Why wasn't Vlada banned for scamming leech? She was reported 3 different times and it was confirmed by three different people that they were scammed. http://royals.ms/forum/threads/leech-disputes.26266/ http://royals.ms/forum/threads/viada-is-leech-scammer.26022/ http://royals.ms/forum/threads/vlada-is-a-scamer.26004/ Vlada didn't even show up "herself" to prove or disprove the people reporting her, however, the GM's said they couldn't do anything about it however, in this case: http://royals.ms/forum/threads/nukka-leech-scamming.18635/#post-106908 Stu got reported once here and he was banned for 3 days after a decision by Sila, how come Vlada wasn't given the same punishment that Stu had? *Edit This irks me a lot just b/c I had to work hard to make the mesos I gotten (50-60m/hr for leech) while he/she just scams the buyer and walks away scot-free
I don't know the reasoning behind the other ban you mentioned. But in my opinion when you buy or sell leech you are doing a trade on promise. So it's up to you if you want to trust the person to do something for you in the game, and trades like this simply shouldn't have to be policed by GM's. I could be biased though since I hate it when people buy and sell power levelling services with mesos, and in my entirety of playing MapleStory I haven't done so myself as I prefer to enjoy the game the way it was meant to be played.
Nukka had done the same thing (leech scam) and yet got banned for 3 days but Vlada who also scammed people got away scot-free. I was wondering why Nukka got banned while Vlada did not.
Seems like Nukka got banned for rude behaviour, not sure tho since I didnt read it all. Why dont you just ask Sila about the ban instead? Since youre replying to Matt & he said that he didnt know the reason for the ban.
Well as i originally gave my leech for free, the prices on int equip/scrolls forced me to rethink that. (not to forget that ill suck at gaching lol) (Well if Leeching would be forbidden in the first place prices on int equips wouldn't be that high anyways (ok HP washing does its thing on INT prices too)) Its just that selling leech is the like the main income a Mage(Arch Mage) has as a normal Mage is unlikely to be seen on Boss runs ...
I wasn't involved in either case but you need to remember things like this are similar to asking a police officer why one person got pulled over for speeding and not someone else. One police officer may have decided to pull them over while another would have let them just keep on going. Every staff member is different and while the laws (rules) are the same, the discretion of each staff member will not be the same and will result in different punishments (if any) to be given.
He got banned for leech scamming, it's in the title of the post.. it was labelled as Engaging in rude, unlawful, harassing, vulgar, obscene, hateful, threatening, abusive or otherwise objectionable behavior, including, without limitation, looting, kill stealing, making sexual comments
You can interpret the rules very differently, wouldn't this cause a lot of work for the staff? it's much easier not buying leech or buying from people you are familiar with.
Yeah as I said, I wasnt sure if I read it correctly. However you should still do the other thing that I said since there can be other factors that made Nukka banned. Just an assumption tho, dont quote me.
I don't think using the report on Nukka is the best example here. I still question that report and the reasons to why he got banned until this very day as the only screenshot Nukka was part of was cropped / edited. The rest of the report was 2 people just talking to each other about a so called scam.
My personal opinion is that things like this is a matter of trust. I don't feel that it is the GM's duty to police incidents like this. However, I do feel that there should be some form of punishment (Proof provided though) to offenders, such as this, such as a 1-3 day ban, or longer depending on what the situation is. Only when sufficient proof is provided though. I feel that this should be a ban-able offence as it clearly states in the TL; DR version of the Game Terms & Condition "Don't scam other players"
My opinion: (my opinion does not reflect the opinion of everyone else on staff) For me it's like buying groceries in a grocery store vs buying crack on a street corner. When you buy groceries in a store you know what the price is, you go to the register to pay, you get a receipt. There's no room for issue. You know what you're buying and how much you're spending. This is similar to buying items in maplestory through people's stores or a trade window. You can see the item you're buying and the price. When you buy crack on a street corner any number of things can happen. You can get robbed, you can get stabbed, you can get fake product, you can get shorted. There is no legitimate system in place to ensure you're getting your money's worth. Your mileage my vary, if you will. That's kinda like buying leech in maplestory. There's no system in place to ensure quality. When you spend 50 mil on an etc item in someone's store that's what you're spending the money on, technically speaking. You then have to trust that the other person will do what's promised. TLDR: Buyer beware.
Best analogy yet. To the scammers : keep scamming, maybe people will start grinding. Thank you for your service. I will never grind
