Hey all, first time posting here
I really enjoyed the game so far, the grind, the quests, the pqs and above all the community (!)
I managed to fulfill a lot of my “bucket list”, discovered a lot of cool fun stuff to do that I wasn’t even aware of when I was a kid 15-17 years ago when I played the game for the first time

but now sadly I’m getting bored, I’m level 80 and find myself doing the same things over and over again and again, until this level I always had a “goal”, “reach 30 for 2 job” “reach 43 for the weapon you always wanted as a kid”, “reach 51 for new pq” “reach 70 for 3 job!!!”

but now I have nothing to aim for, level 100+ seems so far away (I only have time to play 2 maybe 3 hours a day) and it seems like there is nothing much to do between 80-100+ other then doing the same pq over and over again

how are you all continue to play? How do find the drive?

I really like to continue and get to 4th job but at this point I don’t see it happening

Ah, the level 80 slump. You've got enough SP to max out the one useful skill from the 3rd job and now it just looks like a long tunnel to 120. The only things that managed to keep my interest at this point in the game are:

    - Monster book medal
    - Quest Specialist medal
    - Farming during certain events
    - Farming for a specific weapon and scrolls (while watching movies)
    - Start a new character (for a weird challenge mode instead of a real meta character)

Wish there's more new pq/map I can pioneer.
Old maplestory is two different game before and after RJPQ.
    Next pq is EPQ(Lv110up).

I remember the level 80 - 120 grind being brutal. I know it may seem kinda lame, but I'd recommend leeching through most of it. Especially if you feel super bored otherwise.

80-125 is really hard cause of the lack of quests and IMO, theres a pretty huge jump in terms of the monster difficulty during these levels
but the game definitely peaks after 135 where you can regularly start bossing for levels and wealth

PPQ is still good exp for now and you can grind for decent mesos/levels depending on your class and gear (I grinded a ton at wolf spiders when I was new and unfunded)

This should net you a decent bank to buy skele leech to jump you from 108-120!

    Its worth the grind

I highly recommend voting daily, spending all of your NX from voting on APRs, selling them, and saving up your mesos to buy leech (during which you can just afk). Doing this is a passive way to advance through the game during these more tedious levels, and it effectively costs you no play time.

That said, you can spend the play time you do have doing whatever you think is fun. You can APQ to make even more mesos, try to find a party for PPQ (very good EXP for your level), grind for a medal, or try experimenting with new training spots. I also recommend you try to make the most out of the community by joining a guild if you haven't.

Bro just forget leveling. Try to meet people and explore maple world.

I think that this game isn't supposed to be a machine entertainment and you're not a calculator to just sell damage, even recognizing that its cool to see that you are strong. But always remember that someone will always be stronger than you, even don't being on your party, doesn't cares how strong you are.

All that just pulls you to enjoy maple community, know different cultures and try the game environment.

You're not a machine, you don't need to focus on your power.

(I play focused on talking to people and improve my english, I learned what you're reading right now of english all thanks to Maple Royals. My main fun talking about "calculator/power game" is to try my best making money on fm, but I'd prefer talking to people by far.)

    Have fun friend <3

I think the best way is to “switch things up” and to set goals. What job are you? Look at the library and find mobs who drop something you might want (sellable scroll/etc, godly eq for you)

I grinded 80-90 doing 1-2 levels at PPQ (like 13%/run in the early 80s (so 2-3ish levels in 2-3hours) and alternating with grinding at gobies to bulk sell steel ores AND get the 90 pirate hat

Then grind 1-2 level, pap prequest, 1-2 level , Olaf quest for HP, 1-2 level, Scar/Targ prequest, etc.

Just keep progressing but at your own pace you know? You gotta enjoy yourself first and foremost

After 90 you can do Temple of Time, Ellin PQ quests so it’s a nice change of pace!!

Same thing happened to me when I first started playing this game. Made a new character, got it to around lvl 80-90, then got bored and made another one. Eventually I found a class that I enjoyed leveling up enough (DK) that I eventually was able to reach 4th job with it. Btw, these are the levels that funded players typically just leech through as they are quite tedious for most classes.

Eos tower is such a nostalgic place, I remember spent my whole week to climb from the bottom to the top of the eos tower back when I was a dumb child who got ported to Omega Sector by some NPC[:(]

honestly you should be doing quests. This is a great way to achieve short term goals and get long term exp gains. you also gain a medal from questing which is quite good. you dont want to return to vic island to collect mush spores at lvl 120+ anyway so you might as well knock em out now. Some future content requires questing for bosses etc. so this would be my go too. Also join a guild, and join others in content or helping achieve goals.

To echo what @Lo_G said, joining a guild is perhaps the number one thing you can do to increase your enjoyment of this game. So much so that I would say it is an essential and necessary feature for most players (there are ppl the like to play solo as well). With access to a guild and its members, you gain a substatial amount of replay-value: make friends (and enemies LOL it can happen), ask guildies to join your pq or grind together, talk shit and make jokes with your guildies, help out other lower-level guildies and receive help from more experienced higher-level guildies, and so much more.

Apart from this, there are 3 other things that you can make as your goals:
    1. HP goals
    2. Money
    3. Quests

There are minimum HP requirements for bosses/pqs down the line . The process of acquiring enough HP can involve many in-game activities (making money to wash and acquire INT gear and APRs, doing Olaf and Ellinia HP quests, acquiring gear such as medals and equipment that increases HP). Primarily for new players, you just need to focus on Olaf quests and Ellinia HP quest (and reuel's quests later). google "mapleroyals how to play unwashed" for a comprehensive overview of various HP sources.

Money and wealth are fundamental aspects of this game. FM is an integral to every-day-maple-life, especially for long-term play. Using your NX from voting, buy a store from Cash Shop and start selling and learning prices of items you acquire from your other in-game activities, and how to acquire or create valuable items.
Gaining & Having More money = Access to More Content and Ease of Play

There are many quests that offer good exp (google "Mapleroyals quests worth doing"). But like other's have said there are several quests that will unlock other content. Off the top of my head, here are some lower level quests:
    - Pet quests (Adventurer's Assignment 1 (first olaf quest), Follow the Leader, Kenta's advice)
    - Get married (Unlocks APQ, but really APQ is really only available to 4th jobs for the most part)
    - Mount quests ("Monster Riding" at lvl 70 and "Silver Mane" at lvl 120)
    - Alcaster's "In search of the book of ancient" quest (lvl 55, VERY long and can be expensive for new players). Allows you to purchase Magic rocks, Summoning rocks, and All-cure potions.
    - Eurek's "Wandering Alchemist" quest (~lvl20 i think, enables you to scroll items that you are unable to equip)
    - Zak prequests + Zak helm (lvl 50)
    - Captain Latanica prequest and the actual Latanica boss (technically infinite NX from this boss, but very low drop rate of NX cards)
    - Papulatus prequests (can start around lvl 70)
    - Krex prequests (can start around lvl 70)
    - Balrog PQ prequests and Balrog Boss (new! around lvl 75 i think, havent actually done this one myself)
    - Crimsonwood Keep Party Quest (CWKPQ) prequests (Very hard and long chain of quests, can be completed throughout all of 3rd job i.e. levels 70-120)
    - Scarlion and Targa prequests (lvl 90 iirc)
    - Horntail prequests (can start around lvl 80, but will basically require you to be 4th job to complete i think)

This game truly has infinite content. EMBRACE THE GRIND.
