Currently, the natural spawn location of Crimson Balrog makes it impossible to utilize their card's effect (increased drop rate in Orbis/El Nath). The ship to Orbis counts as part of the Ellinia region, so the effect never happens in the first place, and for the ship to Ellinia the effect would end immediately on arrival. The only way to actually make use of the card effect is using the monster bag that spawns Crimson Balrog while in Orbis or Nath.

My suggestion is to fix this, either by swapping the regions for the ship ride maps (so Ride to Orbis counts as an Orbis map), or extending the effect of the card to include Ellinia as well.

I think the region is made such that if you died and click ok, you’d be teleported where you came from. This is to prevent “cheating” the boat ride where you can die then click ok and be teleported to your destination without waiting the 10 minutes.

I've been considering this and I don't think the return map is tied to card effect region. For example, the Ratz card improves meso drop rate in all of Eos Tower, but Eos Tower has 2 different return maps depending on where you are (Ludi or Omega Sector). If they were the same, the card effect should only work in part of Eos Tower. And in Mu Lung, Tae Roon's card only works around Sky Forest, and King Sage Cat only works in Peach Forest, but those both return to Mu Lung. So I think those are distinct values. I could be totally wrong, but I think it's worth looking into. At the very least, Crimson Balrog could extend to include Ellinia, and maybe nerf the drop rate or something a bit to make up for it.

I think if someone can get crog card, they don't really need the extra drop rate in Ellinia, so no real need to nerf it. Faust also gives a 20% boost if they wanted.

The way the monster card effect works is that there is a defined range of map IDs in the wz file, and the game checks if your current map is within that range of numbers. Usually this is pretty easy to adjust, since maps in a predefined region will have consecutive map ids. Cards can have multiple designated map id ranges.

All one would need to do is to check if the map id of the ship is in the range. I see that the Crimson Balrog card has 2 defined ranges, and the map id for the ship does not fit within them. Funnily enough, neither do the maps in the El Nath region, contrary to the card description. The fun doesn't stop, because the 2 defined ranges contain maps from Orbis (200000000 - 200082200) and Ellinia/Perion/Possibly others (100040000 - 101030999). The map During The Ride <To Orbis> has id 200090010, which is in neither range.

Anyway, this card is definitely just bugged in my opinion, but the fix is trivial. (That is, unless I'm going senile and missed something... it's been a while since I looked at any of this stuff.)

I include the specific information here for any dev, or any motivated staff member really, to be able to fix it. One could just find a card that already works in a particular region and copy the ranges from there.
