I'm pressing many keys to input many inputs at 1:1. I have multiple videos describing my entire set up in full that i can share with you in private. Can i message you or another mod on discord?
We already asked you to share your tech on january 31st, you seem to have chosen to ignore that and asked two vaguely related questions instead. https://royals.ms/forum/threads/rule-clarification.254460/ https://royals.ms/forum/threads/rule-check.254459/
Looks like I missed your message or there was miscommunication. If I missed the message, my apologies to you and the staff for the inconvenience I caused. I'm going to send you a message on discord with time stamped recordings you asked for on the 31st. I want to keep the recordings private because it has private messages from others and shows other personal information outside of the scope of this game. What did you use to try to contact me so I know where to look for future reference? I don't see any messages on my forum account, discord, or email I proactively messaged Foxy Jan 30th 7pm EST to have an open dialogue about this and she referred me to that location to ask my questions. By the time Heidi told me I didn't follow the format on Feb 16th I simply didn't update those threads. Those threads were made without knowledge of you contacting me so that's why they're unrelated to your initial message. Hopefully that gives some clarity as to what happened. When I spoke with Heidi on the 16th I sent a message in chat at the end asking if she's still there because I had recordings that proved I noticed the discrepancy much earlier than when I responded to Heidi's message on offlinetvfan. If you look through the chat logs you'll see I said something along the lines of "Heidi, are you there? I have evidence I noticed it". I will include this video evidence in the dm. I hope you will see this as supporting evidence that on Feb 16th I continued trying to get in touch with you guys to help prove my innocence and I genuinely did and do not see your attempt to reach out to me on Jan 31st. Is there any other information you want me to clarify that will help you in your review of my account? Thanks!
I'm going to jump in and clarify a couple of points here where I have been mentioned. Those threads were unrelated. I told you to follow the correct format on a different report that you had made against another player. We also do not consider those threads to be a reasonable attempt to verify that your methods were within our ToS, as they are vague and lack context. To be clear, that interaction is largely unrelated to your ban. Whether or not you could respond "promptly" is not the issue, as Tim explained above. Multiple staff members have in fact monitored your play style on many occasions, and we have also had multiple experienced yeti/pepe farmers approach us with concerns that what you are doing does not seem to be possible to do by a player complying with our ToS. You should explain in detail how you did your farming. This has to be in public, like for everybody else who is appealing a ban.
Yes, I assumed the reason the other threads weren't replied to was because I didn't follow the format and you didn't want to repeat yourself in all 3 posts I made. It was never communicated to me the other 2 threads weren't reasonable attempts to verify, so I took an educated guess that the formatting was why there was no reply. I considered sending another message to ask for a reply but since I had already sent 3 personal forum threads in one month I chose not to so I don't spam you. Regardless, I reached out to Foxy on the 30th proactively, which I think was before Tim or any other GM communicated with me about this, so hopefully that message was enough to show a reasonable attempt to verify my methods and that I'm not maliciously hiding information to try to bot and not get caught. I've asked foxy for permission to show the dm's I sent to her on the 30th so the public can see, timestamped, exactly what my attempt to contact you guys about this looked like. If she agrees I'll post it. Okay, sounds good, we're on the same page now that I'm in the clear for that interaction. Thanks for communicating this to me. Can you help me understand what allowed Joon and pogdog to go through DMs in their ban appeals regarding farming? I spent a lot of time and effort to research and develop my technique and want to keep my technique private for that reason. https://royals.ms/forum/threads/ban-appeal.149894/ https://royals.ms/forum/threads/ban-appeal.229494/ Edit: Foxy gave me permission. Here's the DM
On the 30th/31st (depending on what timezone), you DM'ed Foxy on discord, and as we can all see in the screenshot, she advised you to explain what you were doing to us. You said you did not want to tell us, because we might nerf it. This in itself is a terrible reason to not tell us, because if it is something we were not aware was possible, then it might very well be glitch abuse. You did not miss the message, and there was no miscommunication - the problem is clearly that you did not want to do what you were advised to do. Then after that DM, you made the two threads you linked to, asking two very specific, out of context, questions, as opposed to just telling us exactly what you were doing so that we could say yay or nay to it. If you indeed thought that you got no reply due to not following the formatting, then the correct thing to do would have been to follow up with the correct format, rather than deciding that it was enough of an effort you'd made, and so you could now safely do whatever it is that you do. Out of fairness to all players, and in the interest of transparency, we are now very strict about keeping ban appeals public. It would be best for you to just explain what you do here, in text (no need for video unless we then ask for it).
Since it sounds like in the two years since pogdog's post you guys changed the rules and I have to reveal what I do publicly, I will share. Your server, your rules. I will continue to do my best to follow them. Allow me to speak directly to the public about this ban appeal. Hello everyone! Many of you are trying to figure out what's going on and are justifiably concerned. I've been reading your comments and will do my best to address what I can. Grab some popcorn and enjoy About a year or two ago, I was a boss organizer. Many of you have been on my ht/zak/cwk runs etc. I shared the same sentiment many of you had about mage farm. Yucky, gross, go take a shower. But after a while I realized just how long it would take me to have a shot at Tim's shiny 29 attack shoe if he ever chose to sell it, so I joined the dark side and started experimenting with mage farming after seeing dickdann's videos. In my experimentation, I believed I discovered a way to make upwards of 2 to 3 billion an hour by innovating on the theorycrafting of dickdann and others. I noticed two major improvements I could make to his setup. The first was that he was using multiple PC's. A workaround to this is to use virtual machines instead, which were confirmed legal. With VM's, you can have one keyboard go specifically to that VM even though it's all plugged into one PC. It also allows you to use one monitor to see all your looters. The second improvement was the input method. Dickdann used numpads, and you can't conveniently press multiple keys with one hand. The solution I found was to use single row keyboards. This is a massive advantage, because now you can stack the keyboards and conveniently control 10 looters with 10 fingers, more if you're allowed to just lay your entire finger across a row of keys and its still considered 1:1. That was why I asked the GM's if two keys with one body part is allowed. It's a stupid question, but I believed everything else I was doing had a precedent, so I checked. You'll find a screenshot below, taken today, of my attempt to get this answered. After months of buying leech to make mages, troubleshooting virtual machines and nerding out over pc hardware, it was pretty clear to me my technique was working and I was faced with a difficult decision. Do I release this knowledge to all of you? If I release it, every single mage farm map is going to be controlled by 1 person on 20 channels. This didn't seem healthy for the server, and yes, I fully admit me grabbing 20 channels of mage farm maps is also not healthy for the server. But my understanding was that everything I was doing is allowed since other mage farmers have done what I do, just not at my scale so I chose to give it a shot and keep it private. 2-3 billion meso an hour. Would you do it? I figured there was a good chance I'd be banned before I committed to this, so I crossed my t's and dotted my i's. I was content with how much I explored in royals and was ready to move on to experiment just like this, but in real life. For those of you who know me personally, I hope you understand now. Here is the video you've all been waiting for showing my setup. This was recorded January 10th as I planned my departure. GM's, please let me know if you need any more information about my setup to unban me. I would like to have the option to come back and try some stuff in the future, but totally understand if you'd prefer I'm not around anymore, no hard feelings #FREEOFFLINETVFAN
Yes, I made a few changes. 1. I still use my lovely amazon box chopstick foot pedals, but one is attached to a single key keyboard and alt+escape is now bound to one key on another keyboard. My understanding is it's confirmed legal here: https://royals.ms/forum/threads/is-this-illegal-or-not.228824/ 2. Since you and other GM's have been watching me, you've probably seen me test different combinations of looters and mages with varying success. I'll let the community speculate on what maps I tried, but yes, I did end up scaling the setup the way I described in the video. I have more VM's and keyboards, but the actions are otherwise the same. Edit: I rewatched my video and see that I explained my old method to position mages, not my new method. To reposition the mages, I press alt+escape on my right foot pedal, I press left/right and I press TP, or shift on my white keyboard. My understanding is this is legal as everything is 1:1. If you need more information on this, let me know I have a video of me doing this as well. If I didn't miss anything else, the actions are the same. Allow me to address some of the public's questions I saw last night. Yes, I did loot other people's channels, but it was completely unintentional. This was a part of the growing pains of my experiments. In the maybe 30 or 40 hours I spent farming over the last 2 months, I caught myself looting the wrong channels maybe 6 or 7 times. I apologized when I noticed it and would change back to the correct channel, but it sounds like sometimes I looted others maps and did not notice. I have no way of knowing if this is true or not, but it likely is. To those people, here is my public apology to you. If I am unbanned, please feel free to reach out to me and I will make you whole. This does not happen frequently now as I've grown comfortable using 5+ looters. I also implemented visual cues to remind me to change from the third channel to the first on each looter. The 2 to 3 billion figure is not exaggerated. If the rules stay as they are, as I understand them, this is possible Happy theory crafting everyone!
The maximum for the looters was 7 or 8 plus 2 foot pedals and my main mouse/keyboard. I controlled this by using 1 hand for 3 or 4 keyboards and another hand for 3 or 4 keyboards.
After careful consideration, I’ve decided to release all information I know in 100% transparency to the general public excluding information that needs to be withheld to protect the privacy of others. Please be patient with me, as I have IRL commitments throughout this week. I will need some time to go through the footage and edit. I’m guessing Tim asked about the maximum keyboards I used because he was concerned that I lied about 2-3b meso per hour, so let me clarify this to the GM’s for my ban appeal, and to the public to show, assuming my methods are legal, 2-3b is possible. Crags is correct,I was trying to communicate that I found a way to make 2-3b meso per hour, but of course it takes a massive amount of setup, which I was on the path to completing. The approximate maximum meso I actually managed to make before I got banned was about 1b an hour. I didn’t track too carefully because I was focused on setting up for the strategy below. This was done with 15 or 18 channels of IV2 at about 50m per channel per hour plus red envelope. You also get orbis etc, but I don't include it in the income figure because it takes a lot of time and effort to sell at scale. Keep in mind this was a WIP, so there is almost certainly improvements to be made to this setup. I was planning to record a video explaining this like the last video once I figured it out but I was banned before I could get it done, so we’ll have to settle for text+images. Something about my setup will almost certainly be nerfed or called illegal, so don't try this at home. Anyways, let’s get to it, here’s how to make 2-3 billion meso per hour The map is Western Region of Mossy Tree Forest 2 Its about 75m from npcing equips and 75m from ellin forest exchange quest per channel, totaling 150m per map. 150m*20 channels=3b before event RE and godly’s from ellin exchange. You will need: -80 FP mages with enough tma to 1 hit. -20 Bishops -20 looters -20 single row keyboards -Papulatus prequest done on all characters -A screw loose in your head Loot path: Start at the yellow arrow. Follow grey line into tp1 and tp once. Drop down, following the arrows back into tp1. Hit the tp one time Walk left up until you loot everything, then turn around and drop to the center, going right until you drop into tp1. Hit tp twice, bringing you to tp3. Drop down and loot. Tp4 is not used. Once you’re at the bottom, cc to any other channel then cc back to the original channel to be teleported to the yellow arrow. Repeat. Mage Repositioning: Alternate between the “a” location and the “b” location using TP after 100 casts. Fp1 and Fp4 locations may not be ideal. I put purple dots for alternative locations I was going to test for these mages. NPCing When looters are full, which as a rough estimate is probably about every 20-30 minutes, alt+escape+hotkey for door and after completing the looting path, instead of ccing, go through the door at bs1. The door location changes based on when the BS joined the party. IIRC the bishop needed to be the first in the party for the door to appear next to the ellin merchant. Walk right, hold y while left clicking to npc. Press escape, walk left, up to door back to map, cc to any other channel hen cc back to return to yellow arrow. Physical keyboard setup: There are a few ways to do this and I didn’t get to completely test which ways work, but here’s the idea. The loot path can be done in about 40 seconds. This means if you’re extremely good with hitting the jump to climb up the rope and the jump to get into tp1, you could loot 3 channels before the first map’s mesos expire. I was figuring out ways to control 5 looters with one hand, pausing at the jumps to use two hands one 1 set of 5 keyabords, then two hands on another set of keyboards. This would mean in theory you could control 10 looters at once, taking 40 seconds to loot, then control the other 10 looters, taking 40 seconds, allowing you to loot 20 channels in 80 seconds with 100 seconds to spare and making 3b an hour. This, I imagine, is extremely mentally taxing to do, but you would still have 1min 20 seconds or so of leeway. Instead, you could settle for 15 channels. What you would do is control 5 looters at once the way I showed in the first video, with two hands. It would take 40 seconds, then you move your hands to a different set of 5 keyboards, repeat, then a third set of 5 keyboards repeat. Total time would be 120 seconds, giving you 60 seconds or so of wiggle room for mistakes before you start losing meso. This would give you about 2.2b an hour. For reference, I was about 5 or 6 days away from having enough characters for 9 channels before I was banned. GMs, let me know if you have more questions. I believe I had videos of me doing 15 channels of IV2 to show you I’m not botting. I also have excel sheets with logs of my transactions to show you I wasn’t RWTing. Give me some time to prepare these. Happy mapling everyone!
While checking you out in game and going through multiple reports, we found multiple concerns with your gameplay resulting in a permanent ban for robotic play. We're not suspecting you of RWT activities so we won't be needing any excel sheets on that. 1. Playing MapleRoyals requires interaction. This is and always has been the case, also for multi client setups like mage farms. taken from the game rules appendix for robotic play: 'leaving weights on your keyboard, or any other method which allows your character to function without your presence or interaction will be considered grounds for consequences under this rule.' In a regular windows PC setting you cannot hold down alt, esc and your mage ult indefinitely (until 100 attack limit). This would require additional settings such as sticky keys to repeat an input which is not allowed. That information is widely known and respected by multi farming mages that hold down their mage ult key for example, but they manually tap their alt and esc or click their game clients for each game client switch. We consider that interaction with the game. You leaving your two feet on three makeshift pedals to press two keyboards and a mouse button to indefinitely (until 100 attack limit) isn't considered interaction and we would argue your feet/pedals are 'leaving weights on your keyboard'. Even though you're 'present', you're not paying attention to your mage activity as you control your multiple looters with your hands and attention span. 2. You shared your setup and added additional information for 100% transparency, however there still seems to be unexplained activity from your gameplay. One of these activities that we would like to focus on is a more complex input being performed at the same time to at least 6 active mage clients at the time of our observation circling back to my first question on your ban appeal: 'how come your key inputs are being executed at multiple game clients at the same time?' We reviewed video evidence of you teleporting at least 6 of your mages simultaneously in the same direction following up with the mage ult spam (repositioning in Ice Valley II). This cannot be achieved by any methods you explained in your video where you claim to go through your clients one by one with alt + esc as there would be visible input delay. It's a lot more likely that you mapped a single keyboard to provide inputs to multiple or all the mage VMs for that kind of activity based on your familiarity with selecting USB inputs to VMs although that would be speculation. 3. A person cannot keep up with this amount of game clients all doing some sort of action. You've proven this yourself by not noticing some of our anti robotic play prompts in game for over 5 minutes, and your unawareness of looting various channels that you weren't farming in which disrupted gameplay of other mage farmers. That cycles us back to the broken rule: 'Robotic Play - This act will be defined as the failure of a player to respond to a member of Staff when prompted and visibly at the controls of their character, as evidenced by actions such as movement or use of skills. In the situation where a player is prompting another player, a response is not strictly mandatory; however, a player report in which a player is being prompted numerous times without a response over a long period of time may be considered sufficient evidence for consequences under this rule at the discretion of Staff. ' 4. We've shown leniency to players exploring the boundaries of inputs and multi clienting advantages in the past as they involved staff in their experiments and thought process, (often leading to warnings instead) and we offered the same to you by advising you to explain what tech you were working on in a private sub forum post for staff eyes only. You mentioned you didn't want us to nerf it and chose not to share your activity instead, resulting in a ban for robotic play after checking it out in game and reviewing reports.
