    Hi there.

On 9th March 2026 at roughly 09:00, your character TannoMule was in ch1 room 10 of the Free Market (FM) with a standing store open selling items.

Your character's shop was open, players could interact and buy your items just like a regular shop. The part that baffles me is this. Your shop mule, with a store open, was moving around the FM. This happened multiple times and other players also witnessed this.

Would you like to explain why your character TannoMule was moving around in the FM, while the store was still open and players could interact with it?

Well the short answer to that is: I don't know.

To help track down what happened I'll provide some insights into my setup and what I remember from yesterday around that time.

That mule is my storemule, which I have on an old laptop that I've configured to be as stable as possible to run royals 24hrs/day 7days/week.
Generally this goes well, though it does DC/crash once every 2-3 weeks on average.
I believe it crashed at some point on Sunday, I found a new spot on Mondaymorning.
I don't really recall if it then crashed again, though it might have on Monday.

When it crashes it sometimes does so in a weird way.
The screen will flash like the game was continually going from windowed to fullscreen.
This has happened before, I have posted about it on the discord: https://discord.com/channels/1008174423846686801/1008557899045425163/1458884444805927159 .
Generally the store is still open and ppl can visit the store, so I tend to ignore it if I don't need to restock my store.
I had no idea that this had any bad effects other than me not being able to see if my store sells anything.

After your message a friend of mine reached out and told me that there used to be a glitch where if you changed the resolution while in a store, you could move about with the store open.
I was not aware of this glitch, nor do I have any intention to trigger it.
Supposedly the glitch has been patched, but maybe the weird behaviour of my laptop triggered it?

Another thing I don't understand is the timeframe you mentioned.
You said me walking about with the store open occurred around 9:00 yesterday, I assume that is measured in servertime.
That would be impossible, since I was out of the house by then.
The way I recall things going down yesterday morning is me doing some dailies and resetting my store from around 7 AM servertime until 8AM servertime.
I had to be in the car by at least 8:15 AM servertime, so there is no way my character would be walking around at 9AM servertime yesterday.
The only theory I now have is that this occurred earlier, that the mentioned glitching of my laptop put the mule in a weird state while moving to reset my store.

I am sorry if this has caused any issues or has giving me any sort of benefit.
I was not aware I was doing this and most certainly did not willingly set this up.
If I can supply any more information to help clear this up I will gladly do so.
In the event that my ban is overturned, any advice in how to prevent the issue on my laptop would also be very much appreciated.

Hi, I know that bumping generally doesn't help your ticket.
And I see that you have a lot of appeals to go through.
It is also understandable that my case is not as easy to judge as 'why did you get 11 CS from this person'.
But if there's any way we could handle this appeal before the event ends that'd be most welcome.
If anything I can do or provide can speed up that process, please do let me know.

We have a few questions for you.
    1. You mentioned the laptop screen flashing with the game going windowed to fullscreen, do you know what's causing this?
    2. Are you using any other programs on your laptop alongside the MapleRoyals client?
    3. Your friend that reached out and mentioned this glitch, are they able to replicate it and provide a video of moving around with a store open?
    4. Can you share with us the specs of your laptop?

Thank you for the quick reply.
Here is the information you requested, though in a different order because I think that makes it easier to follow along.

    4. Specs of my laptop:

Below are screenshots I took this morning (EU times) of the laptop with the exact specs.
I have included the power settings, because an integral part of how I manage this laptop is that I open it up in the morning and before I go to bed to see if my store is still online.
If it is and doesn't need restocking, I close the lid and put the laptop way.
I have blocked out the device and product ID, if that is information you need please let me know.
I'm not very techy, so I like to be careful with identifying numbers on public webpages.
(This is my first time linking images on this site, so please bear with me if it goes wrong)

    Overall device specs:

Things I have running/installed (so only basic windows and Lenovo stuff, disabled onedrive and copilot):

    2. Are you using any other programs on your laptop alongside the MapleRoyals client?

Nothing that is not preinstalled on the laptop.
As you can see in one of the screenshots above, only the trackpad software, Nvidea stuff, bluetooth (which I could disable I guess? Never bothered) and Windows defender are running.
The laptop is quite old and would probably not like it if I ran both Royals and other software.
There's no VPNs, no external keyboards/screens, nothing that could/should influence the game in any way.
I haven't even bothered to remove the icons from the taskbar like the windows store and outlook....it is a very much naked/stock setup.
To even get these screenshots off the laptop I had to open the discord webapp, since I had no other way configured to get images/files from that laptop to another system.
If there's any fancy registry things I could show you to demonstrate that nothing has been installed other than Royals, please tell me how.

    1. You mentioned the laptop screen flashing with the game going windowed to fullscreen, do you know what's causing this?

Sadly I do not, I can only guess.
Sometimes the laptop runs for literally weeks on end without this glitch occurring.
The only theory I have so far is that something 'alt tabs' the game in a way it does not like.
Maybe that happens when windows update start running?
Maybe when the lenovo software checks for updates?
Maybe I'm wrong and it has nothing to do with that at all, I just don't know.

As I mentioned, I keep the laptop closed most of the day and only open it to check how my store is doing.
Something that I have not mentioned yet is that when I open the laptop in that way, it always puts the mouse in the center of the screen.
So there is something of a 'reset' happening when I open the lid.
This probably has to do with the fact that the screen is completely deactivated when I close the lid, so it has to re-calibrate things like mouse position.
Maybe this is something that contributes to the glitch?
In order to test that, somebody would have to repeatedly close and open their laptop, which is probably going to be detrimental to that device.

EDIT: Well I figured if somebody's going to try that, it should be me...and I did and I replicated the glitch after a few opens and closes.
So it almost definitely has something to do with the opening and closing....
I have a small video of it happening, but that vid shows my account name.
How can I send that to you without showing my account name on this site?

    4. Your friend that reached out and mentioned this glitch, are they able to replicate it and provide a video of moving around with a store open?

    Sadly they were not.
I have received DMs of a few people that said they will try to replicate it, so far nobody has been able to as far as I'm aware.
That does not surprise me though, as it sometimes ran for weeks without this issue occurring.

As a closer let me restate that I was not aware that this glitch was occurring.
Never have I seen my character move about with the store still open, if I did I would have reported it.
If there is any further information of any kind I can provide, don't hesitate to ask.
I'd even be willing to ship the laptop to you if that would help in any way.

So I've tried it a few more times and this is what I see when I open the lid:
    • The game shows up first as a small screen on the topleft and then quickly expands to fullscreen (like 1-2 frames)
    • The taskbar comes to the foreground, overlapping the fullscreen game window (again a few frames)
    • The game is shown in proper fullscreen
    • Though I've got it to glitch once, that contained my account name as I stated above. Can share the video of that with you in DM.
    • I've since closed and opened the lid a few dozen times, but haven't managed to trigger it again after removing my account name from the login screen
That means I think I now know what causes/starts the glitched state.
This does not prove in any way that this caused the weird behaviour of my store.
But it is the only thing other than being online for weeks on end that I can think of that would make the game freak out.

Thank you for providing the above information!

I will open Direct Messages (DMs) with you shortly to ask a few more questions and for the recordings you have to help assist with understanding the cause of this glitch.

We have discussed this situation as staff and note that:
    • This glitch was not done intentionally by you
    • You (and others) have difficulty in replicating this glitch successfully
    • Regular in game options to change resolution does not replicate this glitch as these options are disabled the moment a store is open
    • Being able to successfully use this glitch does not necessarily benefit you the player as your store can be hidden behind others and you end up not selling items due to this, but, this can also grief other players if your store appears on top of theirs
Due to the points noted above, we will be unbanning you as you were not intentionally glitching the game for your benefit.

A Warning To The Community Reading This
Due to this ban appeal raising awareness of this situation, if you are caught attempting to replicate this glitch with malicious intentions, we will not hesitate to ban you for glitch abuse.
