The original Mage class is suitable for farming but not for bossing, so I/L and F/P are not considered for bossing parties. However, I want to propose an idea regarding the feasibility of a Battle Mage and the necessary restrictions for balancing it. Restrictions: The Mage's single-target DPS must be lower than the lowest existing attacker. I think we can use Krex speed-run posts as a reference. Mages should only reach bossing-viable DPS at very high levels (180–190+). Mages must sacrifice some useful skills to become battle Mage. Skills to be adjusted: Chain Lightning / Paralyze Ice Demon / Fire Demon Big Bang Adjustments: Chain Lightning / Paralyze – Increase max level to 60, with Lv. 60 attack power being about 1.2–1.3x of Lv. 30. Ice Demon / Fire Demon – Increase max level to 60, adding a cooldown after Lv. 31 while adjusting attack power / hit count / number of targets. Example: 20s, 30s, or 40s cooldown. Big Bang – Increase max level to 60, adding a significantly longer cooldown after Lv. 31 while greatly increasing attack power / hit count. Example: 1 min, 2 min... cooldown. Expected Outcomes: Since 4th job only provides 243 SP, these three skills would consume 180 SP, with 30 SP for AOE skills, leaving only 33 SP for other skills like Holy Wand (HW) / Reflection / Maple Warrior (MW). Players would need to max out all three attack skills to Lv. 60 to achieve optimal bossing DPS. Other Discussions: Reflection could have a long HSH-style cooldown, but at Lv. 50, it grants 100% reflection for a limited time, such as 2 min cooldown with 20 sec 100% reflection.
This game 100% needs more than 1 mage dps class. It makes absolutely no sense for them to be farming classes.
