Please read the follow-up post instead: https://royals.ms/forum/threads/re-suggestion-lower-the-price-of-owls.244587/ I've been wanting owls to be free (sold for 1 meso via fm npc and infinitely useable without disappearing) for a long time, here are some pros and cons i can think of, please reply below with your thoughts on this suggestion. pros: 1) no more sweaty fm spot selling for crazy prices 2) your fm spot won't matter as much server restart likely won't affect people as much since everyone owls for items anyway 3) low demand items are way likelier to sell and find 4) less people selling items for dirt cheap because they don't know the prices or because owling for price costs more than the item they're trying to sell 5) more people getting to free market gaming especially newbies having an easier navigating it 6) lesser need to use external sources like price guides to price check (and also we will finally free claude god bless u (I'm not religious but dayum)) cons? 7) no more fm window shopping for fun 8) finding your friend's shop and leaving a silly message is a little less exciting and fun 9) you are less likely to stumble upon a super cheap item since everyone can price check for free (this is basically a pro and goid for the health of the market too)
Free owls lead to others spamming owls / scripting a fm bot which can snipe off any good price in seconds, also it makes market manipulation/speculative become easier. Any other restrictions for the owl will just lead to people stockpiling owls with their mules.
