I thought I'd share my journey leeching a Thief to lvl 135.

For those familiar with HP/MP washing:

Used fresh AP to HP wash whenever possible until lvl 69 (constantly calculate minimum MP at every level, add fresh AP to HP, use AP Reset to -12 MP, +1 INT, wait until 330 base INT to start MP washing, HP equips + mw19 for all lvls practical from the start).
Note: 2 fresh AP available for MP washing at lvl 69 after reaching 330 base INT (add fresh AP to MP, use AP Reset to -12 MP, +1 LUK)

From lvl 69-134, MP wash every lvl with all fresh AP (add fresh AP to MP, use AP Reset to -12 MP, +1 LUK or +1 DEX), stay at 330 base INT.

At lvl 135, use all fresh AP to HP wash (add fresh AP to HP, use AP Reset to -12 MP, +1 LUK), then use 326 AP Resets to get back to 4 base INT.

From lvl 135-200, use all fresh AP to HP wash (add fresh AP to HP, use AP Reset to -12 MP, +1 LUK).

Use AP Resets to -12 MP, +18 HP(avg) as practical.

    Please find attached image.

The idea is to get the most from of every AP Reset.

At lvl 135, 30k HP is possible if equips or the "Water from the spring of youth" quest is included.
1199 AP Resets usable before back to minimum MP:
    Minimum MP = current lvl (135) x 14 + 148 = 2038 MP
    Current MP 16427 - minimum MP 2038 = 14389 MP
    14389 MP / 12 MP = 1199 AP Resets
    1199 x 18 (18 avg HP from using AP Reset to -12MP,+HP) = 21582 HP
    Current HP = 8174
    21582 HP + 8174 HP = 29756 HP
29756 HP + 500 HP from "Water from the spring of youth quest" > 30k HP

In no hurry to reach 30k HP, actually.
From lvl 135 onward, my plan is to use fresh AP to HP wash (add fresh AP to HP, use AP Reset to -12 MP, +1 LUK).
Not sure when to use AP Resets to -12 MP, +18 HP(avg).
325 fresh AP left until lvl 200:
    lvl 200 - lvl 135 = 65 lvls
    65 lvls x 5 fresh AP = 325 fresh AP
    1199 - 325 = 874 AP Resets
    874 x 18 (18 avg HP from using AP Reset to -12MP,+HP) = 15732 HP
325 x 22 (22 avg HP gain from adding fresh AP to HP) = 7150 HP

    Altogether, 15732 HP + 7150 HP + 8174 HP = 31056 HP.

HP gain from adding fresh AP to HP varies from 20 to 24:
    "else if job.isA(MapleJob.THIEF)
    {maxhp += rand(20, 24);}"

HP gain from using AP Reset to -12MP,+HP varies from 16 to 20:
    "else if (c.getPlayer().getJob().isA(MapleJob.THIEF))
    {maxhp += rand(16, 20);}"

    _____________

    So, what is fresh AP?
Every time you lvl up, you get 5 fresh ability points (AP).

    330 base INT?
To HP/MP wash a Thief, 25 DEX is required at lvl 10 to make the job advancement. The rest of your AP can go toward 330 base INT.
    At lvl 69: 4 STR, 25 DEX, 330 INT, 6 LUK
When you lvl up, more INT = more MP gained, so HP equips + maple warrior buff help.
When you start MP washing (adding fresh AP to increase MP, and then using AP resets to -12 MP, +1 LUK), only your base INT matters. HP equips and mw do not help.

    Why not 331 base INT?
Whether you're gaining MP from lvling up or MP washing, your INT only matters in increments of 10.
496 INT results in the same MP gains as 490 INT when lvling up.
331 INT results in the same MP gains as 330 INT when MP washing.
Note: Eventually had 496 INT after HP equips and mw19 (330+133+mw19=496), mw19 effects base AP only

HP/MP washing from the above descriptions:

"Used fresh AP to HP wash whenever possible until lvl 69, calculate minimum MP at every lvl, wait until 330 base INT"
After lvling up, calculate minimum MP to see how many times you can HP wash out of 5 fresh AP.
MP added by equipment must not be included in minimum MP calculation.
Hint: A quick way to see your current MP without equipment is to double click an AP Reset (you don't have to use it).

    Formula: (current lvl) x 14 + 148 = minimum MP
    Example: (current lvl 22) x 14 + 148 = 456 minimum MP
    If current MP at lvl 22 = 468 MP, 468 MP - 456 MP = 12 MP extra.
This means you can use 1 AP Reset.
If you have 11 MP extra, you cannot use 1 AP Reset to -12 MP, +1 INT.
If you have 23 MP extra, you can only use 1 AP Reset.
    Process:
    (1) Use 1 fresh AP to increase HP
Use 1 AP Reset to -12 MP, +1 INT
    (2) Add 1 fresh AP to INT
    (3) Add 1 fresh AP to INT
    (4) Add 1 fresh AP to INT
    (5) Add 1 fresh AP to INT

Note: Lvl 22 may be the first opportunity to HP wash
Now your MP is back at or near minimum and base INT is on the way to 330.

Repeat minimum MP calculation for all lvls until lvl 69.
Example: If you have 24 MP extra, this means you can use 2 AP Resets.
If you have 35 MP extra, this means you can only use 2 AP Resets.
    Process:
    (1) Use 1 fresh AP to increase HP
Use 1 AP Reset to -12 MP, +1 INT
    (2) Use 1 fresh AP to increase HP
Use 1 AP Reset to -12 MP, +1 INT
    (3) Add 1 fresh AP to INT
    (4) Add 1 fresh AP to INT
    (5) Add 1 fresh AP to INT

By lvl 64, you may be gaining enough MP to HP wash 5 times every lvl up.
Don't worry if you've used 5 AP Resets and have more than 12 MP above your minimum MP. This is a good thing.
    Process:
    (1) Use 1 fresh AP to increase HP
Use 1 AP Reset to -12 MP, +1 INT
    (2) Use 1 fresh AP to increase HP
Use 1 AP Reset to -12 MP, +1 INT
    (3) Use 1 fresh AP to increase HP
Use 1 AP Reset to -12 MP, +1 INT
    (4) Use 1 fresh AP to increase HP
Use 1 AP Reset to -12 MP, +1 INT
    (5) Use 1 fresh AP to increase HP
Use 1 AP Reset to -12 MP, +1 INT

"From lvl 69-134, MP wash every lvl with all fresh AP, stay at 330 base INT"
    Process for lvl 69:
    (1) Use 1 fresh AP to increase HP
Use 1 AP Reset to -12 MP, +1 INT
    (2) Use 1 fresh AP to increase HP
Use 1 AP Reset to -12 MP, +1 INT
    (3) Use 1 fresh AP to increase HP
Use 1 AP Reset to -12 MP, +1 INT (330 base INT total)
    (4) Use 1 fresh AP to increase MP
Use 1 AP Reset to -12 MP, +1 LUK
    (5) Use 1 fresh AP to increase MP
Use 1 AP reset to -12 MP, +1 LUK

Now that you have 330 base INT, you will gain an average of 44 MP from each fresh AP.
    44 MP(avg) - 12 MP = 32 MP(avg) gained.
MP gain from fresh AP varies between 43 MP and 45 MP with 330 base INT.
Process for all fresh AP from lvl 70-134:
    (1) Use 1 fresh AP to increase MP
Use 1 AP Reset to -12 MP, +1 LUK
    (2) Use 1 fresh AP to increase MP
Use 1 AP Reset to -12 MP, +1 LUK
    (3) Use 1 fresh AP to increase MP
Use 1 AP Reset to -12 MP, +1 LUK
    (4) Use 1 fresh AP to increase MP
Use 1 AP Reset to -12 MP, +1 LUK
    (5) Use 1 fresh AP to increase MP
Use 1 AP Reset to -12 MP, +1 LUK

As seen in the image, my base DEX is 63. In order to wear some Thief equips at lvl 135, sometimes add DEX instead of LUK:
Use 1 fresh AP to increase MP
Use 1 AP Reset to -12 MP, +1 DEX

"At lvl 135, use all fresh AP to HP wash"
    Process:
    (1) Use 1 fresh AP to increase HP
Use 1 AP Reset to -12 MP, +1 LUK
    (2) Use 1 fresh AP to increase HP
Use 1 AP Reset to -12 MP, +1 LUK
    (3) Use 1 fresh AP to increase HP
Use 1 AP Reset to -12 MP, +1 LUK
    (4) Use 1 fresh AP to increase HP
Use 1 AP Reset to -12 MP, +1 LUK
    (5) Use 1 fresh AP to increase HP
Use 1 AP Reset to -12 MP, +1 LUK

"then use 326 AP Resets to get back to 4 base INT"
Using 326 AP Resets to get back to 4 base INT is straightforward.
Repeat the following process 326 times:
    (1) Use 1 AP Reset to -1 INT, +1 LUK

"From lvl 135-200, use all fresh AP to HP wash"
    Process:
    (1) Use 1 fresh AP to increase HP
Use 1 AP Reset to -12 MP, +1 LUK
    (2) Use 1 fresh AP to increase HP
Use 1 AP Reset to -12 MP, +1 LUK
    (3) Use 1 fresh AP to increase HP
Use 1 AP Reset to -12 MP, +1 LUK
    (4) Use 1 fresh AP to increase HP
Use 1 AP Reset to -12 MP, +1 LUK
    (5) Use 1 fresh AP to increase HP
Use 1 AP Reset to -12 MP, +1 LUK

"Use AP Resets to -12 MP, +18 HP(avg) as practical"
With 14389 MP above minimum MP at lvl 135, extra MP can be used to HP wash with after any lvl up.
Optional process for lvl 135, or any lvl thereafter:
    (1) Add 1 fresh AP to increase HP
Use 874 (or less) AP Resets to -12 MP, +18 HP(avg)
Use 1 AP Reset to -12 MP, +1 LUK
    (2) Add 1 fresh AP to increase HP
Use 1 AP Reset to -12 MP, +1 LUK
    (3) Add 1 fresh AP to increase HP
Use 1 AP Reset to -12 MP, +1 LUK
    (4) Add 1 fresh AP to increase HP
Use 1 AP Reset to -12 MP, +1 LUK
    (5) Add 1 fresh AP to increase HP
Use 1 AP Reset to -12 MP, +1 LUK

According to my calculations, waiting until lvl 69 to MP wash with 330 base INT may yield highest total MP while avoiding unnecessary gains.
AP Resets are never used to MP wash and increase INT (add fresh AP to MP, use AP Reset to -12 MP, +1 INT). All opportunities to add fresh AP to HP are met.

    How I started:
Lvl 1-8: Stayed on "Lower level of the Training Camp" for Tutorial Drumming Rabbits because of weak attack.
    AP totals:
    Lvl 1: 13 INT
    Lvl 2: 18 INT
    Lvl 3: 23 INT
    Lvl 4: 28 INT
    Lvl 5: 33 INT
    Lvl 6: 37 INT, 5 DEX
    Lvl 7: 10 DEX
    Lvl 8: 15 DEX

Lvl 8: Leave maple island, HP equip Wooden Wand

    Lvl 8-10: maple warrior 19
    AP totals:
    Lvl 9: 20 DEX
    Lvl 10: 25 DEX

Lvl 10: Job advancement to Thief, more HP equips

    Open to thoughts!

Did you forget to add the fact that you also gain some HP from leveling up alone? Hence you can leave out the excess MP you have(and save money on APR) instead of doing -MP +HP? Correct me if I'm wrong.

I will be using this guide to start my NL soon but first I am looking for some okay-ish int equipment. Do you think the extra INT helps out a lot?

You are correct, I did not include HP I will gain from leveling up alone from 136-200 in the "Altogether, 15732 HP + 7150 HP + 8174 HP = 31056 HP" calculation. I also did not include MP I will gain from lvling up from 136-200. I will have more than enough extra MP to reach 30k HP.

    Expensive HP equips are unnecessary.

Here are the HP equips I chose that are available in the Free Market, many of which I first bought for my LUKless Bishop to use as regular equips:
Lvl 8: +7 INT Wooden Wand
Lvl 10: +16 INT Green Bandana, +7 INT Yellow Work Gloves
Lvl 15: +5 INT Single Earring
Lvl 20: +20 INT Bathrobe for Men, +10 INT Maple Shield
Lvl 25: +10 INT Ragged Yellow Cape
    Lvl 30: +2 INT Spiegelmann's Necklace
Lvl 50: +5 INT Silver Deputy Star, +9 INT Yellow Snow Shoes, Zakum Helmet (scrolled for INT)
