Character Name: Tanukis Where are you having an issue(s): Launching MapleRoyals.exe Date and Time when issue(s) occurred (GMT): Today Details of the issue: Unable to launch the client from the executable on the native display. Running in compatibility mode for Windows 7 with administrator privileges. Native display refresh rate set to 60hz. Host operating system Windows 11 Home version 22H2. What error code were you given(if any): error code : -2147467259 (Unspecified error) I just picked up an Asus ROG Ally portable gaming computer and am experiencing some issues running MapleRoyals on the native display. When attached to a docking station with an external monitor hooked up via hdmi, I have no issues running MapleRoyals. The external display is able to support the 800x600 resolution MapleRoyals requires. However, the native display only supports 3 options: 640x480, 1280x720, and 1920x1080 (all 60hz refresh rate). There is no way to configure a resolution setting of 800x600 from the AMD GPU drivers. I tried setting a custom resolution as described in some other guides, but the option is unavailable for the native display. I do have the ability to set a custom resolution for the external display. It doesn't seem to be an issue with the hardware or the APU that this device is running, as it worked flawlessly when hooked into an external monitor. Does anyone have any suggestions or any ideas of how to get this running on the native display? It would be amazing to play this handheld and not need to be hooked into the dock. Thanks!~
Same here unfortunately. I did manage to change the resolution to 800x600 and changed to 60hz but still the same error. Running as admin or compatibility mode changes also didn't help.
I got it to work once (800x600 in windowed) then tried to change the resolution to 1024x768 and had an issue where only part of the screen was showing (in full screen). Then I exited rebooted, after which I'm now only facing "Screen mode failed to initialize. Please change your refresh rate to 60hz and make sure you're running on a 16:9 screen resolution". I've re-installed the game, and tried many resolutions (800x600, 1280x800, 1920x1080) and made sure the refresh rate is still at 60hz. I also tried deleting the registry entries as they were setting the game res to 1024x768. I'm trying to see if something else helps, for the meantime anyone trying this make sure you keep your game res at 800x600. UPDATE! I went ahead and did a full search on everything maple in my windows registry and found some items I missed. Then I did a full re-install again and added 800x600 again as a custom res (let me know if you need help on this) and it works again. Both windowed and full screen @ 800x600, I do not dare to test out 1024x768 anymore.. UPDATE2 So I couldn't resist and try 1024x768, you know more pixelx. When changing from 800x600 it however only shows the middle 800x600 part and the rest of the window is not there. Luckily it's just enough to still switch back to 800x600.
Hello, I bought a ROG ally for Christmas and was wondering if you can help me run mapleroyals without the dock. As you mentioned, it runs fine whenever docked, but I get the same error whenever I try to play on the native display. You mentioned you had to download a few items, can you share your discoveries? Thank you!
I was able to get this working using the registry edit documented in this YouTube video: You can download it in the video description. Use this at your own discretion and know that you can't undo the registry edit easily after attempting it. I would recommend making a restore point in windows before attempting.
Hey there am having the same issues on the Lenovo legion Go. Having a hard time trying to customise the resolution on it. Could you help me with this by any chance?
Edit since updating my Asus Ally has removed the registry edit and the link I originally posted from the other youtube video has expired... This link contains the registry edit to get 800x600 from my personal drive, please save it and back it up yourself if you have an Asus Ally and want to play in the future. I can't guarantee that this will work forever. Again, I would recommend making a system restore point before enacting this registry edit to be safe. You may need to reinstate it after updating as I have. Luckily, I made a backup, as you should too.
