Installation Guide (outdated, no longer relevant)

Hey i'm new here. I'm not really a tech guy and this is my first private server. Can i please get a step by step installation guide? Thank you

 

1. Download the Maplestory Setup and remember where you put that file.
2. Download the Windows Client and put it in the folder where you put the setup. Make sure your antivirus is turned off and malware protection is off on your browser when downloading it. Add the client on your antivirus exception list and turn it back on.
3. Once all the files are put into one place, click the MapleRoyals.exe to start the game.

 

Thanks for the reply but i did all you said and this pops up whenever i try to start up the game

 

Ugh... Windows 8. Windows 8 occasionally had a problem with running MapleRoyals. Try and tweak around with the firewall setting through Microsoft Security Settings and hopefully you'll manage to get it to work. If not, try and download all the wz. files from the download page and replace all the ones in the MapleRoyals folder.

 

I turned off my Firewall and now i get "Failed in finding proper screen mode for Gr2D"... now what?

 

From others having that problem, it's most likely your monitor/ tv screen causing it, you would need to change your resolution
and try some options,

 

it works i found this on another thread regarding this exact issue "i had the same problem and i'm not sure if you still have it right now but i went to the maple royals folder right clicked the Maple Royals Client went to 'Properties>Compatibility>Check the compatibility box and run it on windows 7'.
This is exactly what i did and i haven't had this error." I did this and now it works. Thanks for the help guys

 

I didn't know the compatibility also makes you get that error, thanks for posting!
