How to open Red Envelopes?

Hi guys, I'm new to Maple Royals and I'm so excited to relive my Maplestory nostalgia here!

Just wondering how to open the red envelopes before the event finishes? Am I supposed to open it with Mr. Moneybags but where is he?

 

I assume you've signed up for your faction?

The corresponding faction NPC in the FM takes you to their temple. Mr. Moneybags is in there.

 

Oh what are factions?! I think I've only played the really old Maple and I've no idea what factions are..

Please enlighten me
