1. First, read this: https://royals.ms/forum/threads/un-...ry-scottys-version.229606/page-6#post-1530878 2. It's nearly impossible to build this project without all the information from the forum, as well as support and feedback from the community. This web is planned to end when the new official library is released. However, I am considering ending it sooner if it no longer serves a meaningful purpose for the community. It's built by community, and for community. 3. Trust the Royals staff; they did their duty well to protect the community. It's understandable. edited: reupload the photo as chatgpt messed it up.
Voted no because I still use this library every time I play, and who knows when the official library will be released. It has been a work in progress since I started months ago. Thanks for your contribution even though you got banned
No, its extremely useful I dont think theres any chance the official library will be remotely as good as this, and i also dont think its coming anytime soon
I voted No because there is no such tool (yet) that makes my life easier when completing GPQ and guiding new people through it. Till now, no ads, no cookies or any malicious activity from the web I could see yet, and it is open-source too. But the staff are right when they choose not to endorse it, cuz you got banned for tampering/hacking within the game. It's your fault, to be honest. But for me, leave it at that as you give a big head-up on the website that directly links to the staff announcement. At least until the official library is released, then you might cut out the tool, like GPQ solver or something, and make a separate web for it (which I desperately need when I don't want to think much in GPQ). Thanks for your contribution and I'm glad to know you when playing the game, Scotty!
As long as the source code is available to peruse for anything malicious (Cookie-Grabbing, Crypto-mining, etc.) I think it can be audited and be unofficially relied on. I know that's too heavy on staff's plate right now for them to provide that service, and they're not deleting anything like your forum post, etc show's a nice thin line that I've always appreciated about staff here. I think you've nailed the UI on this application, and the fact that people still rely upon shows it's value. I'm more curious what do you get out of hosting it? If I were ever banned I wouldn't keep hosting a service for the game, I'd take all my toys and go home as it were. I more can't understand your motive, but I appreciate it.
Hey Scotty, Just want to start by saying that this message is purely from me as a player (and not as a Royals Staff) When I first came across your wiki, I was genuinely excited. It had so many useful features that I knew players, especially newbies, would find super helpful. I admired how you kept improving the library, always making it better and more comprehensive. I was an active user of your wiki back then and would often share and promote it to other players. I wanted as many people as possible to benefit from it because it was a solid resource. However, because of my role as a Staff, I became aware that you were banned in-game but didn’t submit a Ban Appeal. This put me in a tough spot. As much as I liked your wiki, it became difficult for me and the rest of the Staff to just act like nothing happened. That’s why we eventually had to release the statement in October 2024 to disassociate from the wiki. Honestly, I still think a lot of players will continue using your wiki because it’s genuinely helpful. But at the same time, I also believe players have the right to know your in-game status, so they can make their own decision on whether to trust you. Hope you understand where I’m coming from. Dave
As a Forum Mod, I did consider whether deleting Scotty’s forum posts would be necessary. But ultimately, this situation isn’t about a direct rule violation - it’s more about trust. While Scotty is banned in-game, his presence on the forums has mostly been focused on gathering feedback and support to improve his library. Given this unique situation, I’ve chosen to trust that his intentions here are just to maintain and enhance his wiki, not to do anything harmful, like taking revenge on players or Staff. Hope this clarifies.
It's been a week. As of 21/5/2025: We’ve got 50 “NO” votes and 8 “YES” votes. So for now, it looks like the library will likely stay open for at least the next few months. However, I’ll keep the poll open and check back in a few months to see if the community still feels it’s needed. And yes — if the community decides it’s time to shut it down, I will. Given my current situation, and to stay as neutral as possible without influencing anyone’s decision, I won’t be reacting to or replying to any posts in this thread. But please know that I do read and genuinely appreciate all the feedback.
