Sometimes the game lies to you. I think every instance of this is a glaring issue that really needs to be fixed - it's misleading, confusing, and can (and likely has) caused people to get frustrated and quit. Here's the instances I know of where the game lies to you. If you have others, please comment below: AP resets on buccs and mages lie about how much MP is lost / HP is gained. Other classes are closer but usually I believe show the minimum instead of the full range Holy Symbol description says it requires 3 or more players for full effectiveness. It actually requires 2. Pia and the Blue Mushroom quest, which says you need 60 Blue Mushroom Caps + 60 Green Mushroom Caps when you only need 40 of each instead. Arrow bomb 60% is 20% Whatever is happening with arrow bomb crit: Critical damage is vjvrq9jqies9j34jjviartj923pjq9qj3ooesvmq This works counter to how crit works almost everywhere else in the game, which already isn't explained well. magic guard states "if MP reaches 0, the HP takes a full hit" which implies that any attack that deals more damage than your remaining MP will oneshot you if it is also more than your remaining HP. instead it should say "if MP reaches 0, the HP takes the remaining damage" Ideally, the descriptions/values shown should be fixed to show the accurate ones Lies of omission: Blind is only 30% damage reduction on non-boss mobs, otherwise it's 10% and that's not mentioned at all Mortal blow, Dragon's Breath don't mention how they don't work on boss mobs (there's probably a lot of skills like this -Doom does mention it though) Transformation/Super Transformation don't mention about how they apply haste (minor) Power guard does not say it's only 20% on bosses (or that it does reduce damage taken, that's in a gray area where it's somewhat implied but not confirmed) Soul Arrow does not mention at all that it doesn't give you the attack bonus from whatever arrow you are using; Shadow Star doesn't mention that is does give the attack bonus from the stars you are using Super Transformation also don't mention how long it lasts per level. It says 60-120 seconds, which makes it seem like it's variable every time you use it Guardian doesn't mention pushing the mob back Stab/slash ratios and skills that force them (although this is kind of hard to explain) More minor omissions: SI doesn't mention how much it boosts speed Monster Magnet does not explain at all what the charging does Corkscrew Blow also does not explain that it can be charged to do more damage Energy Charge is kinda confusing because it says it applies "Power Guard" and "Power Stance" but then you'd have to look at the warrior skills to see what those are Stoppers give 60 speed. Speed cap is 40, so that extra 20 is kind of pointless Elewands/staves don't say what stats they boost. Mostly well known that they do by now, so I'd classify this as minor. People keep thinking 8 boosts holy though.
Those ones are actually lying to you, but there's a lot of skills especially where they're just leaving out really important information: Blind is only 30% damage reduction on non-boss mobs, otherwise it's 10% and that's not mentioned at all Mortal blow, Dragon's Breath don't mention how they don't work on boss mobs (there's probably a lot of skills like this -Doom does mention it though) SI doesn't mention how speed goes up by one at lvl 11 Transformation/Super Transformation don't mention about how they apply haste Monster Magnet does not explain at all what the charging does Corkscrew Blow also does not explain that it can be charged to do more damage Energy Charge is kinda confusing because it says it applies "Power Guard" and "Power Stance" but then you'd have to look at the warrior skills to see what those are Unless you look at the class guides on forums it's often hard to make sense of what your skills do with just the in-game descriptions, and you can end up spending points on something you think will be OP only to find it out doesn't work that way at all
It would be lovely to find information in game about random stuff, but alas, here we are B,) Soul Arrow does not mention at all that it doesn't give you the attack bonus from whatever arrow you are using; Shadow Star doesn't mention that is does give the attack bonus from the stars you are using Super Transformation also don't mention how long it lasts per level. It says 60-120 seconds, which makes it seem like it's variable every time you use it Guardian doesn't mention pushing the mob back Some quests also have incorrect requirements and texts compared to what is actually required. One that comes to the top of my mind is Pia and the Blue Mushroom, which says you need 60 Blue Mushroom Caps + 60 Green Mushroom Caps when you only need 40 of each instead.
I was mostly trying to list complete lies, as they're the most critical and there's a LOT of missing information. Like how power guard is only 20% vs bosses, or how candy just doesn't have a description. I think if it's obvious there's missing information it's fine (even if not ideal) as people will know it's missing and look it up if they care, but if it's not obvious then it should be included. Like magnet's charge is fine as it clearly does something, but a skill having reduced effectiveness on bosses isn't. Anyways, edited everything into the main post!
Mages are supposed to be magical, yet someone arbitrarily decided that "yes, mages should also be subject to 1/1" And before you say that's for some "bug fix" just look at shads with shado shifter only losing 50% HP. LF>1/1 "bug fix" revert
Added, although stab/slash ratios might not really be a thing that can be explained in game sadly. Still, skills that force a stab or a slash should say so at least
It's only physical damage (which the skill does say), and only 20% for bosses (which the skill does not say)

I think those are supposed to be auto generated? So they just need a refresh, I thought there was a thread for that but not sure
Also: - Heartstoppers say they add 60 speed but the max speed boost is 40 - Capes that have been scrolled for "Add Prevent Coldness" don't actually prevent cold damage Since you're counting omissions: - Elemental Wands/Staves don't say what effect they have on Elemental Damage
magic guard states "if MP reaches 0, the HP takes a full hit" which implies that any attack that deals more damage than your remaining MP will oneshot you if it is also more than your remaining HP. instead it should say "if MP reaches 0, the HP takes the remaining damage"
