Is Royals friendly to new players?

Hi everyone, I just played Artale recently, and I heard my friend told me that this server is running for very long time, but now is not very friendly to newplayers:
1) many people are late gamers, so very few new players or many of them are just another account of OGs.
2) Due to 1), so there will be no PQs, self-hunting players available and training will be lonely.
3) Artale is quit bugged I think, official sandbox is not comparable to client exe, looking for better experience.

1) Yes, this is correct. Tho many recent updates are beneficial for new players. In general people are very helpful and happy to answer any question you might have.

2) It might be. But it's also up to you. This is an "old school" mmo, player interaction is a thing. Add people to your buddy list. Join a guild, help some people out and don't be a dick. Luckily these "lonely" levels are fairly short. Check out the gazillion guides on the forum for whatever you are looking to do.

3) I am not sure what your question is. This is not gms or Artale. (I quit ems before 3rth job btw. I don't think I can say something usefull about their comparison). Royals has content updates and balance changes and the game has been developing ever since. Regardless, maintaining the "old school" vibe has always been high on the priority list.

hi, regarding #3) the only issue u may find with this game is, since it's unnoficial u gotta install and run this from a folder u gotta add to Windows Defender/antivirus exceptions. aside from that game runs well and some bugs are very rare.

 

As a new player, I actually had a really good first impression of Royals. Other servers I played didn't hit the same.

I joined during the anniversary event when everyone was hitting the Cake Boss, and people were funny, friendly and giving out maple eqs, pots and guiding so nicely on how to run the anniversary PQs.

I still don’t have many friends in-game, being guildless, I’ve probably made only 10 friends so far but everyone has been so kind. Total strangers helped to scroll me scroll INT gear at cost price when I was just trying to price check something on FM. Randos farming marriage etc for me because I didn't have a mage. Accidentally dropped my tma27 Maple Shield, and someone on my buddy list immediately lent me his extra one. It’s “just a game,” but that genuinely meant a lot. I don’t have much time to play these days, but I really wish I did.

Since I joined this server some 6 years ago, I've watched a lot of people "go the extra mile" for new players, so yes, I would say in my opinion there are many people who always enjoy donating their time and or resources to new players. I can't answer for other people, but for myself, I love giving to new players, for whether it's for the normal "feel good" feeling of genuinely helping someone who needs help, or even the more selfish side of "I want to feel liked", but I think it's deeper than that. when I'm helping someone I've just met, I like to think about how this "little instant" for me, could be a turning point for this new player, making them more comfortable playing this server that I love, and bringing them closer to loving this server too!

like any group of people, you're going to find some willing to help more than others, but in this server, I'd say the odds are in your favor. People offering their help is also an amazing opportunity to meet some altruistic people! and I don't know about you, but usually that's just what I'm looking for in a friend.

I hope this finds you well, but I also hope this gets into the hands of some new players who are a little on the shy side, to get out there, ask for help, be open for learning, and meet some amazing people, Maple Royals has a lot of those =)
