How many hours per day did you put in? Did you have work? Job? Were parties readily available to boss and party? Since they weren't doing Shao and LHC? You say it's not very hard to get to 200 in a few months, the data says completely different from the staff blog 2025 recap 2025: 83188 characters were created 171 characters created in 2025 made it to lvl 200. That's 0.02% Even if you said that 1/3 of them are real characters and not mules, and let's say 1/3 were within that 4 month window so we won't count them... That's not even 1% (It's 0.925% of players) Data Source: https://royals.ms/forum/threads/staff-blog-2025-recap.253426/ As for the Tokens of teamwork, the rate is not that generous. There are plenty of Cody Potions, Banana Graham Pies, and Smegas, and such there too. If you KPQ'd at 8 minutes a run that's 40 minutes for a chance at 1 pull.... Hardly 'profitable' Again you treat the 'bishop is a must' as not a requirement... and yet of the characters who hit 120+ in 2025..... Bishop (1173), followed by F/P Mage (661) with Buccaneer (546) sweeping up a third place! For the bossing class that Bucc is.... you see that mages outrank them 3:1 You treat voting as this magic thing that will solve issues, the meta should not be "Don't play this game for a year" then you'll have 9b to advance your character. The VL stuff was based on earlier in the thread not directly at you. Yeah at 199 you're not thinking the economy was screwed, but you're probably thinking that at 110 when you're looking at your first end game weapons.... Yet on Discord you see a decent number of posts of people who become disillusioned Examples from Discord this month alone: idk still at 101 i need a good 6 more monts to get to level 150 ish and make some mesos, Hello everyone im trading mp pots as in sunset and sunrise dews for hp pots such as reindeer milk or anything to be honest. As a new white knight i find my self using many many potions and embarrassing as this may sound but it's getting kinda pricey and at the moment I can't really farm any bossed to make real mesos to support my hp pots.. Even better if someone can dm me any location or monsters that drops good hp pots I would 100000% be grateful as I can level up and collect the potions. I'm currently at level 100 WK Thanks so much royals Selling leech on my bishop kinda makes me wanna quit the game though. So making mesos will just be kinda slow for a bit. yeah the real issue in general is just finding ways to make meso you find out quickly at ~4th job that 8K a day voting NX doesn't actually do much for funding needs you want to be able to generate hundreds of millions of MESO a week -Response: If you want money then bishop is the way to go personally I find the sell leech to get funds to sit on a rope for 130+ levels and then sell more leech to buy gear so you can be a funded NL and hold a button down and fall asleep during bosses kinda boring But for an expensive weap u need a bishop to get some mesos And the number of people who quit I have a sort of complicated (maybe) washing question. I quit approximately 5 years ago in the middle of washing my hermit, I guess. I have 214 unused AP (I'm assuming fresh, but I'm not sure) and the following stats... Hey guys, so like 99% of mapleroyalers, I quit like 2 years ago and now want to try to play again. I have hero level 140, i/l 131, but I feel i want to create a new char. I just dont have the time to farm and wanna get to 120 before i quit forever its been 1 month for 85-88 mostly cuz unable to play dont even know what zakum is ?? i quit a long time ago and dont remember much about this game i just want to hit 50 save Nx get ws/cs sell then and not have to worry about running out of money to recharge stars This the part were people either suck it up or quit. --- The point stands, people are making mages to farm and sell leech more than they are making characters to boss. It's a job. When you've got a guild and a bunch of friends willing to take you no matter the level that's fine. You're not getting invites without at least that 15 W.ATK Gloves 10 W.ATK Cape 7 W.ATK Shoes (6b) unless you're in a guild that is offering charity. Where are players getting that 6b? Selling leech and mage farming, it's not a fun gameplay loop and stops people from playing the classes they want. I'm not saying replace the hard work for the bishop and mage factory. I'm saying the non-mage farming/leech selling part of the game needs more than "Go APQ" or "Go hunt this tedious mob for 2 hours to make 50-60m.... I'm saying leave the 80-200m/hour options to the sweaty tryhards But the non-mage newbies need more than 20-30m/hour options.... And so far the only answer is...APQ
Appreciate the math but we both know 0.02% is not accurate since most of the 83188 characters made were fm store mules or storage mules in general. If we have an active player base of 2k, 178 characters hitting 200.. is quite a lot. Back in 2021 lhc did not exist and with no lhc, there isnt rg. Point being, if lhc, rg and shao/ht (before 180) was not needed to get to 200 in 3months, its not wrong to claim that getting to 200 is easy. Let’s also not talk about end game weapons when you’re level 110 because why would you need a perfect weapon then. The examples you listed out are all extremist examples which should not be factored into when discussing on server feedback. Like tell me honestly if you believe someone took a month to level from 85 to 88 on a private server with boosted rates. And even if that were true, I dont think this thread is that person’s concern anywhere in the near future either. mw20 sells for 1.65b market price atm. Join a 5 man horntail party and get a split of 320m +/- after tax. Horntail takes 1hour ish for pre 200 parties. If they play for an hour a day and assuming shit drop rate of 1 x mw20 every 7 days you still get 320m in a week. You can get decent gear with that mesos. If you want luxury, put in the effort and do other content. Just voting gets you 8k a day. If you do papulatus, ephenia and chao you net an average of another 10k minimum. Thats 1.825b a month from selling apr just playing for 30minutes a day. Sure its not enough for a 6b wa 17 glove but if you only can play 30minutes a day you wont be able to use a wa 17 glove for bossing runs. If you have the goals and ambitions of joining bossing runs that means you have the time to go for bossing runs and if you have time to go for bossing runs, you have the time to do content to fund those runs. New players should manage their expectations of being able to do stuff immediately. Everything takes time. And you most definitely do not need a perfect weapon to start bossing.
Part of the problem is I do think lower levels don't have good income - there's pretty much nothing besides vote/APQ until lv 155 (HT), and even that'll be hard to join parties right at 155. Yeah there's some niche farm methods but noobs generally don't know about them and not everyone can do them because it'll tank prices if so. CWK/Zak drop rates are garbage, and selling helms/mons mostly just covers apple costs. Another big part of the problem I think is misinformation/people not knowing how to earn money, and being told they need very expensive gear/washing to do anything. And I'm not really sure what the actual solution to the misinformation is, people just... say things and there's no way to stop that. Anyways in conclusion add 100/250 NX cards to LPQ bonus.
That would require people actually doing quests and reading what they say, which most people don't. Also feels kind of out of spirit of the game and would need continual updates to stay relevant. Basic gear can mostly be acquired through just playing the game, especially PQs are good at giving strong gear for noobs. And noob gear isn't really that expensive either, it's getting decently scrolled stuff where it starts to hurt.
It did get off topic. The issue of providing players in low level with other form of income will need to be addressed in a whole different feedback thread. I could not solve it with my idea. As I said before, any implementation of low level mesos making method will probably be shut down by the staff due to safety concerns in regards to hackers and RWT. I am trying to keep the idea as practical as possible in the hopes that the server economy could be recovered if changes are being done quickly, because at its current state prices are just gonna keep drop to the point where no content is worth doing besides mage farming. Please keep any feedback about low level mesos making concerns limited to the impact of the suggested change or any alternative change that comes from the disscussion of nerfing mage farm and stopping the deflation proccess in the server.
try using less delayed skills. Triple throw or hurricane would get you 20m from npcing the non godly gears every 15-20mins The godly gears would get you 100-150m like japanese maps and 40-50m for warrior female top i tested it for several hours when i was lv120. Did them again when i wanted green bandanas. But i digress this can be discussed in another thread
if you would like to meme please bring this to the meme thread. Other people here are more interested in having a discussion that would benefit the server. seems like you’re only here to attract attention without contributing anything of substance (at least from your previous posts thus far). maybe the GMs should consider deleting drks? Since they are clearly overpowered from your showcase of "skill" in rg with 30 cgs and everyone else struggling in rg has skill issues like you mentioned. the irony of having to say this to someone who mentioned this thread was going off topic.
The problem to me is how bossing and pqing is becoming less profitable as the value of most bossing drops continues to go down over time. When I reached the point I could join HT runs and needing to buy these books, I remember MW being sold for max meso and Gen30 going for just under 1b. Auf miracle scrolls used to sell for over 300m, and now they can be less than 200m. This effect even includes VL drops as we've seen the price of RTK manuals, HW, and VL boots lose so much value over the past year or two. The reason for this is that more and more players can run these staple bosses while the demand for many of the items hasn't been able to keep up with this. The result is the pressure we feel (and many resent) to stop bossing and instead either start mage farming or gamble CS as way to keep up... which is sad, because bossing together with friends, guildies, and meeting new people there is arguably the most satisfying part and hallmark of the game. Not everyone can or should be hassled to play the game in the very unnatural way of spinning up 4+ clients to mage farm, or can or should be encouraged to CS consistently as a way to profit. So I do think the solution is to make tweaks to keep mid-to-high level bossing and pq rewards meso-competitive. I don't know a good specific solution as diagnosing a problem is so much easier, but here's some ideas: Significantly increase the meso value of meso bags dropped by bosses into the millions Increase the number or amount of NX cards dropped by bosses/pqs Add new valuable drops to bosses, like how duct tape was added to Vergamot Release PB as a very challenging boss, so the supply of current main boss drops decrease, and more players are incentivized to make an Auf helm Release a class balance patch that encourages many new characters to be made Continue efforts as a community to make the game approachable and fun for new players
while i do like a lot (really, all) of these ideas, increasing the amount of nx dropped or adding more valuable items to existing bosses won't address the important issue you identified: Duct Tape is a perfect example, in that its price fell significantly when added to Vergamot. this happened because the demand for Duct Tape has always been the same (not in absolute terms, but in a way that's proportional to the volume of the player base), and it's now easier to obtain for all players. (that's not to say it isn't a good change; i really like it personally.) increasing the amount of nx dropped would have a similar effect, increasing the supply of gachapon items (but would probably also result in things like cheaper aprs) i think, at the heart of the issue (that is, bossing becoming less and less profitable), is that mesos now have significantly higher value. players with the means to earn huge amounts of mesos (namely, by multi-mage farming) were unaffected during the rg nerf, where the old rg had given all players an equal capacity to earn pure mesos at a competitive rate my take: honestly, i don't think the idea of obtaining pure mesos from rg (or other "natural" content) is inherently bad, but the rate needs to be adjusted in line with current available meso sinks (notably, the cost of making new vl belts) so that the supply of mesos doesn't explode, leading to massive inflation (like before). multi-mage farm rates would also need to be adjusted
To these points, I would argue fundamentally that supply has increased and demand is flat People are hitting their goals, and don't have content to focus on now besides bossing/farming (Especially VL and HT). So we've got more people than ever bossing as their 'this is what I'm doing today' plan. We don't have content we're encouraging the players to try and do outside these. So they're farming and bossing. (And the content we've had Halloween, Christmas, etc, are very Pro-farming and pro-bossing content.)
I think a big step in the right direction would be slowly reworking some of the events over time. Right now a lot of the events that are most exciting to players are the ones where you can earn a lot of mesos in a limited time frame. It fuels the FOMO, and there's a big scramble and rise in active players to get in on it. For example, wish tickets/dumplings, anni boxes, xmas boxes, etc. It's kinda nice that they drop from regular mobs because even low lvl players can participate. BUT.... the big issue is that the mage farmers are once again the big winners during these events, because they can exploit them in an extreme way. And worse, these events drive everyone away from party content towards solo farming (including solo pap/chao/eph). It's kinda sad to think the times when the server is most lively, everyone is just off playing alone. This is an MMO! The best part of this game is playing together with lots of people! The thing is, I think staff already found a way to pull off the perfect event (maybe they didn't even realize how perfect it was, so I need to say it!). In my opinion, it was the gold zakum helmets dropping during anni event one year. That was so good, because it couldn't really be exploited by mage farmers, and it was accessible even to early bossing players. It forced pros to join content they normally were too good for and shake up the usual routine, because the rewards were actually worthwhile. I remember joining up with all kinds of parties during that time, meeting a lot of new people I wouldn't have interacted with otherwise. It was so refreshing, nostalgic, and exciting. It was the perfect event, and I remember it fondly Please keep that in mind, and try to recapture that magic again!
Pretty much every game community has moved toward “how do I get the most for the least effort.” People used to mess around, try weird builds, or just grind because it was chill. Now it’s all about efficiency, AFK setups, mage farming and anything that saves time. It’s not really a Royals problem, it’s just how gaming culture is now. Everyone’s older, busier, and way more used to modern games that hand out rewards fast. So naturally the community gravitates toward low‑effort, high‑return stuff. Anything that isn’t optimal gets ignored. Not saying it’s good or bad — just different. But yeah, the shift is real. Tackling this shift isn’t a one‑step fix — it’ll take a mix of changes to make a real difference. The main one is rewarding high EFFORT gameplay. 1. Tackle the afkable, low effort/minimal attention mage farming The way to fix this is to inject EFFORT back into multi mage farming by making loot dropped from an ulti (gen/blizzard/meteor shower) only lootable by manual looting and not pet (like farming at stoppers). Mage farmers won't like it, but low effort shouldn't be rewarded with the highest meso making source in the game. 2. Incentivise niche goals (for rich players) via Item/Meso Sink Same idea as chair gach. Some end gamers want to collect niche items in exchange for their wealth. I.e. Item Sink Ideas: NPC a Chaos Scroll for a 1/1000 chance to unlock a Chaos Scroll Pet or Chair 3. Increase consumable farming (reward onyx apple farmers) by rewarding EFFORT in boss runs. Finish a boss under a certain time? This EFFORT should be rewarded with an increase in godly drop or NX card drop. I.e. Zak run under 10minutes? Double the amount of Zak helms drop HT run under 30 minutes? 2x eggs and 2x HTP KREX run under 20 minutes? 2x krex rings RG boss under 10 minutes? 2x IFIA ring chance This fun change would severely increase the demand for apples and also affect CGS prices + weapon prices. Don't have the required range to trio under 10 minutes at zak? Invite more friends On a side note, organising a party with multiple people should be considered HIGH EFFORT and it should be rewarded. Beginner to intermediate royals players should be able to enjoy the game by banding together instead of buying VIP. 6 attacker zak run? No problem, more people = faster finishing time and double the helm drops. Additional benefit would be increasing onyx apple prices which would benefit beginner and intermediate players. 4. More leniency to DCs in boss runs Current situation is unsustainable. If someone DC's in a HT/AUF/VL run there goes all your EFFORT recruiting and setting a time to coordinate everyone. All it takes are a few boss runs where someone DCs and the run is ruined to stop people even bothering joining future runs. Solution? Make a waiting room upon return and back into the boss room as a dead person needing resurrection from a bishop. 5. Fixing low effort shad smokescreen play. What a joke lmao. SS all day and watch netflix and get your free mw20 book (look at those prices). TLDR: Low effort (considered efficient gameplay) is ruining everything. High Effort should be rewarded. We have the content, we don't need new content... it just doesn't compare to mage farming in terms of effort to reward ratio.
the thing is to achieve Low Effort Income u need to do High Efforts people soloing NT, Auf and bosses used to join runs with more people, they just got to the point where they're strong or optimal enough When i was leveling my first char i had those quad krex 35-40min runs and dcing was fatal, now i do 20min duos at krex i'm not a mage farmer, not a solo boss runner , far from being rich or such but the thing is if you play the game and do your homework eventually you will be doing less and winning more also, rushing bosses as you mention to get more rewards while it sounds good it will end up being the same: a single human with 6 chars or more selling VIP extra fast service. If they wanna balance stuff they must do it thinking on how to limit or reward a Human and not characters or accounts, if you buff content some people will abuse because they're optimal already if u wanna do something that affects everyone once u can buff voting because it only affects 1 account per human (considering ppl don't vote abuse) because if you buff mob drop rates Mage farming is there, if you buff current bosses Single person parties are there, if u buff gacha NX farmers are there but balancing NX per vote affects every human once or you can make content that works like Snowman/Pierre/GM events where u can only bring 1 char per person to ensure it's not that exploitable and u get to cooperate with people just make it rewarding
"also, rushing bosses as you mention to get more rewards while it sounds good it will end up being the same: a single human with 6 chars or more selling VIP extra fast service." Compare the effort of 6 Zak attackers and 6 mages. Zak: Gear up and wash all 6 zak attackers. (high effort to gear up, wash and do prequest x6) Door them and sign up for expedition. Buff and dispell attackers, reposition throughout the whole boss fight. Alt tab 6 attackers the whole fight. Mage farm: Login, spam genesis, loot. (low effort, no washing, no gears needed, just an ele wand) Stop/start whenever you want. Watch netflix to not get bored whilst you alt-tab and hold genesis. Your judgement of EFFORT is not correct.
both are results of Effort mage farming takes hours, bossing doesn't mage farming is simple, bossing isn't still for both u had to prepare ur characters, their build and gear, stats and leveling, positioning and strategy both setups require Effort, both methods didn't happened overnight, the player had to do a lot to do less now
