Hi, I appreciate accommodating the larger player base and increasing the amount of cakes per channel. However, currently 45 mins after cake spawned theres still about 10 channels with cakes at 100% and its difficult to find an ongoing cake with people in it. It became a slog like later channels at snowman. It may also bomb the 100% scroll market, which makes cake even less enjoyable to do. Perhaps 2 cakes per channel is a good middle ground, so its still a relatively quick and rewarding experience, but also everybody gets to enjoy it on a few characters. Thanks.
Maybe even less, maybe only odd channels get 2 Cakes or something. The problem with being able to do 2 cakes in a row is it also causes players not to know where to go to do cake bosses? People went from 7 to 6 back to 7 at one point. Other idea is don't make cakes 'sequential' Once they're full the cake maps should just welcome the next 50 people and the next. Maybe we could do 1-10 only or something as doubles and 11-20 as singles?
Personally I thought having 1 per channel was fine. Yes they filled up very quick but that was a good thing imo. I think it's better that you could only get 2~3 characters in max. It leveled the playing field with newer players who don't have a million mules. It was nice that it was over quick and then could move on to other event stuff. If you missed it entirely, it's not really the end of the world because it's every 4h so you could probably just catch the next one. After this update, now there's more added FOMO to run through this with all your mules and spend an hour in there, during an already jam-packed event. And at the same time it is going to tank the price of all the rewards which means the additional time you're spending could be even less valuable. So it feels like this may just be worse for everyone
Also, its very buggy when entering cake. Some people are able to enter the 2nd / 3rd map of cake but others who clicked at the same time, they get the NPC returns as though its a full map
Agreed on lowering to two per channel or reverting back to the old format. I agree that missing cake by being late by just 5ish minute (Or however long it is before 2nd mules fill up the channels) is a feelsbad but suddenly tripling it was a bit excessive to be honest. I personally don't think there's that many individual players seeking cake to warrant tripling it but I don't have the data to back this up. Currently, for the time you would need to do one APQ, you can just do cake on 8-12 mules and most likely get much higher average returns (Also no data to back up the rates, just a general feeling from my own cakes). If scroll prices tank, newer players don't get to benefit as much from getting lucky in the event. If scroll prices don't tank, everyone can just hyper-mule this event to hell, which imo isn't exactly healthy (Though, I'm also guilty of doing as many cakes as the number of eligible mules I have). IMO cake shouldn't turn into a chore or turn into some meso-making method that you get FOMO from (Like anglerfish1 said) for not optimizing the hell out of it. It should be a once every few hour cherry on top that players can participate in to get a little something. Yes, you can just NOT do cake on as many mules as you can, but you are highly incentivized to do so due to event scrolls (Especially for players without better meso-making methods). When or if event scrolls drop in value so much that they no longer serve as a decent incentive, then players in general will just not want to do cake.
agree, 2 per channel should be the sweet line <3 accomodating people who work hard for mules & also the market prices
I think 1 room per ch was good, for reasons mentioned above. Also, if we are gonna continue with this many rooms, why not just remove the 1 time per character cap? Atleast people wouldn't need 10 mules
I think people gonna do it with multiple characters regardless just because of the event challenge. And I agree with this totally, valuing player's time over amount of mules should always be priority. Spoiler
One room per channel was hell for outfit/chair completionists who relied on cake for coins. Don't tell me to open hundreds of galore bags per character. In y9/y10, doing 3-6 cakes each round was expected. That's why the extreme crowding of cake in y11 and y12 is so jarring to some of us.
