ok... serious question: was VL bon nerfed or am I just cursed with bad luck in all the runs I've been joining in the last couple weeks or so? I feel like it used to be average to see at least 4 jackpot items per bon (cs/ws/boot/css20). A run with only 2 or less items would be considered pretty dry. 0 items was practically unheard of (I don't think I ever saw it in any run I joined in like a year of running VL). Now I've seen two 0-item bons within weeks of each other. And just a constant stream of runs with only 1 or 2 items in it. Did it somehow get accidentally nerfed? (I'm thinking about how APQ drop rates were accidentally buffed for months before staff noticed - could this be happening in reverse)? If this is intentional, I think that's just a completely silly decision Or is this just some funky RNG I'm going through? Wanted to see if others are seeing the same thing in their runs or if anyone is collecting data around bon rates
Probably because I started joining runs again. Just spreading my curse to everyone nothing to see here. I can't remember the last time I saw a WS\CS\Boot drop from any of my boxes. To quote Dakota last night: "I don't think I have ever seen you get anything in Bon." After 43 horntails with no MW20 I broke the curse, but now I am 9 runs dry in a row again. 1/52 is disgusting.
Im 5.5 weeks dry in VL atm (ie no boot, ws or cs) I average 3-4 VLs a week, so thats around 25 VLs or 75 boxes with nothing in them more or less I think offlinetvfan was right. It’s time to 100BS 100FP 100ILmage farm
Wow pro VL hosters here. I did average 4-6 VL runs so about 15boxes per week, and in last month i got only 2scrolls in like 60-70boxes? whats more in the runs i joined, it happens many often like only 1boot or 1WS/CS dropped among all 30boxes ,and also happened 2times last week like Nothing valuable among all 30boxes.
Firstly, I'd like to give props to staff. Von Leon was a great addition to the game. Really fun, interactive gameplay. Great mechanics. But it's a really dumb decision to nerf something like VL bon. It was never good in the first place. Why ever nerf interactive party content unless your goal is to kill player motivation?
S>bonus box 50m each~ https://1drv.ms/x/c/0417531d2d379edb/IQANRAdQ3BnLQ76nvtjRLo2rAeAgIfaB9qWyLwwXOOGUFGE
Stop the cope we are all playing a game built on a slot machine its all rng there are good and bad streaks this will never change
Imagine if this thread results in: "We discovered rates were accidently decreased for all boxes while adjusting apple rates during the Valentines event."
Normally I wouldn't make a thread like this and spread conspiracy theories, because whenever I have some dry streak I know it's just me and eventually my luck will turn around and average out. And it does, though sometimes it takes a while I think with VL it's a bit different. Because in bon, you can see not just what you're getting, but what all 12-18 ppl are getting. If you run 5-6 times a week, and also follow the streams/screenshots channels of other runs, you're seeing A LOT of boxes being opened. So any patterns of "dry streaks" should average out quickly given the quantity. But everything I've been seeing lately looks really bad and hasn't really turned around. It's possible this is still just some large scale bad RNG and it will resolve itself, but the odds of that are low enough now I felt it was worth making this thread just to see. Worst case at least we get to vent our frustrations In the off chance this is an intentional nerf, here's why I think it's really bad change: It feels like the new average is about ~2 items in bon now. With rates like that if you do some rough math (pls check this my math is notoriously bad): Assume 1 item = ~500m (cs/ws/2att boot) For a 12man, your odds of being the person to get one of the 2 items = 2/12 = 1/6 For 18man = 2/18 = 1/9 Average profit per run (500m spread out across the number of runs you'd need to get that item on average): 12man = 500m / 6 = 83m 18man = 500m / 9 = 55m Subtract apple costs: 5 apples x 6.6m = 33m Result: 12man = 50m/h 18man = 22m/h Am I mathing that right? For the most difficult endgame content on the server, that's so bad. Like I know there's still HW10/RTK, and boots can roll higher, but still. I guess I need to start selling my bon boxes like @veen11
Shut up and get back to POE you can't come back here for another few days. but anyways I agree with Zear.
Well we know VL bonus and APQ bonus both use "box drop rate" so I think it's worth a look by staff. Maybe it unintentionally took a hit when APQ was adjusted after Valentines. The recent bonus rounds I've seen have all had two jackpots (cs/ws/css20/vlb) maximum. I'm already being generous considering css20 a jackpot. Needless to say I'm not really motivated to sign for bonus on an attacker unless they also need exp.
