Proposal: Disable the setting (or change the scope from Staff to Admin only) Background: - Forum users can ignore other users by adding them to "Settings > People You Ignore" - Ignored users dissaper from your world - you won't ever see their names, posts or profile pics - I've been adding toxic/mean users to protect myself from seeing those things when browsing forum Problem: - Attached error occured when adding a Staff to the ignore list - I need to add someone who harassed me before but is now a Staff Rationale: - Admin could be an exception (reason for the scope change suggestion) - "Administration. Development & Support" section could be an exception to force users to see Staffs' important notice Direct feedback from @Dave Deviluke would be appreciated as this is a forum mod matter. I will respect your decision even if my proposal is declined.
Regarding your concern, Staff cannot be "ignored" as Staff members may post important updates from time to time such as announcements or handling of Ban Appeals If someone has harassed you before (even if it's before being a Staff), we would strongly recommend submitting a report so that the rest of the Staff is aware of it Note: this is to prevent biased handling of matters such as closing reports despite valid evidence being provided (For me personally, I also avoid handling reports of players that clashed with me before)
Hi Dave, thanks for your feedback and I fully understand that. For better forum experiences, would you consider adding "Ignore Threads" setting too? I should be under the same add-on as "Ignore Users" so there is no additional cost to install. I do not click it anyway but the thread being there is uncomfortable because it is full of toxic and hate. Such things should not exist in my happy maple world. Currently, if I want to ignore the thread I have to ignore the op Shiratsuyu even though I want to see other posts from the same person such as selling items.
Not sure if that add-on is possible, will check with Web Dev about it Personally I am neutral on these add-ons, is just a matter of technical issue - whether possible to add them Edit: just noticed that this add-on is meant for Xenforo 2 We are still on Xenforo 1 (much limited add-ons)
