I've always wanted some Maplestory merch, but I could never find the kinds of things I wanted in America, or there would be a steep import fee. I got fed up and thought "fine, I'll do it myself." Now that I have done it, I'm selling some of the designs I've made. https://www.etsy.com/shop/PharstisPrintables These are plastic models of some of the creatures from the game. There aren't any special features (at least for now...), and they're pretty lightweight. They are printed on a multicolor 3D printer, so you don't have to worry about colors or decals rubbing off. The mouth, eyes, etc. are printed into the body. So far I've designed Orange Mushroom, Blue Mushroom, Slime, Bubbling, and Pink Bean. That's right, you could have Pink Bean in real life before we get Pink Bean in-game. Here's our entire stock as of this post. Don't worry if we run out. We will make more, but this first run is to gauge interest. If you guys really like what we're doing, then I'll make more models with the intent of selling them. It will also help us decide if we want to get another printer. Right now, we only have a single multicolor 3D printer (Bambu X1 Carbon), and the next one we're looking at is around 4000 USD (Prusa XL with five heads). My brother is handling the store and shipping, not me. If you have questions about an order, ask on Etsy. There's more to come, so stay tuned and stay . I'll update this thread whenever a new design is available for sale.
Pricing update: we messed up, prices are lower now We calculated the prices based on what the slicer (the program used to operate a 3D printer) determined it used for each model. Bambu Studio will tell you the price before you print something. What we didn't notice is that we accidentally applied the cost of printing a single model to models printed in bulk... printing in bulk generates less waste filament compared to printing one at a time, but we hadn't needed to print in bulk until recently. We have recalculated prices to something more sane and affordable. Pink Bean and Orange Mushroom are 15 USD, Bubbling, Slime, and Blue Mushroom are 12 USD. I'm probably going to do Bloctopus next since he's mostly a single color cube. Fewer color changes means less waste which means lower prices.
I'm glad people like them so far. Here's a new design that's almost ready: Bloctopus with removable mini-bloctopus (not sure if mini's arms will be final). Someone in-game mentioned wanting keychains, and there is already a bloctopus keychain item in game, so maybe one day... We did a little research into shipping costs because it seems like everyone we've showed these models to is outside of the US, and all of them said these are too expensive. Shipping within the US from where we are is about 4.70 USD, while every other country we checked was something like 17+ USD. Canada, Mexico, Singapore, Jordan... sorry, but we can't do anything about that. You know who's to blame. If there's something that would make you consider buying anything despite the blisteringly-high international shipping costs, please tell me. One person wants a slime lamp. I already put an LED module in a slime and it glows (click image to expand). Just know that anything that requires electronics will increase the price. We already have ideas for stuff like watering cans and coin banks which would be about the same price as everything on the store now. Bonus: we successfully made a test of a Pink Bean made from waste filament. The filament chunks go into a silicone mold which is heated from above and below. It takes a long time, but the end result is a 300 gram bean paperweight. This one didn't completely melt because the mold wasn't preheated, but now we know what to do. If you really want a funky paperweight, tell us.
Bloctopus is just about ready. The listing should be up soon. They are stackable before we glue the legs in. We are also starting to make actual, real-life Omok sets. I've only made the Bloctopus piece so far since we want to see how well it fits with the board, but I plan to make all the pieces. I'm not sure how many should go into a set... Two sets of 30? Two sets of 50? [' O ']
Actual, real life Omok. We're thinking of selling the full board assembled (aka glued together), plus two sets of 30 omok pieces of your choice (total 60 pieces) for 25 USD and whatever the shipping ends up being. I don't know if 30 pieces per player is enough, so please let me know here if you think more need to be included. We'll also create some separate versions of Omok pieces with magnets on the back so you can stick them wherever, but I have to model the rest of them first.
as far as i know the original omok board is 15 by 15 slots which would be 225 total, two types of pieces so 112 or 113 pieces each. Many games don't make it to a full board of course, but perhaps 30 pieces and a smaller playing field/table isnt enough
Small update since people seem to like the omoks more, and they're pretty easy to model. We can print almost 100 per plate, but it takes about a day or two, depending on the piece. I'm making a bunch of original designs based on bosses and other enemies too. Along with the original eight plus Pink Bean and Zakum which are already done, I'm going to make yeti, pepe, Papalatus, probably Pianus (front-facing Pianus isn't real, he can't hurt you), and I don't know what else yet. Why? It turns out that they make good bases for magnets. Plus these are very cheap to ship since we can put them in a bubble mailer.
Playable omok sets are coming soon. We're thinking about 25 USD and shipping will end up around 5 to 7 USD (at least for those in the US... no idea on international just yet). You'll get a foldable board and 120 pieces. It's a 12x12 board so you can almost completely fill it up. It takes about a day to print two boards or a single plate of omoks (95 pieces) so we're going to stock up before opening the listing. We'll also be selling bags of 60 omoks for about 5 USD each and individual omok magnets for about a dollar each. Omoks can go into bubble envelopes without getting damaged, so shipping is very cheap.
While we're printing tons of boards (we'll probably be done by the end of June), you can buy omok magnets RIGHT NOW: https://www.etsy.com/listing/4318077342/omok-magnets They are 1.50 USD each and shipping is about four dollars within the USA and eighteen to Singapore as an example (cuz... you know).
