common thing in pierre

I'd imagine Pierre is actually faster if everyone is actually trying & chasing than if everyone is chilling in the corner, but I don't think that's really the point or what people are upset about. The reality is many people don't want to put in the effort of chasing & would instead prefer to farm the event with minimal effort involved. After the first few channels have been cleared, the majority of the remaining lobbies are usually comprised of borderline afk folks doing it for the zillionth time on their mules, and I really can't imagine they'd ever put in enough effort to leave the corner.

Players have the right to play the event as it was intended, but this doesn't change the fact that them doing so can negatively impact other players. It is quite apparent when a previously fast wall-hugging run ends up taking noticeably longer after the introduction of a single uncooperative player. While it is annoying to have adamant wall-huggers in lobbies where the majority opt to chase, they are not actively slowing things down (barring the opportunity cost of them taking up a player slot that could've gone to another chaser). On the other hand, someone chasing in a lobby that's primarily wall-huggers effectively prevents everyone else from contributing for large chunks of the fight. Given that it is a lot easier for the chaser to do less than for everyone else to do more, people are going to be justifiably upset when someone selfishly inconveniences everyone else, and imo defames are not an unreasonable response.

 

I understand your point of view and it is somewhat understandable to feel frustrated over it. It does not justify encouraging mass defaming or going so far as to call the player not going to the corner every slur imaginable though.

Every Pierre run I've been too, someone has said things like "Go ------> or you're brain dead gooners", calling someone gay, retard, other things that could get you banned. This sometimes happen even when everyone is going to the corner, too. I find those players to be a lot more toxic than those that don't go to the corner.

 

tbdesu it's not against the rules to defame someone that's not explicitly breaking the rules.
like, its not against the rules to loot from someone droptrading, but it could still get you defamed, it's not against the rules to not run all 4 runs of apq, but it could get you defamed (and community blacklisted).
when the common consensus is becoming that you should hug the corner to kill pierre then don't be surprised when people will be annoyed and defame you when you don't do it. it just becomes antisocial behavior atp

 

I have defamed players I find annoying too. The issue, at least to me, is going so far as to encourage other people to mass defame and using the N-word or [insert any other degrading slur here].
It's not against the rules to not go to the corner. It's not against the rules to defame someone. However, I will personally stop socializing with somebody if I learn they behave like that because some player didn't go to the corner. Like, come on. Defame once and move on, it's not that big of a deal at the end of the day.

 

magickarp, people dont have to be an asshole, they choose to, so they shouldnt be surprised when ppl dont like them.

listen, the simple and short story is:
people are not afraid of consequences, meaning:
black list is super tame, people ruin the game not only by hackin botting or rwt.
how many new players do u see getting into royals every year?
as some 1 whos been here since 2016 im glad that there are over a K people during holidays but the community we got now is probably the most we'll ever have looking forward.

so if we ban long time players for botting and getting 2 chars into boss maps durin events, then hate speech, inciting violence and such should be bannable aswell.

HERE BY! i call any gm whos willin to spend 10-30 min invisible in pierre maps, check out who has malicious intents, and ban them for halloween duration.
im sure that after 2-5 people gettin banned til december we wont have this issue no more.
or else please give us the defenition for what is violence so that anyone would be able to complain about these people.
(i mean there are like 50 ppl in every pierre map, give multiple people the option to report them)

idk if its a good idea but somthing should defenitly be done about this.
or it would just give nice people the opportunity to be assholes too and slowly royals would become solo game like gms.

Nobody is saying mass defame or slurs are okay. But if you go against the flow, getting defamed is on you. Dont cry about it

 

Put a spear trap that pops up every few seconds on both edges of the map. Getting hit by them warps you to the middle of the map. Problem solved!

 

Let's not ignore the negative impact Pierre toxicity has had on the economy. Finding defame buyers has become nigh impossible ever since this new defame farming meta was introduced to the game.
If toxicity isn't a good enough reason to tweak the boss, then think of the struggling royallers with hundreds of devalued (de)fame mules.

i understand why u say what u say.
but the thing is that some of us players consider it an issue, and regardless of filing complaints, its kinda absurd that it bothers the players (who participated in the thread or not) more then people who are supposed to enforce it?
im not saying do it quicker or do it now, but i advocate that somthing should generally be done.
or else why wont more of us go out deliberately to ruin other ppl's days.

that is also why im not necessarily pursuing to get anyone banned (from this threa and pictures).
but anyone incharge who cares about it can go right ahead into pierre (which im 100% sure atleast one of the gms already entered with thier "private" char and saw exactly what im talking about)

so whether u let it be an issue or not seems like pierre this year is just a bit sad.

 

right, its not my job to figure out the punishment, "ban them for halloween" seems like a fitting punishment to me.. thats all.
and also persuing ban for them would be filng a report, what im persuing is for whoever can do somthing about that, would....
act like u own the place, deserved to be put in your place, another suggestion would be to send some players a msg like "hey we see that youre being an asshole, some people actually mind that, do better or suffer any kind of consequence"

im talking about people who actively do it in every ch tryin to mass defame as a game.
that is why my initial best idea that you dismissed, was for some one with actual authurity to go and witness it 1st hand.
