As someone who bought thousands of apr over the years, i ALWAYS by them 9 by 9. If i had the seller (or buyer, i sold a few times too) asked to do droptrades, id just use someone else. At this point they lost my trust and i dont deal with people i dont trust. Theres always more people to sell to or buy from.
Yeah different strokes, different people. Drop trade is something people commonly use for APR though. Again sorry it happened
It may be a common practice but drop trading anything is extremely reckless. Scammers pray on people who are rushed or in a hurry and apr trades are always gonna have its victims because of that. It kind of makes no sense to me how we as a community came up with many different ways of protecting ourselves from problems we've all had in the past when selling/buying any service or items with countless screenshots and questions about people's play history and all that but drop trading is still a thing at the same time lol
I've done drop trade for aprs twice. Both times the seller said to pay them after they finished dropping. The risk was on them and I STILL stressed about getting scammed lol
this same piece of shit scammed a friend of mine for like 3b worth of APR, but i'll leave it to them to make a report with evidence guy needs to just be banned
Having literally bought over 1000 APRs I've drop traded before, and have had good experiences, but usually you can find some sort of compromise to account for risk. For example 100 APR/pay/100 APR/Pay/100 APR/Pay (Or pay/APR) You look for names you recognize. You try to just buy 9, then go actually if you've got enough I'm willing to buy X amount, how does that sound? I have traded with people who record the whole thing, I screenshot usually and that's enough. Usually fame can give you a hint, the 3 fame char is not usually worth it. There is always just a little bit of a risk. You're trading your time for risk. If drop trade saves you 20 minutes. and there's a chance to lose 2 billion mesos 1% of the time. Then that 20 minutes is worth 20 million mesos. Which is plausible from farming so time is money in that case. Not victim blaming by any means it sucks, and there needs to be consequences.
Yeah. The person who wants the drop trade should be the one taking the risk. So if you're buying apr and want the convience, then pay up front. If someone asks you to trade apr first, then just tell them batches of 9 only unless they pay first. No risk this way. Though if the player is reputable, it doesn't matter too much. I think some of us get used to the community being small and everyone knowing each other, to where we take risks like this without thinking we'll get scammed. But always be careful! Especially with unknown usernames.
I always ask the seller to search forum about me, show up on 2 or 3 of lvl 200 chars and pay ws/cs after every 45/46/47 APRs. The scammer should be banned, and sellers should do background check before dropping large amount of goods.
Not to be the killjoy here but pet me summarize this here: Fakemage was reported on blacklist Everyone agrees that fakemage should be banned but its up to the victims to make proper reports People are disagreeing over whether drop trading is or isnt worth it. Can we move this to another discussion, since nothing productive will come at this point?
FakeMage's Ban Appeal https://royals.ms/forum/threads/think-i-got-ban-help.246083/ Reminder: Capture Evidence When Trading We’d like to remind everyone to always capture relevant evidence, such as videos or screenshots, when trading with others, especially for services like buying leech or APR drop-trading. GMs require solid proof before they can take any action in scam-related reports. Many scam reports have unfortunately been dismissed due to lack of sufficient evidence, often because the original agreement was not recorded. To protect yourself and help staff take appropriate action, please make sure you follow the evidence requirements below. A Reminder of the Requirements for reporting [Scamming]: Record the entire interaction to protect yourself and properly report the scammer in question. Include evidence of agreement (agreed price of item/service, items included in trade, ~servertime, party window, your exp bar (if buying leech) etc.) In the case of expeditions or boss runs, please ensure that the agreement on who is entitled to what is settled prior to entering the expedition, and that this is clearly visible in the evidence. Include evidence that agreement wasn't met (include ~servertime command to show time duration, screenshots of person offline or gone, your exp bar, party window) Include evidence that the other part doesn't intend on rectifying the issue (chat screenshots, etc). Please understand that Staff does not refund/return/pay back any transactions. Reference: https://royals.ms/forum/threads/capturing-evidence-for-reports.177814/
