Pet bug causing extreme lag and freezing at Skeles?

In the last 2 days or so i've been able to get enough TMA to sell Skele leech (The Dragon Nest Left Behind) but MapleRoyals keeps lagging like crazy to the point it freezes. I've waited a few minutes before and it doesn't really come back to life, it might move a frame or two so I usually have to kill the app via task manager and start it up again.

Here i'm not even attacking, you can see there are barely any drops on the map and I still basically lag until I freeze but in this instance I DC.

I've noticed once I take off my pets this issue stops happening so there must be some sort of bug with pets on this map for me? Is there a solution for this that is actually practical? Not using my pets isn't really a suitable fix..




Laptop specs:
13th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-13420H (12 CPUs), ~2.1GHz
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4050 Laptop GPU (6GB RAM)

Other things I've tried and confirmed:

• All my Graphics and other drivers are up to date
• Re-installed the MR client
• Changed via Lenovo Vantage app to use dGPU mode (use dedicated graphics card)
• Changed graphic settings in windows for the MR app to use the Dedicated graphics card
• Lowered the picture quality in the client to lowest
• Closed all other apps (chrome, discord etc.)
• Checked system usage when frozen and CPU/Mem are below 40%~

I've now also rebuilt my laptop (wiped and re-installed Windows)
Downloaded both IMG and WZ clients

Both things have not changed anything.

Is anyone able to help? I've invested so much into my BS to sell skele leech just to not be able to actually sell it so it's frustrating.

This issue is driving me away from the game..

I'm going to try and remove everything and see how it goes - looking at the list now those drops pretty often at skeles..

 

I removed everything from my loot filter, and it already seems to be running better. I was able to run Skele by myself for 5-10 minutes without any lag, and I could switch and AFK on the rope in CH’s where people were selling leech—stuff I would've lagged out on before.

I had the same issue on both versions. I’d log into a Skele map with 1 pet, and if there was someone selling leech, I’d lag out immediately. As soon as I unequipped all my pets, the problem went away, and I could switch channels or stay in a leech map without any issues.

I’ve tried fullscreen, windowed with the native MR client, and even Magpie for a bigger resolution, but the problems were still happening across the board.

Fingers crossed it’s just the loot filter for me, but it’d be good to get to the bottom of it if it’s something else for others.

 

Tbh, I never really filter all too often - most I would of had would be 7-8.

 

Spoke too soon, was working flawlessly for 40 minutes of leech, went to NPC and issue came back - even after relogging. Had to unequip all pets.

 

Thanks for checking up Dave but unfortunately it seems to have gotten worse. I get the same issue at Henesys hunting ground 1 when I hunt for the ring of thought/strength quest items.

I'm completely stumped and feel like i've exhausted all options so I've barely been playing. Hopefully it can resolve itself at some point.

 

for me at least, if I would remove pet / remove pet ignore the lag disappear.
If the pets dont have pet loot but do have item ignore lag still happens.

 

Yeah as soon as I unequip pets everything runs smoothly again and it will stay that way as long as they aren't equipped again.

Just strange as I never had this issue before (selling MB2/FTP/ULU1/2 Leech) - only started happening when I was in a position to sell Skele Leech. I've also bought Skele leech previously on my Bishop and had no lag whatsoever.

Initially I thought it was the Nvidia GPU updates but playing around and even rolling them back and a clean build of windows made no difference.

 

Its a wide issue for a lot of players, its something wrong with the client / server. Not you

I currently only have 2 pets, but I've also tested with just 1, and the issue persists even when there are only a few drops on the map (as shown in the video I posted).

I've tried removing items from the item ignore equip list and even unequipping them, as Dave suggested, but it didn't seem to make any difference. I haven't tested magic scales yet, so I'll try isolating that by removing it from my pet equips and let you know the results.

 

It can't be Magic Scales for me at least as I don't even own that pet equip. Here is what I have equipped on both my pets

 

I've uploaded 2 new videos of me in Henesys Hunting Ground 1.

You can see with my pets equipped I lag out pretty quickly (It moved a couple of frames but for the most part it remained frozen for another minute or so before I DC'd) but I trimmed that part out so the video isn't as long.

I done the same test but removing my pets before hand and as you can see, there is no lag or freezing at all.
