Hi! I whitelisted my account (michaelsun) with my roommate (haeyoon) and got approved but we still can't vote in the same household? Do we just always need to switch off voting or is there anything else we can do? Thank you!

You need to be using different IP addresses to vote, because otherwise the server will not benefit from both of your votes.

To do this, one of you should vote from a smartphone. If neither of you have one, then you are probably out of luck (note that if you were not on the whitelist, then one of you voting on a smartphone would NOT be allowed). Being on the white list gives you authorises one of you to vote from a smartphone, despite the fact that you normally play on the same IP address.

    Oh okay i understand now.
I've been accepted on the whitelist but I still can't vote each day!
    • Secondly, if both of you use the same computer to play MapleRoyals from, the system will see you both as the same person and only allow one vote per 24 hours. If you each have your own computer, it's best to stick to playing on your own computer to avoid this happening. If you only have one computer between you, then unfortunately you will have to take turns voting. This is inbuilt into the the system itself, and the whitelist cannot override it.
My roommate been using my computer to play because i have a nicer computer. So if she starts to play on her own computer, will she be able to vote as well after 24 hours?

Computers have MAC addresses. Network connections (e.g. a router that you get your wifi from) have IP addresses. If both computers are being connected through the same internet connection, then they will have the same IP address. This is no good for voting - only one of you can vote on that IP address.

Like I said, one of you will need to use a smartphone.

Both MAC address and IP address are used to detect problems on Mapleroyals. This is why you are advised to each use your own computer to play the server - it makes it clearer you are indeed two separate people.

What I am trying to say is as long as she stops playing from my computer, will she be able to start voting from her phone?
Because currently, we have the same MAC addresses since shes been playing on my computer.
However, does this MAC address reset every 24 hours or will she never be able to vote again?
