Hi, so this is a continuation of this thread: https://royals.ms/forum/threads/update-95-1-ruined-bossing-and-mobbing.244831/ In the previous thread I explained how VL was super bugged in update 95.1, making it: - Summon less mobs - Eat golems slower - Jail less - Get stuck knocked back in ouch face All of the above was out of sync too so less dealing with timers aligning, making the boss significantly easier and weird feeling. In this update these issues were supposed to be solved according to the patch notes, along with the teleport outside of the map and pushing mobs out. While the tp out and pushing mobs out issues are solved, here are the current issues: - VL still summons mobs, tps, consumes golems etc. with a delay, so all the problems mentioned above are still there. - You can now Rush/Snatch/Corkscrew VL, so you can do the whole run with VL pinned to the corner, which we did. - It gets stuck a lot more in the "ouch" face, it's knocked back the entire run and rarely uses any attacks. So on top of the old problems that still exist, now tps are also a non factor. Just watch this lol:
Thanks for continuing to provide information. Looks like the aggro-grabbing mechanics added to the rush type skills are likely contributing to all the listed issues, and amplified by the forced kb that Barrage does. We will work on some adjustments specifically for VL for the next maintenance.
Any chance he can be made entirely un-KBable, even by barrage? The fixed knockback animation might help with double animations but now he spends so much time stuck in it doing nothing.
Tested VL after patch #95.3 and it's indeed fixed. However instead of pushing left and right he can now move vertically. (has gone for good, we waited for 10+ minutes until deciding the run was cleared )
Seems like it might be unrelated to throne/TP? We had him teleport successfully, but then shortly after he disappeared when he was on flat ground and teleport on cooldown. It still could be related to teleport as a bug that happens shortly after the TP, but my guess is it's related to barrage. If anyone has pre-reset runs try a barrage-less run?
That is very sad to hear. We have been experimenting further since hearing about this, and were able to replicate the issue on our test server after a while. The issue needs at least two characters and seems to occur somewhat randomly from any type of kb skill, and also requires that attack to also take aggro from another player. However, some good news is we do already have another potential solution, but this unfortunately require new files once again. We are working to try and get this to you as quickly as possible, and plan to offer this as an optional update 95.3.1. We should have the setups ready sometime tomorrow morning/early afternoon, and there will not be a maintenance. Since a large portion of the playerbase does not take part in Von Leon, we want to make this optional, but this will require VL parties to ensure players have the latest version to not cause regression of this bug. To help with this, we will make sure the client window title show as Jun 9 instead of Jun 8. We really appreciate your patience as we continue to iron out these few remaining Von Leon issues.
Setups will be available in about an hour from now. If there are any groups that have run since the Sunday night reset they should open a Character issues thread and we will see what we can do.
So by optional, you mean that I can download if I do VL and it should be fixed, and if not then.. it stays the same? A bit confused. Also, highly appreciative, thank you so much for your continuous work!!
I have watched a couple of runs since and it seems that this has fixed the issue. I did notice there was an occasional glitchy 'flickering' frame that can occur for a split second, which seems to be the hit1/ouch frame which during our changes was made to no longer have a sprite. Seems like the client still tries to render this sprite occasionally, so we will use the regular standing (not ouch) frame for it instead in a future update. We are interested to know whether or not the "double animation" issues are occurring with this latest update, or if that also seems to be fixed. It's optional because we didn't want to force all players to redownload a setup since not everyone does VL. If you do VL, you should get this latest setup. If you don't get the setup and join a VL run you could cause the mob to disappear mid-run.
well, i do VL weekly, so i downloaded it. i hope it will fix the current problem(s)! thank you for all of your hard work, and i will share my experience in a couple hours (as my run is set for 2 am ST).
adding on that, after running my VL run today, i'll send the same message i've sent my friends in discord: 1) VL dispells more often 2) VL tweaks sometimes, and will have some periods of time where he doesn't do anything 3) VL Double-animation less often, but still happened like twice~ during a whole run (dispell + lazers) & (Lightning + TP) 4) VL Cannot be pinned anymore so that's fixed, also some animations delayed (as teleports, mob spawns, and even jail tbh) Conclusion: VL is playable again. Bugs fixed: 1) VL being able to get knocked back. 2) VL suddenly going into the floor / going invisible / going into the walls. 3) VL often uses double-animations and will cancel each animation out. it still exists, but less often.
VL seems fixed now based on a few runs I've been in or watched streams of. However, I've also seen at least 3 runs fail now because someone didn't have the latest files (even despite organizers giving lots of reminders) Now that we've confirmed the fix is good, can we please make this a mandatory upgrade?
