Receiving this error after roughly a month of not logging in. Checked and there weren't any updates I missed or anything along those lines besides the announcements on source code developments, troubleshooting guide was no help as my firewall is off and even if it were on there's a MR exception in its rules, and a quick google on the issue returned nothing but a tech support thread here from a year and a half ago, which was immediately abandoned by its starter because they fixed it and didn't bother to write down how they fixed it or what was wrong.

Hilariously I can connect to GMS just fine on this connection. Any ideas on what's wrong?

There is plenty of ppl who had the problem and it can be many different reasons.
Try restarting your modem and other internet devices, disable things like hamachi, microsoft loopback adapter, and any other network adapters.

Done all that, though I hadn't thought of completely disabling Hamachi since I haven't had any problem with it and MR before. Still no dice.

I tried running it in compatibility modes on a whim and Windows XP service pack 2's compatibility mode loaded the game up no problem. Mystery solved, I guess, lol.

A-yup, no problems now beyond the disconnects and occasional lag, but that's the fault of the source code and not my client and that'll all be fixed with the source code changes.
