So we heard through the grapevine that guilds could be expanded past 100 members, which we jumped at because we're absolutely overflowing right now, even after kicking inactives, alts, and HS mules. Turns out it's not true, but I believe it takes the 5m off you anyway (@Whoriscope wanna confirm?) Anyway, then I got to thinking - why is it capped at 100? I understand this was the original limitation in gms, but is there any reason to keep that limitation here? Would it even be a difficult change? I understand that with the updated Guild Alliance feature that we'll have more flexibility with making sister-guilds or something, but I would argue this is no different to upping capacity, whilst imposing unnecessary limitations (no shared BBS or member list, for example). With the influx of new members and the growth of the server, we've built a great little active community, but we're reaching the point that we can't invite any more new people to join in, and that's a crying shame. So, thoughts?
Might be a small issue, but recently there have been problems with an entire guild's keyboard setup and other stuff being completely wiped and seems to only happen guild wide. I'd rather have those problems avoided by saying nay to guild expansion. You could always make a new guild and alliance with it. Brings up friendly competition and breeds closer ties. Plus, isn't that why alliances are made in the first place? With the new source code, hopefully the alliance tab is fixed and will work just like expanding a guild.
With Shade's 85+ unique active members, it's really hard to make space for the guild. We have been kicking all alts, and still struggle to find space. At this point we've been doing sweeps to the point where basically inactivity for 2weeks means they get booted. That's a really tough thing to do, and I would personally love the expansion of the guild capacity.
Yes from me, it would've been nice if there was a possibility to have more than just one leader aswell
Never happened in EMS, atleast As for the topic, as @Plenty already suggested with the new source coming up you could make a another guild and alliance with it. I don't think this is neccesary implement since it can be 'bypassed' with alliance. I can understand why you rather keep all the members in 1 same guild tho
+1 to this I think despite the oncoming arrival of the new source (#newsourcehype) ushering this expanded Alliance feature, being in different guilds within an alliance is quite a bit different from being within the same guild and I would be all for an enlarged guild capacity ^If this was possible, that would be amazing too <3
When I needed more room, I created a second guild and ran both guilds through multi-client. Was hella fun, but hella work. Now Alliance chat works, so it'd be more seamless. But I think the best thing we could do for guilds is create a way to track when players last logged in. Many games have a "Last Online" description next to the player's name in the guild tab. It would be incredibly helpful when purging inactive users. It's such a hassle to have to track everyone.
Maybe we can make it so that a guild can get the option to expand by 5, 10, 15, etc, past 100 slots if they get a certain amount of guild points. Would give guilds an incentive to GPQ
Haha sorry. I'm never certain whether to make a new thread or not because people always complain that it's been requested before.
