Notice New Source Status Update 2

Hello Royallers!
Today we're celebrating our two year anniversary of MapleRoyals and what better way to do so than by letting you in on some new features and fixes for the new source!

Last year we had an event to celebrate our anniversary, however, with the stability issues of the current server and because the Developers and Admins spend most of their time working on the new source, we decided to postpone our anniversary event and combine it with a 'new source opening' event to be released on the launch of the new source. Don't worry, we have plenty of amazing content planned for the event and the new source alike!



Multiple Guild Alliances are fully functional along with the Guild Alliance Tab. Now you can keep an eye on your friends in the Alliances and you don't have to be picky with the single guild you allianced your own Guild with because your alliance can support up to five Guilds!

New Donator items have been added to the Donator Tab in the Cash shop for those of you who like to dress just that little bit more unique than the others. We won't release a full list of the items, but here's a sneak peek of some new additions:

Various new content has been added for all sorts of level ranges. One particular piece of content has been highly anticipated and will bring many parties of varied jobs together to tackle it. Let's see if you can guess what we're talking about here.

Inventory changes make it possible for you to choose your layout. Are you tired of scrolling through your stuff? set it to 'Expand' and see everything on that tab at once!

A new voting and RP charging system has been written which will enable you to vote and charge RP while your character is logged into the game (outside of the Cash Shop). Now you won't have to stop playing to make Cash Shop gains.

Skills & Skill quests have been updated and all of them work as intended. You will no longer have to suffer with buggy skills on a Brawler or post on the forums to request your skills because the quest is broken. Some handpicked skills of less popular 4th job classes have also received a v86 buff. You will have to wait and see which ones we changed though.



Question: Are you working on making it Mac OS X compatable?
Answer: Yes.

Question: Will Carnival PQ work again / will CPQ be re-enabled?
Answer: Yes.

Question: Will I still DC when changing channel sometimes?
Answer: No, the way you switch between channels has been rewritten to avoid this problem.

Question: Will Maple Island still be the same?
Answer: Yes. We are aware that there's an Islander community and we have been updating the game with them in mind. The Island maps will remain as they are.

Question: Will other maps get their v83 changes?
Answer: No, we've been reverting maps on Victoria Island to their v62 state to maintain the nostalgia we all love.

Question: Do we get the Bigfoot without 'invincible' frames?
Answer: No, we imported the current Bigfoot that still has frames that you can't hit because we feel it would be too easy/quick to kill Bigfoot and would ruin the nostalgia otherwise.

Question: Will there be Monster Book?
Answer: Not on release, but we might look into it after the core features are live and running.

Question: Are there any new Meso / NX sinks planned?
Answer: Yes, and like most answers here we will leave you guessing as to what they might be.


Now that we're two years in, there are many more things to come. As was mentioned in the first update post, we won't be answering any questions regarding the new source, and we still have no accurate release date yet. We've made some good progress since the last status update. In fact, over the next couple of days invitations will be sent out to those handpicked to participate in our Closed Beta process in preparation for the next stage of source development.

Thank you all for playing the game so far. As we continue to improve the nostalgic experience we would like to ask you to be a bit more patient for this overhaul so we can continue to play for many more years to come without DCing multiple times per day.
