Disclaimer: I didn't buy and hoard duct tapes; I don't have goby leech characters; I didn't sell last hit leech. 1. Duct tape: adding duct tape to vergamot was suggested in Feb. 2025, and implemented in Jun. 2025. Earlier this year, duct tape's price went up a lot because WS price was 550~560m. 2. Goby leech (30-51): if a character's level is 30 lower than the mob/boss's level, the character will not get EXP regardless, implemented in Jan. 2025. These changes were made overnight and didn't notify the players prior to that. A player could have hoarded a lot of duct tapes and lose a lot of meso because it's added to vergamot. Merchants are an important role in the economy. A player could still be gearing low level goby leechers the night before the Update #94 only to be told that his/her efforts are all wasted. I would suggest Royals make announcements before actually implementing features/contents. For example, make announcements when the staff makes the decision and before the coding. Let the market and the players adapt to the changes more smoothly instead of being cracked down overnight...
I would have to disagree with you. Unless these changes are vital to a player's progression, such as: Eliminating an item entirely from the game, then I don't think they really need to inform players so thoroughly. The reason being, these don't sound like major changes, but rather things of material value losing their value, and I suppose a minor (what some may suggest) exploit being fixed. Both of these things weigh very little, seeing as market changes happen inevitably, and leeching is not necessarily a currency, but a privilege. I understand there are large investments made, but like in life, you cannot prepare for everything that may come your way. If anything, disrupting both markets gives people new things to do, new ways to play, and quite possibly, better ways to earn and better ways to leech. I would put this under growing pains, seeing as the server after 10+ years is still evolving and gently molding it's shape into something more pleasant and less exploitive. If we were just advised of these changes, you wouldn't be excited for the coming patch, but made aware, and feel calm about the future. Spontaneous changes are the spice of life, and something we should all expect and conform to. After all, any day now, we will see the Evan class suddenly appear, and I'm sure plenty of people will be ripping their hair out over it. Will this happen soon? or at all? who knows, which is what makes it exciting.
Appreciate the feedback and the points raised. We do understand the importance of market stability and how sudden changes can affect item prices and player investments - especially for those who actively participate in merching or long-term planning. That said, announcing certain changes ahead of time isn’t really feasible in most cases. When updates involve game-impacting changes (like adding items to boss drops or altering mechanics) they can easily lead to market manipulation or hoarding. For example, if players know in advance that a certain item will be added to a boss drop, say, a new item being introduced to Zakum, then items like the Eye of Fire (used to summon Zakum) could quickly spike in price or get heavily stockpiled by others looking to profit off the upcoming change. This tends to hurt the broader player base more than it helps. There’s also the fact that not all planned features are final. Some things may get scrapped or reworked if they don’t turn out as intended during development or testing. Early announcements could mislead players into making large investments - like hoarding 30% weapon scrolls based on a class rework that ends up delayed or changed significantly. Another common issue is with time zones. If a change is announced publicly before implementation, players in certain regions could get a head start, heading into the Free Market to buy up related items before others even see the news. That kind of uneven playing field is something we’d rather avoid. Because of all the above, we’re unlikely to pre-announce updates that have a major impact on the in-game economy (market price). We hope this helps address your concerns on the matter.
