Hi, I'm looking to make a str F/P mage as a personal challenge, and I'm looking for details on dmg calc for f/p skills. As a str F/P, currently the advice is to put points firstly into TP and Slow, as well as meditation for pt benefits. Fire Arrow and MP Eater wouldn't be used since they require INT / magic atk. My question is, how does Poison Breath damage calculation work, and are magic attacks required to land to activate poison effects? I think this forum is the fastest way to get the info i need. if anyone wants more info on my str mage experience in the future, i just hit lv 30 and have about 40 dex, with the rest in str, with 20 int from 1st job advancement. My main struggle rn is the wildly fluctuating melee damage. Str dictates your max damage, but dex dictates your min damage. Every 4 dex also gives you 1 accuracy. As with pure str warriors, this can be mitigated easily with dex scrolled bathrobe, gloves, cape, up till the zak helm that I plan to get. I have a baseball bat (2H sword) for my own personal joy and entertainment, but orange ski and maple soul singer will help me a lot later. For lvl 25+ i used pig illustrated. Also a great tip is to use lots of potion buffs. Even warrior pots/pills, sniper pots/pills when killing mobs gives a little push. As with early game warriors, you need the weapon atk/weapon acc. As for guides, I found myself checking permabeginner guides. The weapons and equips suggested fit better due to job requirement, and i get a better picture of how the levelling will be like. There isn't a lot of info on str mages, and most of it is on str clerics due to them having more buffs than the other wizards. Basically, your gameplay will be very equipment and buff based, so it's good to have resources. Single target regular attack will get boring, and the wide range of damage will be annoying if you like to predict exactly how many hits it will take to kill a mob. You'll do more quests and PQs (which also help with the equips). Hope this helps someone

Thank you! I actually don't intend to use magic acc, primarily my damage will be melee or poison mist (3rd job). Weapon acc is my concern rn

Good luck, this is a very cool challenge May I ask why this and not simply a beginner? They at least have some good weapons going for them. Do you require any help in game? If so is be happy to help you with this nasty challenge, pm me here if I need something. Last question/remark - it's nice to use the maple sword but obviously you need a mace to fully role-play the str mage haha. I think a maple belzet is the way to go, also it has a fiery theme. Not sure if it's even an option tho since class req
Yeah, I wanted to try it with teleport, mist, slow etc. Weapons-wise, i realise orange ski, fishing rod, sky ski is open to me, so I'm not too short of choices.
