attack that doesn't hit anything) in the last ~2mins or so, and that any other characters that had passed through the map were no longer relevant either. This means the map belongs to him, regardless of how long you and your friend had been AFK there. To clarify; so long as a player is constantly attacking, they will never lose ownership of the map, and by extension, that means if you do lose ownership of a map, it means that you were not attacking for a good length of time. Your ignorance of the way the system works is unfortunately not an excuse to kill-steal from another player. If you were truly unsure about the situation, you should have called for a Game Master to explain it to you and resolve this in another way; there were no attempts by you to do so (and I know this because I happen to know I was around at the time personally, as well as the fact that your screenshots do not show the successful message sent notice). I'm sorry, but you'll have to sit your three day ban. Please read the Terms and Conditions in order to prevent this sort of thing from happening again.
For the record. I don't see how you could say I should have called a GM. These messages clearly show me trying to talk to Rambo. He did map owner function and left in literally about 3 seconds flat as he is in his screenshot and not mine and those were taken about 15 seconds. He displayed map owner and CCed away to report giving us absolutely no chance whatsoever to call a GM or talk or anything. Your comment implies that if I had atleast reached out to someone of authority to question the situation my ban would probably be lifted. How am I supposed to do that when not given a second to do so. It makes no sense that I would think I would have to given the context from thread 1 and the fact that he just CCed instantly.
My point was simply a suggestion that you could have asked what the notice that the other player owned the map means instead of assuming he used some sort of "map stealing" command and tried to kill-steal him over it. Any GM would have told you that if you attack any mobs that way, this would be the result, and would have cautioned you against it. If you hadn't attacked any mobs on the map and simply waited for him to leave as quickly as you said he did, you wouldn't be banned right now.
